In the booklet of this recording, Krystian addressed the looming question about the Rach 3 - The Everest. The one question that's on everybody's lips. He said that he is not in favour of complete recordings, and the four Rach concerti were never intended as a cycle. He also said that "the interpretation would be enormously complex to work out - it's so laden with emotion that it tears me to pieces every time I hear it." And to that, I am devastated. Speaking as his fan, I just know that it would be earth-shattering. It would be on the level of perfection that is almost inhuman. But he's fast approaching 70. And Rach 3 is a young person's game. Not to be ageist, but it's true. It takes so much stamina. It is not a joke when they called it "Everest of piano concertos". But then again, Krystian is closer to god than a man, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It should be noted that despite his claim, he is a completist, somewhat. He made the Beethoven (twice over), Brahms (also twice), Chopin (also twice), Liszt, Ravel concerti. Also, Chopin complete Ballades, Waltzes, Debussy Preludes, Schubert Impromptus.
@@MrHullUoh and i also agree on the importance of the balance between piano and orchestra, which seems to be a bit of an issue in most of his recordings

I'd literally sell my soul and sister to hear a Rach 3 recording
@@unidentified1935 your sister??🤣🤣
For me, Rach2 is a fair amount of Romantic. Rach3 is a little too much.
Amazing how the human mind works and how far we’ve come with music.
I heard this song first time, but i love this special melody and feelings!
Appreciate that so much!! Must be a huge amount of work
UA-cam should put ads between movements, not in the middle of them.
Two wonderful compositions, especially the second one... Thank you very much for this pieces!
amazing how much energy zimerman brings to live performances compared to his studio recordings
@@nandovancreij yes, especially towards the end of the performance.
