PRX Squat Rack Install

- This video shows how to install a PRX Pro Profile Squat Rack in a garage. This space saving rack is from PRX Performance. The website is prxperformance... I did look at the Rogue Fitness squat racks that were similar but the bottom mounting bracket is supposed to be installed just a few inches above the ground. There is a concrete curb that comes up about 3 to 5 inches against my garage wall, so installation would have been problematic. I have been very happy with the rack so far. I have recently added the two bar holder and the spotter arms from PRX. Thanks for watching and feel free to share, like, subscribe and comment! Thanks so much for making this video!! Our rack will be here any day now. Liked and subscribed.
Ibwomder if I can attach the rogue leverage arms to my 3x3 prx rack? Been thinking about selling it to get the wall rogue rack so I can buy roguebtrolley arms
If it's the same size/type of rack, you should be able to buy Rogue parts to add to a PRX rack. - Mike
@@mikesdoityourself yea the rogue trolley arms work on a 3x3 post. The trolley arms or leverage arms move up and down post racks so I gotta find out if the metal beams that attach to rack and wall will get in the way of the rogue arms?
@@futbol1972 I would call Rogue and get dimensions of the trolley/leverage arms- that way you can see if they fit on the PRX- Mike
@@mikesdoityourself I will but since the trolley arms move up and down the post of rack o was just wondering if they won't interfier with the prx metal thingies that are attached to wall?
Which color is this? It’s exactly what I’m looking for. Blue or sky blue? Looks brighter than their blue but not as light as their sky blue?
It's the sky blue color- the lighting is not the best in the garage which is throwing off the color. Good luck with your project!- Mike
Should I do rack pulls on my prx rack with the spotter arms or will this be bad for the bolts on wall?? I don't want them to get loose over time. I have two buldging disk so I wanna start doing rack pulls instead of deadlifts. There is someone who wants to buy it and will sell it if I can't do rack pulls on it to get rep fitness rack
Rack pulls shouldn't be an issue for this rack using the spotter arms. It's very durable so it should be no problem. Maybe if you were lifting super heavy weights- then I would keep an eye on the bolts after each use. Good luck! - Mike
@@mikesdoityourself thank u
Cool Vid Mike, What is the dimension between the wall and the outside edge of the upright when the rack in the lowered position? I am worried about my garage rail hitting the upright when the rack is in use.
74 inches tall and 22 inches from the wall to outside edge of the rack- hope this helps!- Mike
Great video! Just ordered mine yesterday. I’m curious, do you have any details on the rubber floor squares you are using? Thanks!
I got them from a tractor supply store- about 45$ per 6ft x 4ft section- about 3/4in thick, good luck!- Mike
From the way to stall mats look on the floor against the base you have a little slope in the garage, do you feel it at all when lifting or does the rack feel a little unbalanced? Thanks
The rack doesn't feel unbalanced at all. I have noticed anything with the slope- the only thing I've noticed is the mats have separated about a half inch. This may be caused by the temperature in the garage going from cold/warm or just shifting from stepping on them without having the mats backed up to anything on 3 sides. It took a few months for this to happen and I can easily push them back, so no real issue. Good luck! - Mike
Ordered mine yesterday, curious how long did it take to actually make it to your house?
It took about 4 1/2 weeks before the rack got shipped and about another week for delivery. For the two bar storage and spotter arms, it took 4 weeks to ship and 1 week for delivery. Home/ office weight equipment is in high demand still. Eventually the supply will catch up. - Mike
Hi, great video. Did I get the short prx rack (70")? I just received my prx short rack. I think I got exactly the one you have except mine is in red.
I have to move my outlet up cause it will get in the way of bottom bracket I think :(
How far from from floor to bottom bracket, and how far from floor to higher bracket? Thank u
@@futbol1972 Thanks, this rack is the shorter rack- 19inch from the floor and 51 inch spacing between mounting brackets - all the measurements in the video are for the shorter rack-you do have a few inches that you can move the mounting brackets up or down because they are on struts- it should mention this in the instructions- the spacing between the top and bottom brackets have to be exact though- Good luck!- Mike
Yea have to move outlet up a few inches.
My outlet is at 19" from floor to outlet.
I do have the short rack too.
So it has to be 19" from floor to the top edge of the bracket right and 52" in between?
Mike's Do It Yourself hello. I have 8 foot ceilings and your install looks like it is the same! I’ve been searching all day for someone like this lol. is your ceilings at 8 foot? If so How did you order his version? And what is the distance between your ceiling and the top of the rack where the pull up bar would be when extended out?
If the floor in my garage has a slope do I need to take this in to account when installing?
If it's a major slope than yes, a small slope shouldn't give you any issues- most are sloped slightly because of drainage in case of water leakage from the house or garage- Good Luck! - Mike
Hello do you know anything about the prx app? I was told before I bought my prx squat that I will be getting new prx workouts on prx app but so far they have been the same ones. Got tired of doing the same ones all the time. Lol
I haven't looked into any apps for the squat rack yet but I do know there are other apps that can give you daily workouts- that's something I would like to do in the future. Good luck with your workouts! - Mike
Thank u
Your numbers are different. Mine says to go 88” from mat/floor to the top on center.
Yes, this rack is the shorter rack w/out the pull up bar - you must have the taller rack that will measure differently.- Good luck with the install. -Mike
I would also add if you want to make sure you hit a stud use a small drill/bit make a small hole see if you hit a stud. If you miss you can always patch it up. However using a stud finder really helps.
That's great. This one was out of stock and we went with Tydax Fitness.Checkout our video at ua-cam.com/video/VWoy5ot4lFg/v-deo.html
