I love the dark comedy at 40:18 "They cant do anything their gonna die" and as you say that the trolls charge in and just before you see them hit the crossbows you move the camera away. I dunno that just played out so perfectly it made me chuckle.
In the Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies, the fact that the Orc Army didn't have any WOLVES OR WARGS in the main bulk of their army kinda dissuaded me from the Movie....
For your information I see no Wargs in the movie and they cut of the part where the Elves and Dwarves fight so yeah :( It just seems to Ruin the Epic Feel the moment you added Wargs to the intro Epic Intro BTW PA :D

that thorin vs azog and all the ork attacking bard anticipation is really what made the battle for me i cant believe thorin and azog actually fought man that was intense you weren't lieing
I just wanted to mention that Wood Elves did eat meat. The High Elves, and the Elves of Lorien did not, as they were more cultured and civilized. If you wanted a party, go to the Wood Elves, they drink and feast like no tomorrow.
it is stated in the books that feanor's sons were hunters, so that isn't entirely true either. in truth only the elves of ossiriand are some what specified to be vegetarians

there is also indoor wherein you can fight inside a structure.... very nice!!! imagine in Medieval 3 to have fortress, citadels, stronghold, etc in the battlemap wherein you can fight inside after the attacker breached the wall.... its epic!!!

This mod in three kingdoms total war would be incredible because you could do duels between generals and do this exact battle, but have it be more similar to the movie
"Pixie poo" I loved the intro but there was one thing bugging me a lot. You put wargs as an army in the battle but they're technically just a unit. The armies were Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Orcs of the Misty Mountains & the Orcs of Gundabad. Sorry it was just really bugging me but other than that I love your video and I wish I had a pc to play this game on and I love LOTR and this game definitely looks like my type of game but as soon as I get a pc and a profit from my job (I'm only 16) then I'm gonna play this game nonstop all because of your videos! THANK YOU PA!!!
they brought the most elite army.. so it was expected, but yeah in custom battle they cant bring the same size if they bring all elites, itd be like half the size, unless the money is set to very high.
30:18 You should look up Megaloceros giganteum, a.k.a the 'Irish Elk' (it's not really an elk, but whatevs). It's a species of deer that went extinct about 7,700 years ago and is absolutely glorious. A fine steed for an Elven king.
I do wonder if Kuro Guro Chan, Paladin Bob and the modding crew are interested in developing a "First Age" total war, - I know it's a completely different scale of task, with having to develop the maps and regions/settlements etc, but I feel that a lot of the models and factions are already 95% good to go... Easy for me to say over here on my lap top... But wouldn't it be great, with the Noldor and the Sindar and the factions of men and dwarves and trying to invade Angband to recover the Silmarils ;)
Although Dwarven cavalry is a pretty stupid idea gameplay-wise, since it kinda breaks the balance and throws away their one and only weakness which is their lack of mobility, ... I gotta say, it looks pretty damn awesomely cool. x)
Hey Apollo can you do a battle in the North during the War of the Ring? Where the Dwarves of Erabor and Men of Dale fought against the Armies of Harad and the Orcs of the Misty Mountains. The fought in pitched battles and then fell back the the Lonely Mountain, they each lost their respective Kings. After the Ring was destroyed some Haradium forces left and the Dwarves/Men pushed back all of the remaining forces. I would love to see a depiction of that battle and you can easily look it up online to get a better description. I really love the War in the North and it's significance.
Elves actually aren't vegetarian because they would have hunting party's and they would eat meat often but that all depends on where your hearing it from because different movies and books say different things about them.
Now is the turn for the orcs of gundabad to get a visual upgrade! They honestly look like shit (expect from the Carn Dum guys from DaC, but they are not from Gundabad). It would be cool to have some Orcs units looking like the ones from Azog's and Bolg's armies.

Very cool battle, love your videos as always Apollo but I do have one or three points just to make it even better 1) way to many elves for it to be a fair fight, you had an orc sized army of elves and that alone let me predict the outcome 2) sending those elves over to help kill azhog seemed unfair to me, it was the dwarves job, if they couldn't handle it tough, at least wait till every dwarves dead before you send help 3) putting bard in a massive unit of earls, and then in a tiny defensive space where the orcs had to trickle through took 70% of the tension out, all they have is their numbers, there way no way they were going to kill him before your giant elf army reached them Don't want to be to negative though, your videos are fantastic, you find great players to play with, it's got to be really hard finding stuff to talk about for hours at a time when it's a computer battle. Keep up the good work
Thankfully there were no anti-arrows ballistas. The goats were enough. Battle itself was great, the scenario is awesome and the models are also great. What a shame it's based on such a bad movie.
They should have named the dwarven goat unit the "battering ram" haha... haha... ok i'll see my self out.

Unsurprisingly, of course, the Elves completely wrecked everything. They had about as many troops as Dale and Dain, but three times as many kills.
