I look for a new job and change jobs every 3 months. Its because its too hostile, toxic, and the workloads are impossible to keep up. Not to mention dysfunctional and unorganized. Nobody wants to help and management runs out the door Monday-Thursday @ 3PM and 12 noon on Friday's. Don't care if the patients or staff are happy. They're only showing up for the paychecks.
Nurses do so much. They are truly angels on this earth. I wanted to pursue nursing but found it really doesn’t fit my personality. I really believe nurses do too much. The good thing if someone doesn’t want to pursue nursing they can do ultrasound, rad, OT, PT and respiratory therapy etc. Someone recomended pursuing respiratory therapy. When I went to the 2 year college near me they told me I had a good chance of being accepted. So I really think there should be more healthcare careers that specialize similar to how drs do. And then maybe that would lift some of the burden off nurses.
I agree I’m in NP school and I don’t know why they make new nurses in. I’ve been a nurse for 10 years and I am in psych NP school but I started out on the floor as a psych nurse on the floor and worked my way up. Nursing have changed drastically I’ve been in healthcare for 30 years since age 19 and started as a CNA. Most people going into nursing for the money and that’s it. Compassion and ethics gone out the door. I loved being a psych nurse, I love being a DON and I love being a cardiac nurse. I love nursing period
Honestly Nurse Patrice your channel is very helpful to the healthcare community. I don’t understand why members of the healthcare community don’t address these matters. And I learn a lot from your channel & appreciate the case studies, lessons & knowledge you share.
I was wandering last night whether I should pursue RN career or not. This video popped up, I think it's a sign for a complete NO I'm an empath, I put my heart on wherever I do. So, I won't.
I don't think bedside nursing is sustainable anymore. I also don't think being in nursing administration on an inpatient unit is either. The work never stops.
I'm not doing no two or more units. That's insanity. I worked too hard for my license, but they don't care.
So true...Crazy!

Not all management I don’t operate like that

Nurses are tired but they don't want bedside 😮
Seems Like this is the norm for all nurses...

"Compassion and ethics gone out the door" So true. Nursing has change and it is scary. I miss the good old days...Gone forever!

Thank you so much. Glad I was able to help.
And C.N.A’s don’t want to do their jobs
The C.N.A.'S are stress out too. They can only do so much with what is given to them.
CNA is an extremely hard job. I know because I was one.
CNAs are not paid enough for what they do

Oh wow!

A lot of nurses are reconsidering whether to stay as bedside nurse.
Traveling jobs are so bad because no workers short skeleton crew ,and too demanding.
Politics are in play
I had not taught above the politics. You have a good point!
Not good not safe
You hit a bunch of nails on the head.
