In this PRX Performance PRO rack review I’ll walk you through everything there is to know about this wall mounted folding squat rack and pull up bar.
The rack comes in two versions:
The Profile PRO and the Profile.
The PRO version comes with (2) 3 x 3 uprights that hold over 1000 lbs of weight.
You have the option to select two different heights.
For the 7’6” uprights you’ll need a ceiling height of 8’11”.
For the 8’ uprights you’ll need a ceiling height of 9’5”.
There is a way to work around short ceilings and that is by lowering the angle of the linkage arms.
The PRX performance rack uses a vertical motion to mount to the wall and this makes it super easy because there’s no disassembly required.
Other wall mounted folding squat racks fold with a side to side motion and that requires a bit more work.
The PRX performance rack comes with 4 120 lbs gas shocks that assist you with the up and down movement.
The bottom of the wall mounted folding squat rack comes with plastic foot plates to prevent scratching the floor and it stays safely folded against the wall by inserting a hitch pin through one of its holes.
The PRX performance racks comes with 2 heavy duty j-hooks, laser cut numbers (pro version), and you can pick from 7 powdered coated colors (pro version).
The top of the rack comes with a regular pull up bar and a kipping pull up bar.
The kipping pull up bar extends more than 3 feet off the wall so you have enough room to exercise without hitting the wall.
As far as accessories go you can attach plenty of equipment without a problem.

@UCPlJqyZq8rod4mnl9UwjEyA I have this one ShreddedDad.com/bench
I have this one. It was fucken expensive, but I LOVE it. I enjoy going to my gym every day. Feels luxury with all the PRX accessories, it's just elegant.
I love mine too. No complaints.
Excellent vid, good info delivered in clear and concise verbiage. Thank you. I watch 4 or 5 other vids and they were all done by people that loved the sound of their own voices, wasting way too much of my time trying to be glib and flashy. Again Thank you for not wasting my time.
You're welcome
That dips bar and spotter arm right in the bottom this might be the nutcracker setup🥜😵
Lol it was just to show different attachments on the rack at the same time.
I never get my jewels that close to solid metal.
Hopefully you take out the spotter arm when doing dips nice video tho bro
Thanks!
If you are parking over the space in your garage, I would be curious to hear about the flooring solution you use and park over and if you have issues with weather/chemical leaks or anything. Thanks!
Watch this video so you can see the mats I use ua-cam.com/video/tcHBu1cqrYQ/v-deo.html
They are water proof so any water leaks can be mopped right off
Haven’t had any car issues so no oil leaks
I have a 8ft ceiling I thought this was the one for me😔. I really wanted the bar to be straight when it came down not fold it half way..
Thank you for sharing. Very well explained!
You're welcome
Thanks for the video
You’re welcome
Great review thank you.
Thank you..Very Good video, we love the rack and are looking for a Bench that allows Flat, Incline & decline bench press and is also collapsible. The PFID125X Powerline Bench that you have is out of stock with no date on restocking . Can you recommend a replacement bench.
We're in a Condo and will be turning a spare bedroom into gym so space is critical, the main items i want are the PRX Rack , a good bench and a Cable rack ..........Once again Thank you for taking the time to do this

Jose you’re providing an invaluable service at such a critical time for us all, we couldn’t believe how fast you responded to us with a great Bench… and it’s in stock ….Thank you!
In addition to the Bench, we’re going to purchase the PRX Performance Rack the Prime HLP Plate Loaded Single Stack( Cable Machine) primefitnessusa.com/plate-loaded-single-stack/,
the Topeakmart Premium Steel Bike Bicycle Indoor Exercise Trainer Stand/Bike Trainerwww.amazon.com/dp/B00P2BD1TE/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_eevZEbW47SNCF
and Hexagon Rubber dumbbells. We are open to any advice you may have, we’re trying to find a cheaper cable machine.
Thank you & Stay Safe
I'm also looking for a leg extension/ leg curl attachment
Leg extension/curl attachments I've only seen sold together with a bench.
There's lots of exercises you can do to substitute for those.
Bulgarian split squats, RDLs, front squats, etc.
You ever done Nordic curls for hamstrings? They're way harder than regular curls. Check it out instagram.com/p/B3hMo7xDYzB/?igshid=1jrpkhgg1r05u

Outstanding review
Thanks for watching 👊
thank you for your review! what's you take on case when gas shocks stopped working? is there any replacements options?
I'm sure they have replacements. I haven't had any problems with mine but the company should have all the parts.
I which they would ship to Europe.
excellent review
Thanks for watching 👊
Great video. I have the same rack, I love it...!! How did you attached the battle rope anchor? I bought one from PRX but it did not come with any screws to attach to the rack. Just the wall.
