*Hey guys! Welcome back to another Warhammer battle! This time we are going to see the Tomb Kings in action. What faction are you excited to see in Warhammer 2?*
Interesting factoid. The Tomb Kings, unlike the Vamp Count skeletons, are intelligent. Because of the process of making them, they don't really remember much about being alive, but they still have undying loyalty to their lord. This is probably why they're able to use bows, just a guess. The higher tier people who were mummified though, do remember (because mummifying does that?) as well as the major lords, the "Tomb Kings".
Tomb Kings have a lot of lore. Let's begin. The tomb kings originate from ancient Nehekara (basically Egypt, so not far from the Warhammer 1 Badlands.) the Nile has been replaced with the River Vitae (now known as the River Mortis). Settra the Imperishable was the first Tomb King. He became obsessed with death, as he wanted immortality. Thus, the Mortuary Cult was founded, to try and find a way to cheat death. They didn't succeed, at least in Settra's time. Fast forward a few dozen Tomb Kings and two dynasties, and you come to the reign of King Khetep, in the Third Dynasty, who ruled the city of Khemri. Nagash was Khetep's son, and joined the Mortuary Cult during his early years. Eventually, he rose to be High Priest of Khemri, but not its ruler (that was his brother.) Eventually, he came into possession of Dark Elf prisoners, among them a sorceress who taught him the art of magic. However, Nehekara being thousands of miles away from the Chaos Rift in the north, did not have enough magic for Nagash to use. Nagash, after he learned all he could, killed the Dark Elves and gathered servants, promising them eternal life for eternal servitude. First among them was his vizier, Arkhan the Black. Nagash had a sister also, Neferata, who was also the queen of Khemri. From his blood, Neferata fashioned the Elixir of Life, turning her into the first pure vampire. Eventually, there would be several to drink from it: Arkhan the Black, Ushoran (first of the Strigoi), Neferata (first of the Lhamians), Luther Harkon (vampire pirate who operates now from the Vampire Coast, in Lustria), Walach Harkon, founder of the Blood Knights, and Vashenash (first of the von Carsteins) (probably.) Eventually, he deposed his brother and ruled with his sister over Khemri, ordering the construction of a massive onyx pyramid, the Black Pyramid featured in this video. The Black Pyramid channeled Chaos energies into it, allowing Nagash to practice his own for, of magic, necromancy. Eventually, he warred against the other Priest-Kings of Nehekara, and lost. He fled to Cripple Peak, in the Old World, and built his fortress of Nagashizzar, to marshal his forces. A few more dynasties passed, and Alcadizzar the Conqueror, last Priest-King of Nehekara, with the help of the Skaven, assassinated Nagash in retribution for the poisoning of the River Vitae, which made it the River Mortis. With Nagash's death, his armies of undead collapsed. Eventually he rose again AoS, becoming the god of the dead.
The old Warhammer game 'Dark Omen' is an interesting story to add to this, about the von Carsteins attempting to revive Nagash. I'd recommend checking it out if anyone's curious, the game's pretty aged but still does a decent job of replicating Warhammer tabletop mechanics in a real-time venue. Note that Tomb King units only show up pretty late, you're fighting vampires/undead for most of the game.
Really thought I subscribed to you a while ago, but this fight and your commentary made me realize that I did not because I was thinking, "This guy deserves it." Anyway, thanks for making these.
TooUnlucky Never going to happen. The Warhammer map is huge and finishing the rest of it is going to take a while. Warhammer 2 will be based around the high elves, dark elves, lizardmen, and the skaven
thank you for the tips on my cav. I think I got a little tunnel vision during the battle, also that was my cav in the center which I left for dead in my mind they had fullfiled their purpose which was to take that check point
A bit of of tomb king lore Was a human nation like crusade era Middle East with Egyptian architecture Was invaded by nagash and taken over by him and used for a while by him to try and destroy human nations nearby Kings under nagash eventually revolted and nagash was defeated and ultimately ripped to itty bits Due to the power of nagashs necromancy they kept they're intelligence in a way (most likely the reason they can use bows) After nagashs defeat Settra the undying lead the tomb kings as a undead nation raising many new monsters eg the sphinx bone giants and ushabti this also lead to the vampires rising to power (not explains that) and that's basiclly what I know plz correct me if I'm wrong
Pixelated Apollo - what's your opinion on Warhammer ? I've seen most of your videos when I'm usually off work , mostly of Napoleon and Medievil 2 . The animation and stuff especially graphics from Warhammer look like they'd be amazing for any new total war game especially Medievil 3 if they ever come out with that . Know some claim it to be "Cartoony" but let's be honest it's way more immersive in terms of seeing them fight the blood & gore ect
I feel like they're gunna add this as Warhammer 2 dlc. Pert of me is thinking the third game is gunna be original stuff, since they've been given creative rights, so we could see the eastern lands that were never really important there, and maybe end times with chaos gods as the wrap up when they put all three maps together. Some people are thinking game 3 will be chaos gods but I don't think that's gunna happen.
When do you guys think they'll add Skaven? I don't know much of Warhammer, but from End Times, I really look forward to either a Skaven mod or DLC. I just like the idea of a rush of high number low quality troops, with higher tier elites available
Warhammer II teased them. But they refuse to confirm them... this makes Arch Warhammer (Shamelessly advertising for no monays! Seriously the guy deserves more subscribers... and should do more mordheim) scared that they'll make them pre-order DLC like chaos in the Total War:Warhammer Old World Edition
Setra really ,he is the one who unified the kingdom's before signature, and got awaken from tomb by nagash foul play along with thousands of other Pharaoh's who have lived to date along with each one's armies,,and won the chaotic power struggle, the leader of tomb kings badass Setra..........
idk why people hate on warhammer its a fun game sure the games are short but the graphics are great theres a lot of different units in the game and the campaign is really fun
of course I would right for Nagash! unless this is before his seat. if this is his resurrection bro I would follow him to the ends of the earth, cause the earth ends lol
"if you dont want to see the army comps there will be a timestamp in the description" Apparently im more blind than the skeletons or that description doesn't have one.
*Hey guys! Welcome back to another Warhammer battle! This time we are going to see the Tomb Kings in action. What faction are you excited to see in Warhammer 2?*

