Homeless Encampment Fire 4/27/2024

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 4/27/2024 4:47 p.m.
LOCATION: Eastbound SR-94 On-Ramp From 28th St.
AREA/CITY: San Diego
DETAILS:
San Diego Fire-Rescue responded to a report of a vegetation fire on the 28th St. Off-Ramp from the Eastbound SR-94 freeway. A patrolling San Diego Police Officer spotted the fire and updated the location. San Diego Fire-Rescue arrived and was able to put out the 10'x10' fire before it spread any further.
Numerous trash and debris could be seen burning as the fire was started in a homeless encampment. No injuries were reported and it took about 25 minutes for firefighters to mop up the fire. It is unclear how the fire started as no one was seen in the area.

Could have started a wildfire if it were summer and CA lawmakers don't have the guts to do anything about this BS.