I bought some at home depot
Looks like it works great! Very efficient.
Yes very practical and space saving
Awesome 👌 thanks again
What happens if you fail a bench without a spotter?
Use spotter arms
Hi! Can you do pull-ups with a bar on the j hooks, or does it get in the way? Say, I wanted to superset squats and pull-ups.
Yeah you can do that
That was great man thanks.
You’re welcome. Glad it helped.
How many inches from the floor are the stud-mounted wall plates?
I have them at 44 and 64 inches off the floor. They can be placed at any height you want.
Nice vid and review....Out of curiosity why did you opt for the pro model instead of the base model? I’m on the fence of which one to purchase.
I just wanted the thicker rack. Just my preference. I'm sure the profile rack works just as well.
Super explaination.👍👌🧘
Glad you found it helpful
I have been looking at this for a few months but it’s so pricey. Is it worth the price? I just don’t want to have buyers remorse. And where did you get that bench I like how compact it is. Thanks.
Definitely worth it and yes it's pricey but you'll never need a rack again.
The bench is this one ShreddedDad.com/bench
Shredded Dad oh so it’s that good? Will definitely look into it more I do prefer this over the rogue. Thanks for the reply.
Thank you for the great review! Do you have a video on setting up?
I didn't record the installation but PRX has a video.
Here it is ua-cam.com/video/dD1VdOdL_wA/v-deo.html
Why is it 2 pull up bars on it? Multiple people working out?
It has a kipping bar that sticks out. The other pull up bar just gives the rack added support. Both can be used. One is taller than the other so it could be used in a household with people of different heights.
How much does it cost? I checked the wed site and it’s out of order and doesn’t give a price.
Depends on what you get since they have several options, but for the most basic one it's at least $750
is that battle rope attachment the official one? if so, does it just easily screw into place? like, no modifications or anything? It's just that the website advertises it as a wall mount.
Also, when you mention "compatible with many different attachments," again, is that many different attachments from PRX or just pretty compatible with other brands, as well?
The battle rope anchor I got is this one ShreddedDad.com/anchor
It’s not PRx brand and other attachments (non PRx) work as long as you match it to the upright size.
I have a Titan dip bar and spotter arms and they work perfectly with PRx
For the battle rope anchor I did have to get bolts from the hardware store since it comes with wall mounting hardware.
But those are cheap to get
@@ShreddedDad thank you so much for the responses, man! keep on the the great (and funny) content!!!
@@jedstuhr 👊
Where did you get those orange pins on your rack? I’ve been looking for those to connect my cross over symmetry
You can find it here ShreddedDad.com/pin
Can you do a review on the dip attachment? I’m always leery of a single point attachment. Is it pretty stable. How much play or movement is there?
I did one on the Titan dip attachment I use on my PRx. Check it out here ua-cam.com/video/SpqU8wcRI8w/v-deo.html
Do you still go to a gym or do you do all of your excercise at home exclusively?
How sturdy is the rack for dips?
If I get it, should attach the rack to a concrete wall or will it be ok attached to sheet rock?
I've been working out from home for about 2 years. I'm not going back to a gym.
And yes the rack is sturdy for dip bars, you can watch this video where I show a dip bar ua-cam.com/video/SpqU8wcRI8w/v-deo.html
The rack can be attached to both concrete or wooden studs.
Were you able to do a diy pully on this rack?
Yes, watch this video ua-cam.com/video/TGxpFtcbEg0/v-deo.html
@@ShreddedDad thanks! Could it work with the profile rack instead? I don't really need a Kip up bar, standard pull ups are my jam :)
@@ajmunn1229 I think it can work
Hey, it's me again. Lol just got my prx up and 1st lift in. I saw a video on instragram of you using your prx with diy jammer arms. I noticed the hitch pins down near the ground. I can find those I have the bands. What did you use to hang /hold the bar? How was it and would you make any changes now from that original posting?
And my brute sandbag is on its way, thanks for your reply on that question.
Cheers
Congrats on setting it up and banging out that first lift 💪.
I used some seatbelt like straps I had lying around but you could probably use gymnastic rings straps.
Just make sure they are rated for a lot of weight.
You're gonna love that sandbag!
I wonder how these will do outside
Not sure if they are rust proof. You may have to ask the company about that one.
Very dope!💯
👊
Do you happen to know that’s the gauge on those linkage arms?
I don’t know what the gauge on the arms is
Do you feel the second pull up bar gets in the way when doing toes to bar?
No. I face away from the wall so there's nothing in front of me.
