Hey there’s one of my old TrueAlerts (BTW, it’s not a quick alert. The quick alerts had a different grill design, that’s just an early true alert.) ! Actually really cool that you ended up with it. I actually got that 4903 from One of Western Michigan universities academic buildings. They were doing construction and they gave me 5. I ended up giving one to Zach from BSS, and that’s how you got it. I still have 3 left of my own, and I did a short review video on it.
can you do a upside down system?, where everything (pull stations and fire alarms) are upside down, and swap the pull stations with the smoke detectors?!?!? that would be amazing!!
Great video 😀👍👍 I couldn’t tell whether it was the Simplex Alarms on FWR, my headphones, and/or something audio related on your end, but the alarms sounded really scratchy. Keep up the great work and thank you!😉
To wire conventional initiating devices to addressable panels, you must use a monitor module. My monitor modules are above the MS-9200UDLS panel. They look like square plates with a blinking light on it. Some other brands may have different looking ones but they all have the same general function.
@@ExitSign250 how you wired it was wiring resettable power to the resettable power terminals of the module, the smoke detector to the zone on of the module, and the SLC to the slc terminals? Thanks
Yep, they are directly wired to the panel’s NACs. (FWR) I don’t personally believe in the whole “don’t run Simplex devices on FWR” stuff because I’ve done it for years and nothing has ever happened.
It directs the air away from the smoke/heat detectors. The air from the vent can make it difficult to test the detectors so the vent cover redirects it away from them.
The iPhone/iPad or whatever that he’s using that is connected to his microphone can only handle a very low level line input, so it’s probably that the level is too high and the internals on the device start to clip. I use a TRS to TRRS converter to use the mic input to play music via a 3.5mm cable while I’m streaming and if the volume on the other phone playing the music is over half then the mic input will start clipping and causing the audio to have the same effect. I think it has to do more with the levels and that his microphone is completely fine.
Actually, the issue with the sound is due to I face my shotgun microphone away from the devices and facing me. If I were to face it towards the alarms, you wouldn’t be able to hear me much. I’m in the process of getting a mic to attach to me, then have the shotgun mic faced towards the alarms. That way audio from both ways is equal.

Great system test! Love the activation with the sparkler
Great Video!
This is my favorite series you do!
Awesome! You should try using those sparklers more often haha. Really enjoyed this one!
I’m glad you liked it! I’ll try to use those sparklers often.
Gotta love FWR. I’d recommend trying to look for a NAC power supply (FCPS). Usually, they aren’t too expensive.
I would, but there is no room for it on the demo boards.
I just love this channel
Cool man! Love the boards!
Cool! Now we know why Sparklers are to stay outside!
Awesome! This was a fun video!
I kinda figured that the simplex alarm on the right would sound like the one ser safety has, but it kinda sounds like an alarm clock
Very interesting setup 👍
Great video! What model truealert is that?
Very neat! Keep up the great vids 👍
Nice video! I subbed and liked
cannot wait for u to upload another vid! your channel is awesome!! :D
You can use a True Alert on a 5ud?
can you do a upside down system?, where everything (pull stations and fire alarms) are upside down, and swap the pull stations with the smoke detectors?!?!? that would be amazing!!
Maybe one day, as like a joke video.
Awesome and I have 2 older Simplex devices a 2901-9838 and a 4251-20 that needs a new button
You should’ve done that for New Year’s😂
really neat system, can you make a video on how you wire the pull stations, panels and alarms all together? :)
Thanks! Like how to basically wire fire alarm systems?
Great video 😀👍👍
I couldn’t tell whether it was the Simplex Alarms on FWR, my headphones, and/or something audio related on your end, but the alarms sounded really scratchy. Keep up the great work and thank you!😉
Thanks! I appreciate it! I think was a mix of FWR and my volume. I’m in the process of getting a relatively stable audio system for filming.
ExitSign250 Okie Dokie! Thank You
Great system test! =]
What 😛I’m panting
Cool! I might get a t bar soon.
Can you do a video on how to wire a addressible fire alarm system.
I have the same white Simplex alarm but I have the TrueAlert
Awesome video
Awesome video 😊👍👍
Nice system. New subscriber btw.
Love it!
how did you wire the simplex smoke alarm to a addressable fire lite panel i have the same one but it does not work with my fire lite es-50
To wire conventional initiating devices to addressable panels, you must use a monitor module. My monitor modules are above the MS-9200UDLS panel. They look like square plates with a blinking light on it. Some other brands may have different looking ones but they all have the same general function.
@@ExitSign250 oh I understand i have a simplex 4098 9754 and it does not work with my panel
Very cool!
Is the simplex smoke detector wired to a monitor module? Thanks
It is. That’s the only way conventional devices work with addressable systems.
@@ExitSign250 how you wired it was wiring resettable power to the resettable power terminals of the module, the smoke detector to the zone on of the module, and the SLC to the slc terminals? Thanks
Why is it so scratchy?
I really hope you’re not directly wiring those to the panels and using FWR
Yep, they are directly wired to the panel’s NACs. (FWR) I don’t personally believe in the whole “don’t run Simplex devices on FWR” stuff because I’ve done it for years and nothing has ever happened.
ExitSign250 just be careful with the quick/truealerts please. it would suck if those broke
The devices aren’t effected by the FWR, and it certainly won’t break them.
What is that cover on the vent for?
It directs the air away from the smoke/heat detectors. The air from the vent can make it difficult to test the detectors so the vent cover redirects it away from them.
@ExitSign250 very cool!
Sweet!
The quickalert sounds like a sheep doing code 3
One of my olds schools had a quick alert and same horn delay
That truealert omg that thing is loudddd
QuickAlert!!!!!
nice video
Your microphone seems to be having trouble with the sound of those alarms.
The iPhone/iPad or whatever that he’s using that is connected to his microphone can only handle a very low level line input, so it’s probably that the level is too high and the internals on the device start to clip. Aaron Productions ok thanks for the explanation!
Actually, the issue with the sound is due to I face my shotgun microphone away from the devices and facing me. If I were to face it towards the alarms, you wouldn’t be able to hear me much. ExitSign250 make sure you get a powered lav
Dale Nuss Because these Alarms are using FWR (Unfiltered DC) which makes the alarms sound raspy.
My school has simplex fire alarm
Finland 🇫🇮
Reset😅
Sounds bad on FWR