3:30 Imagine it. A skeleton standard bearer charging at you, another skeleton mounted on the standard itself, and wielding another standard!
I think Tomb Kings should be a faction in either Warhammer 2 or 3
Probably a dlc or in Warhammer 3.
Tadicuslegion78 I think CA shouldnt be sellouts and include all factions in warhammer 2
TooUnlucky Never going to happen. The Warhammer map is huge and finishing the rest of it is going to take a while. Warhammer 2 will be based around the high elves, dark elves, lizardmen, and the skaven
there going to be the main faction in 3
they are adding the southlands in two so i think theill be there
I have to say that was one of the most epic battles on your channel. Good job, apollo
If CA were smart they would call this guy/group with a job offer. This is one of the best mods I've seen graphically
2:22 Me every morning i wake up after a good dream
How are skeletons and ghosts tired in battle
a number 9 large They don't get tired, they just have their binding, which has resurrected them, deteriorate which is a constant circumstance
Well they don't have lungs sooooooooooooo
Thanks for the awesome birthday present Apollo!
I think we can all agree apollo has secured his thrown at the top of total war youtubers

Hey, never thought i wanted a massive battle between egyptian gods. thanks for uploading.
This reminds me of the final battle of lord of the rings where the giant ghost army came in and saved the day.
Pixelated Apollo needs millions of subs because he is so amazing at total war.
That was soo epic..Do more Warhammer, i think it's the most cinematic Total War
Rodrik Your display picture is offended by your comment.
Shh dont tell her :)
That Infantry charge at 11:04 was epic, movie worthy.
If you look closley in the fighting you will see skeletons losing their heads and arms but still continue to fight
That was the best total war replay I've seen in months.
Pixie Poo just knows how to cheer people up like Reggie Watts you know man he is just always looking to brighten someone's day :D
thank you for the tips on my cav. I think I got a little tunnel vision during the battle, also that was my cav in the center which I left for dead in my mind they had fullfiled their purpose which was to take that check point
Nice video. I would like to see more cinematic shots with hidden UI for even more epicness.

