What he’s saying here is still going over a lot of people’s heads. He’s talking about the lack of accountability of the black and hip hop communities as a whole for the overarching problems we have. But black people in America continue to overlook and perpetuate these issues as a collective. But nobody wants to acknowledge that just keep ignoring it and/or acting like the problems are not of our own creation. And I’m not talking about racism, we didn’t cause that. It’s other issues that are within the community’s control that continually go unaddressed. I’m glad he talked about this.

Please ask him how could he go on tour with the White Guy's who promoted same sex marriage????In September, Macklemore flew out to Sydney to make a high-profile appearance as pre-show entertainment for the National Rugby League Grand Final.
Watched live by 80,000 fans, and beamed to millions across the country, the match is essentially the Aussie Super Bowl, and Macklemore (who is a mainstream star Down Under, with two Top 10 hits to his name this year alone) was the game’s Lady Gaga.
But instead of thinking about choreography or tweaking set lists, the Seattle rapper - who plays Terminal 5 on Nov. 10 - was wondering whether he might be in any personal danger.
“I was honestly a little bit scared to perform when I was flying over,” he tells The Post. “I was checking to see what our security was like.”
The reason? He was flying into a fierce nationwide debate on gay marriage, thanks to the country’s ongoing referendum (the results of which will be announced on Nov. 15).
The 34-year-old’s performance at the Rugby League Final was due to feature his 2012 plea for gay and lesbian equality “Same Love” (performed with his regular music partner Ryan Lewis and singer Mary Lambert), which rankled badly with many conservative members of government.
Prior to even arriving on Australian soil, he was met with waves of criticism from several Australian politicians, including former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who backed an online petition effectively calling for the song to be banned from the set. Social-media users were similarly unforgiving to Macklemore (a k a Ben Haggerty).
“Some people were saying, ‘He’s trying to push the gay agenda,’ or, ‘You’ll turn gay if you listen to Macklemore,’ ” the rapper says.
Still, following the time-honored tradition of controversy leading to cash, the 5-year-old song received a sales boost. Just three days before the Rugby League Final, “Same Love” held the No. 1 spot on the Australian iTunes chart. (His current single, “Good Old Days” featuring Kesha, was at No. 2).
‘Some people were saying, ‘He’s trying to push the gay agenda,’ or, ‘You’ll turn gay if you listen to Macklemore.’
The performance itself went off without a hitch, but, in hindsight, Macklemore can see why it caused such a stink.
“It’s a macho, gladiator sport, like football is in America,” says Macklemore, who famously performed the song with Madonna at the Grammys in 2014, as scores of couples (both straight and gay) were married onstage. “You’re gonna piss people off, but all these moments add up to an understanding and, hopefully, change.”
Macklemore can’t quite boast the same level of domestic fame as when he and Lewis ruled the charts with the hits “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us” in the early part of the decade. But his new solo album, “Gemini” - his first without Lewis in 12 years - has made an impact, especially with the video for “Glorious” featuring Skylar Grey.
The viral clip depicts his grandmother Helen celebrating her 100th birthday in style, by dancing with male strippers, egging someone’s house and even being gifted a pair of Adidas Yeezys - the achingly hip and expensive sneakers designed by Kanye West.
“She actually hated the Yeezys,” says Macklemore. “She put them on and said, ‘Take these Mickey Mouse shoes off of me.’ She wanted her faux snakeskin loafers back!”

😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 " I never think a bout that or my family because we have reggae music bob Peter bunny
He’s just speaking general information. People are smarter than other people. We have employees smarter and more intelligent than the boss himself.
People got to understand Steve Jobs the one who created the iPhone even said himself me or my family don’t even have this phone because I know the dangers behind this and the future of it, but he wanted all of us to be apart of it.
Every time I see one of his interviews I see comments that call him young man. Are they bots or something? I dig what bro saying but the comments seem weird.
Just catching wind of Dee-1. Keep being authentic and repping Emmanuel 👍🏾
That album with murs is fire
Damn this is probably one of the most worthwhile moments I’ve seen on this channel. Good look ✌🏾❤️
How did this brother become so intelligent?🤔
God gifted him. 🙌🏾
Everything in moderation
salute Dee 1 💯
That's good Dee ! That's the U.S. Government
The hate this dude is getting is so damn unfair. He know wtf he’s talking about.
You rarely see the record label ceo's presidents in the music video, you would think they should feel safe moving around in their artists neighborhoods lol but we know what it is...
People don’t really understand the impact the co co had on the community. When that song came out I hated it because I witnessed first hand what the co co did. I’m glad this brotha is speaking out about this.
What did the song Coco do?
@@Invisible-Wall ummm, glorified to use and or sell of coke
@@anic510 people in the community glorified selling and using coke because of a song? You do realise people were using coke and selling coke before that song came out? Can't blame music on that.
@@Invisible-Wall I never said I blame the song. I hate the song because it glorifies the use and or sell of something the almost destroyed the black community.
That's bad karma on that guy pushing that evil
Art you need to get Mo3 manager Rainwater on here. He got some wisdom about this game.
Where is the full interview!
Lost me at the black accountability part. White supremacy is the system in which we all play a part in unfortunately.
