Thanks for spending some time with us.
This show is... Something that rarely comes around. The perfectly sculpted TV show.. you never expect what's coming, and it CONSTANTLY causes you to look inward and it also never stops finding ways to tug at your heart strings. 10/10
The second season is out and also realy good. There is one side ark thats bad, but it only last one episode.
@@huntereyeofdarkwood5417 I just finished the season. Oh, my fucking god. I'm buzzing with excitement, disbelief, and sadness. Sadness, because I may never find a show that can fill the void. The plot twists are impeccably done.
I just finished the series and found your channel while looking for people talking about this show OMG!!! I love this show hands down my new favorite show and that ending and the huge twist I have no complaints about anything about this show every aspect shines this show needs a big spotlight.
Thanks for checking us out! The show is AMAZING and needs way more attention
Yeah skipped work to binge this. This show is fire
We need a season 2 react!!! 😃
Just watched the second season this morning and o' boy it's fantastic!
I really hope you will do season 2 some day! Absolutely loved your reactions to this show! :) And you seemed pretty excited to do it too! I know I'm like 2 years late though.
Idk if it's out in the US yet but are you going to be reacting to season 2? I just finished it the other day and it's SO good (although it does focus a bit more on the 19th cent people, there's still a lot of Norse stuff)
Great video again!
Tracksuit guy! Love the look on their faces when he asks for a phone.
And I love the freak-outs.
Mind = Blown!
So when are you peeps going to do the second season? I would be great to hear other kinds of commentary. And some explanations.
Hope you do season 2 :)
I'm super excited for season 2, which drops December 5th! Have you seen the trailers yet?
Not yet but we're excited to dive into it soon!
@ Björn
Hey Björn, great analysis of this AWESOME series! I had a lotta fun watching you guys commenting on the series.
However, you forgot to mention one important detail:
At the Urd's funeral scene, Skjalg starts reciting this old Viking poem/motto:
"Ósnjallr maðr
hyggsk munu ey lifa
ef hann við víg varask
en elli gefr
honum engi frið
þótt honum geirar gefi"
["A coward believes he will live forever
If he keeps himself safe from strife:
But old age leaves him not long in peace
Though spears may spare his life."]
Being an Ensiferum fan, you probably remember this is the poem recited in the middle of "Heathen Horde". You were wearing an Ensiferum t-shirt, so I thought you would mention that connection. I don't suppose everyone should know about Ensiferum, but since we are talking about Viking culture, for those who don't know this awesome Finnish band, just check it out, you won't regret it!
best start ever guys hahaha Bjorn you are so silly and interesting video i love it this movie looks cool
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@VikingsReact aww how sweet
Thanks for the wild ride glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for getting us to watch it! 😄
1:09 I didn’t notice this the first time I watched the show, but is that Tobias Santelmann?
Well it is. I can’t believe I didn’t notice either😂
Doods - the sword lastet as long as it was Solingen Stainless steel made in the future and sent back to the viking age. It is well known that next to japanese katana steel, viking steel was the best of its time. Now, fellow time travelers, you know why.
Is this an April fools joke?
@@VikingsReact Depends on your time line ;)
I am sorry to say, but I only discovered this show & your channel recently. I love everything about this Beforiegners and it has become one of my favorites. My wife only came in about half way through the first season at which point I started the season over and started watching your channel to give us more insight into the show.
We have just finishd the second season and the only thing missing was your enthusiastic review of the the second season. I hope you enjoyed the second season as much as we did and I would love to hear your views & reactions to the second season.
Thank you for the kind words and sorry to keep you (and others) waiting on the second season! We just posted a video to update everyone on our channel's status so check it out if you want to know more of what to expect from us moving forward! We're excited to dive into season 2 as soon as we can.
8:24 It's Kalandra! I just realized this, after watching the show again. You can see Katrine, the singer, dance with a drum a few seconds later (30.39 on HBO). The song is called Skaldespille. I love it! I love them. Your reactions are great.
Wonder how Olav the Holy feels about modern Norway's brand of Christianity... Not only not Catholic but protestant; but also *really* relaxed and liberal, and not really followed by so many with any real devotion.
now I'm wondering who he was talking about when he mentioned "these heathen mongrels"
I hope you'll react to Season 2 when it drops in the US (23rd Dec possibly)
Bruh is this fuckin Raganr from the last kingdom ! This show is amazing can't wait for s02. Love you guys content.
8.36 "the whole long table fest and the drinking and the dancing is just so Viking" Yes but it's also so very normal nowadays in small towns in Europe to have a feest once a year with long tables drinking and dancing.
Well... atleast I liked all your vids as a little contribution to visit europe.
Thats great! Similar festivities happen here too but not in the exact same way. It's fascinating to see how our modern social behaviors have very solid foundations from so long ago 😊
11:54 If the other Vikings accepted her as one of them does that make her a genuine Viking or an honorary one? Because I think they did genuinely accept her despite not understanding where she came from.
We believe that the way 'nationality' was looked at in those days had more to do with which ruler you were sworn to and where you lived rather than where you were born. In that respect, she would be seen as their own once she had a family to raise her. However, we should also remember that the term 'Viking' was a profession regardless of where you were from, and if she went a-viking then she would be one as well.