"Shooting bows at his infantry." Somehow, that made me chuckle.
Great video!
13:03 that's a war sphinx? I thought it was a wingless gryphon.
Yeah, most of the roster looks pretty good. However, that's just a blown up demigryph.
MY FAVOURITE FACTION IN TOTAL WAR WARHAMMER NOW ;)
The tomb kings are easily my favourite war hammer faction

Kidperfect
Amazing love this workshop maps and hope you do more
Great one ! Want more ! :D
3:13 I find it ironic that the Tomb Kings use the ankh, an Egyptian symbol for life, on their shields.
A bit of of tomb king lore
Was a human nation like crusade era Middle East with Egyptian architecture
Was invaded by nagash and taken over by him and used for a while by him to try and destroy human nations nearby
Kings under nagash eventually revolted and nagash was defeated and ultimately ripped to itty bits
Due to the power of nagashs necromancy they kept they're intelligence in a way (most likely the reason they can use bows)
After nagashs defeat Settra the undying lead the tomb kings as a undead nation raising many new monsters eg the sphinx bone giants and ushabti this also lead to the vampires rising to power (not explains that) and that's basiclly what I know plz correct me if I'm wrong
saw the thumbnail and straight away clicked the videos
One of the soldiers, "Let us win this darn battle!" AAH!-Shot by arrow into the face- Ah come on-Him in heaven-
12:54 not archers but skeletal horseman !!!
Try say what you see !!!
It's like that scene from Return of the Mummy!

Jesus Christ, the modders have done MIRACLES with the modding tools.

Also I would totally main this faction. Nagash is my fave.
Amazing do more battles with more monster
Who is here after seeing the Release Trailer of this dlc on War hammer 2
When do you guys think they'll add Skaven? I don't know much of Warhammer, but from End Times, I really look forward to either a Skaven mod or DLC. I just like the idea of a rush of high number low quality troops, with higher tier elites available

Well you got a some studying to do!
In 10:23, Apollo says he is shooting some bows instead of arrows. Kinda funny.
i say that all the time lol
Yes! Someone finally got the name "herotitan" correct!
Great job with the mod, only the warsphinx doesn't look like that
Battle Penguins to arms!!!
Setra really ,he is the one who unified the kingdom's before signature, and got awaken from tomb by nagash foul play along with thousands of other Pharaoh's who have lived to date along with each one's armies,,and won the chaotic power struggle, the leader of tomb kings badass Setra..........
The Glowing Cav looks like Oathbrakers
Would you be able to Do a shogun 2 video in the future?
Why don't you do anymore campaigns I liked those
idk why people hate on warhammer its a fun game sure the games are short but the graphics are great theres a lot of different units in the game and the campaign is really fun
Dylan Nuttall i like how different the units and factions are. unlike attila with 4 germanic factions with same units but different colors
ya its dumb that the dlc cost so dam much
of course I would right for Nagash! unless this is before his seat. if this is his resurrection bro I would follow him to the ends of the earth, cause the earth ends lol
This has to be the new Third age gig
i find your lack of knowledge on settra..... disturbing
SETTRA DOES NOT SERVE!

Grab yur popcorn and get a drink let us watch a battle!
The tomb kings are freaky:0
Tomb kings vs vampire counts amazing
Hey apollo, would you mind showing unit stats and abilities when you show armies? That would be great especially when they are brand new....
yeah ill do that next time
The skeletons on warhammer are soooooooooooo rad
This is why I never play vampires because one minor setback and boom your entire army is gone lol
This fight reminded me of Third Age for some reason.
I like the big freaking king Titian boy
that fight was awesome

Is that song part of the battle cause i want to know the name
map looks dope
What's the name of the song used for the first 5 minutes?
"if you dont want to see the army comps there will be a timestamp in the description"
Apparently im more blind than the skeletons or that description doesn't have one.
