Nice test! I’ve never worked on those JCI pull stations but have seen a few of the older panels. Cannot think of the models at the moment but they did exist.
I've seen these before!!! There are several of these in the museum at the entrance into Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora, ND. The system has 4" bronze-colored bells on white square strikers for notification and I didn't see a panel anywhere.
Warning, a fire emergency has been reported in your area! Please use your nearest stairway and emergency exit to evacuate the building. Do not use the elevator! Yes there are alarms that will say that as well as their usual beeping.
Back in the day johnson controls did have a pretty big presence, they used to sell voice systems that took over the industry along with autocall and kidde ETC. so to answer your question, yes, thats what those pulls were for. JCI's big voice systems, some of which were featured in popular hotels and resorts. Don't see them anymore cause they've all really been replaced and phased out long ago.
Interesting. I’ve never seen such older Johnson Controls systems/panels. Perhaps as you mentioned they have been replaced earlier than most other older systems.
@exitsign250 How do I enable audible silence on a MS-5UD is there like a setting or something i can't seem to find anything for that some kind of wiring to the alarm relay to the NAC how do you do it?
In the NAC programming, you can enable it to be silenceable or nonsilenceable. Selecting nonsilencable will prevent the NAC from being silenced by the panel and you can wire strobes to this NAC.
@@ExitSign250 What about 2 wire or 3 wire devices I have seen it be done with the P2R and its variants have any idea? PS: sorry if I am keeping you awake its 10:28 for me rn
@@ExitSign250 Also can I say I LOVE your old videos from back when you had your ms-2 and ms-5ud those are so nostalgic i grew up watching those without an account
Thank you so much! That was so long ago, but I’m very happy to have fond memories of them! About the two wire audible silence… You can only have two wire audible silence with a select few brands. On the MS-5UD you can set a NAC to sync System Sensor, Wheelock, Gentex, Faraday, and Amseco devices. You can only use one of these brands for audible silence and you must use the same brand on a NAC. For example, say you have an L Series and Advance. Both two wire and you’d like them to have audible silence. Wire them together on one NAC, then program the NAC for System Sensor Sync. (found under the coding section) Then select the NAC to be silenceable. The L Series and Advance will both sync to each other and the strobe will continue to flash when silenced. You can do the same with the other brands listed. However you cannot mix brands together. (Like using a System Sensor L Series with a Wheelock Exceeder on the same NAC) I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or need further help!
I actually own one of these as well. They look cool but they are honestly very poor quality pull stations. The reset mechanism is very difficult to use
Awesome test! That certainly is an interesting pull station! The ceiling mounted “MASS” alarm was also nice. Good video!
I liked this test. The 2400 is probably the best detector ever made
Jeez, that looks kinda sleek and cool

I've seen the Johnson Controls Pull station before. it is in the Macy's at Ocean county mall, used with rare System Sensor SSM24-10 Fire Bells.
Whats up exit sign 250 I just resatly got in two exit signs but I’ve love fire alarms for like 8 years now

Hey there, those JCI/Standard Pull stations would most likely be on SET7000 fire alarm panels, and similar systems from that era.
Interesting! Thanks for the info.
definitely a adapta-pull find!
Really similar, I think it would really match with adaptahorns
That’s a nice pull station.
Still can’t believe your parents finally let you on UA-cam
I can’t either.
Great video!
That JCI pull station is oddball, but it’s also unique!
Test me, my friend. I've seen the JCI pull before.
Loud enough that it would wake me up from a sound sleep.
Jeez, R are Pull stason that looks kinda sleek and cool
you should ask Glenn James (Old School Fire Alarms) if he knows any info on these things. I believe these are from the mid 70s.
We’ve got 10 or so of those in a box our garage from a old building that got torn down we were thinking of throwing away
Definitely try to sell them! Because of how hard they are to find, people would definitely be interested in buying them.

There was (is?) an office building near me that had these. The signals were Standard remote lights next to bells behind metal grates.
dang how did you find one?? i saw one while on vacation years ago and haven't been able to find even a photo since then.
Just happen to stumble across an eBay listing for a lot of two. That was the first time I had ever seen this model!

You were the one I was thinking of! Yeah definitely a weird and poor design. Resetting is definitely difficult as you mentioned.