@@VikingsReact thanks :)
Looking up material on Norse adoption and early Nordic adoption might give you an answer. The Norse had a practice of knee-setting as well as the Nordic stretching quite far back, would regard a child raised by them as one of their own to varying degrees (though in more recent times, before these things became formalized, it was usually practiced between extended family members, as in a child being sent to an uncle, aunt or cousin of their biological parent).
Just watched the series and enjoyed your comments very much! You two are very 🥰 cute together!!!
I found your comments on the series very interesting and amusing, even if I'm not really interested in the Viking Age. What I really liked about the series was the work on the topic of migration. By the way, the song played the beginning is „Son ar chistr.“ I just recognised the tune while whatching your video (I know the song in the german version of „Was wollen wir trinken sieben Jahre lang“).
Thanks so much, for the kind words and the song name! And yes, the way they approached immigration was very unique and interesting.
Season 2 just finished filming!
It would be cool if she found her parents - perhaps she's just been missing/presumed dead for a few years, but shows up as an adult.
Also, what will being born "a modern" mean for her legal status? For example, does the prohebition against warriors (like shieldmaidens) in the police apply to someone born in the modern world? On the other hand, perhaps the police got rules against hiering someone who's legal age maybe 7 - 12y/o...
I like the way you think. Hopefully they explore some of this in season 2 along with how Olav will feel about modern-day religions.
All leading demonstrating how basically truly is 'no mans daughter'.
Plus on another note, her being born in this time with another name means that technically Alfhidir Einigsdottir doesn't exist, and yet she's there so she must exist.....
Season 2 plot twist was SOO shocking!!!!!
Hey! Season two is out! When will we get your reactions?
Soon!
@@VikingsReact can't wait ! Love your reactions
One thing I would really like to see some comments on is: Why does Alfhildr eat so much? Honestly, she is basically constantly eating. A lot. In every second scene she is speaking while munching on something. Is this a viking thing, lol? Or maybe its a time traveller thing.
Okay, I'm back to ask, again, kindly, begging-ly, for you to react to Season 2. I can't share how I'm feeling with anyone else, because I don't know anyone that has watched it!!! :(
I hope you guys are well.
I take it you're soon going to be giving us a reaction to the trailer for the second half of the sixth and final season of 'Vikings'? It's coming up in late December but as far as I know so far it's only been confirmed to be released on Amazon prime, don't know if it'll be available anywhere else anytime soon. Something in the trailer made me half scream when I first watched it, not saying what though. All I'll say is that it's definitely a final season and so far it's looking good
Yes! We already have it filmed, and we'll be putting it out for you soon 😁
Vikings React pls post now im dying to see yall reaction
Have you discovered that season 2 is out? 🙃🤩
Season 2 is out now btw!
Season 2 is out!
will you do the reaction of the vikings trailer ?
Already filmed, we're working on getting it out ASAP! 😁
Vikings React yaasss
Season 2is out for months now, when do you make react videos to it?
Check out our latest update video, we explain everything there 🙂
@@VikingsReact Ok, I really hope you will talk about this show becauese apparently no one else on UA-cam does, unfortunately (compared to other more prominent shows that have vikings in them). And season 2 of this was SO crazy...
You guys should react to the ottomans on Netflix 🔥
One of the funniest videos of yours ;)
Haha, I totally forgot about the whole room full of tracksuit guys when I made that comment.
I'm probably in the minority, I think Tobias looks better as Olaf than he does as Ragnar The Younger. It's all about the hair... and the horse... and the tracksuit... and the possibility of being on the winning side.
They're filming s2 right now, but there's a chance that another HBO Nordic show with Tobias and the guy who plays Tore will be out before that www.expressen.se/noje/blogg/tvbloggen/2019/08/27/utmark-hbo-nordic-skadespelare/
I prefer Ragnar Ragnarsson. 😉
@@Aremeriel I really didn't like his wig in s1. It just looked ridiculous and bad.
So it's been confirmed that there's going to be a season 2? While I'm here does anyone here know if COVID is going to slow down the release of season 2 of 'Ragnarok'? Are you guys going to do a 30 minute video rant about Beforeigners and all it's talked about and all the ways the story can continue now?
Don't know about Ragnarok, but beforeigners is being filmed right now. 😉
@@Aremeriel thanks!
@@agenttheater5 just checked. Ragnarok started filming in September. 😉
@@Aremeriel thanks :)
We knew time was different b/c Maddie was with Olaf for awhile b/c her teeth are full on rotted
Interesting that Olaf's aren't 🤔
@@VikingsReact my guesses apart from that being a slip-up with the director are that either even in those days there was better dental treatment available to kings than random women who appeared out of no-where as Madde must have seemed to have been, or at that place for newly arrived beforereigners there's a dental treatment available where they fix new arrivals rotten teeth up but since officially speaking Madde's teeth weren't rotten but 'discoloured' from the electricity in the water there was no need for them to fix up her teeth - be funny if it turned out that was the only reason why they denied that she'd travelled back in time so that they wouldn't have to pay for one more tooth treatment