How tall is your ceiling?
9 ft 5 inches tall but these racks can fit even short ceilings. The arms can be angled downward so the rack doesn’t go up high when it folds.
What are the holes spaced at on the front and sides?
On the front they're spaced out 2" on center. On the sides they're 6" on center.
What means the numbers on the red bars?
The numbers are just used for your reference. Certain exercises may need you to move the j-cups or attach accessories at different heights based on your height or preference.
Just makes it easier to remember where to place things.
does the bench incline for incline bench press?
Not the PRX bench. Their bench is just flat.
I bought this one instead ShreddedDad.com/bench
I do remember this on Shark Tank. A really smart & intriguing product. But my ? for you is thou have far does it come out from the wall length wise when fully extended with the pull up bar? Are we talking 45', 52'? I don't see this on their website.
40" from the pull up bar to the wall
That's for the kipping pull up bar. They now have the option for a multi-grip bar that sticks out less.
Damn that Is easily roughly 15in less the most power racks. Thanks
@@ShreddedDad I did see that that would be a GREAT peace to have. I'm not that good at pull ups so that would give you more versatililty. Thou it's similar to the ETHOS one from DICKS SPORTS and ROUGE FITNESS.
Yeah I'd prefer the multi-grip over the kipping bar but I'm stuck with it.
Thank you !
You're welcome
@@ShreddedDad Now all I have to do is convince the wife "she" needs this !
@@LuisHernandez-kw6rt lol best of luck to you. Show her the video and maybe that'll help to convince her.
Getting ready to order my rack. Thanks for your information. I saw that you attached the battle rope to the bottom of the rack. Is meant for that or can it be attached to the wall. I was thinking about ordering two battle rope holders and use attach them to the wall so I can use bands for resistance training on deadlifts. Thanks.
They're meant for the wall. I just bought different screws and hooked it up the rack.
@@ShreddedDad Many thanks for your quick response. I am looking forward to getting my rack.
It's a great rack. You're gonna love it.
How far out from the wall does it come when folded?
About 4 inches
Awesome!
Yes it's awesome!
Are you able to do bar muscle ups on that bar?
Yes you can as long as your ceiling is high enouhh
Can u get pegs for band attachments for speed work?
I don't think prx has any pegs for the racks. I use hitch pins and attach bands to them. You can see what I mean in this video ua-cam.com/video/Ngocz3f0k7c/v-deo.html
@@ShreddedDad meh I don't think that could work for me. Look up westside barbell dynamic effort squat and you'll see what I mean by bands.b
Is the bench flat or does it incline as well
The prx bench is flat. I'm using another brand that's adjustable. It's this one ShreddedDad.com/bench
That's about all I got too,,,,,,,, 4"!
😂
Awesome Awesome very nice 👌 👍
Yeah the racks are quality. Mine looks new after 2 years of use.
I'm want to place an order today. The bars are out of stock. Any recommendations on alternative brands?
Where did you get your bench mount?
All other brands don't the rack that folds up and down. Would you be ok with a rack that folds side to side like doors?
@@ShreddedDadthanks for responding. I'm talking about the bar to put weights on. They are out of stock.
Try this company shreddeddad.com/repfitness
@@ShreddedDad thanks but I didn't see the bench mount on there
I thought you meant the barbell. You mean the wall mount to put weight plates on the wall?
Curious what's the spacing between the two upright posts - 42 or 43"? Thanks so much!
I’ll have to check later when I’m home
It’s 41.5”
@@ShreddedDad Thank you! PRX video consultation said 42" so was wondering if I can use other brand's pull up bars with it
My measuring tape says 41.5”
Where did you get the incline bench hanging on the wall? I assume it's an incline bench?
Yes it can incline, it's an adjustable bench.
You can find it here ShreddedDad.com/bench
If it's not available you can find others here ShreddedDad.com/benches
What workout bench are you using?
The bench is this one ShreddedDad.com/bench
@@ShreddedDad What did you use to hang the bench on the wall?
@@nicholasterrell1301 these are the hooks ShreddedDad.com/hooks
What bench do you have?
I have this one ShreddedDad.com/bench
@@ShreddedDad i just order the prx one but I noticed that it doesn't incline or decline. How were you able to store the one you have?
Yeah the PRX bench is flat. I hung my bench up using hooks like these ShreddedDad.com/hooks
@@ShreddedDad 👍 might have to cancel or return the prx bench and go your route
Yeah, when I was looking into buying the PRX, I didn't like their bench so I went with something that had the incline / decline option.
For my garage, I went with with a folding bench that I can hang up on the wall because I park my car inside.
No one has any promo codes
