Always a pleasure to see Iron Hands on the board, those Immortals are just the worst to try and kill and they fought against your Word Bearers, which is always nice to see on the board
Getting into Iron Hands, and love seeing the chonkyness of Iron Hands. Reminds me a little bit of old 40k DG and the reason I got into em. Tonkyness for the win!
Texas Josh in the house! I always like seeing Iron Hands! I know they ain't the most loved Legion, so it's always good to see them out and about and in a batrep vid
Does heavy keep you from sweeping? I know cataphratii have a special rule that stops you from sweeping advance. Sorry if I missed something, I just didn't see anything under the heavy unit type!
When I visited, Steve was bragging that he always seized the initiative and so he deployed first. I then rolled and seized. Still lost, but it was pretty jokes.
Slow and purposeful is the rule that stops you from sweeping, which is what the cataphractii have. Those medusan immortals could have swept the tacs in the forest as heavy is reroll failed armour saves against templates and -1 movement when reacting based on initiative
i love horus heresy so much. I prefer battles without primarchs, which are more balanced. Primarchs should come out for big battles only 3000-4000 minimum. Two beautiful armies, two chapters that I love. I'm fulfilled!! Thank you mwg team!
After playing 25 games or so of 2nd edition, 3000 of legion vs legion without primarchs is the most balanced; its also what GW play tested the most and likely based the point costs on. With primarchs, i'd say 3500 - 4000 sits well, tho primarchs in general do mess with the balance a bit. In general, the larger the game, the more balanced and close the game has been. reactions do become less meaningful in 5000+ 1v1 games, since they don't scale with army size. most of our big games have been 2 or 3 players per side, with each player bringing 4000, generally, and those have worked out great and almost all have been very close games.
You guys making HH videos every Monday is just a gift. Thank you so much for the time and effort. You guys are awesome!!!
That IH seargent "DONTCHA YOU KNOW IM STILL STANDING BETTER THEN I EVER DID!!!..."

25 minutes in. Great video so far, but I am wondering if anyone is going to remember the Iron Hands' legion trait!

Josh should bring that beautiful Krieg army as Militia in 30k
Heavy doesn't stop you from sweeping. That's a cataphractii trait specifically
That first turn was absolutely brutal
Cant wait to watch this one this evening :-) Love me some Word Bearers :-)

I think the Immortals count as heavy because of the boarding shields (so do breachers?)
The ironhands revenge for Istvan :D

The moment he charged into the dread with initiative 1 I knew it was going to go bad...

Graviton is under your strength, not under or equal to
Part of the word bearers legion trait is that they win ties in combat

Love me some Horus Heresy! The "Lord Marshall's Own" (Solar Auxilia) for the win....

whats the suggested points value for a balanced game in HH?
From what I've heard it's between 2000 and 3000, with the advice generally being if you want to bring a primarch go more toward the 3000 side
