Yeah he definitely underestimates it, makes the same estimation fault kai did😅
Even if Kai has such a huge pull, Ludwig underestimates his

Ludwig is really playing down how bad this was. You have to know with the kind of numbers Kai pulls that people would show up. Even the people around him were suggesting 10,000 people might show up. You have to be more responsible with your influence in those situations. Fan culture creates a lot of ignorance and stupidity, especially in easily manipulated minds. I hope lots of lessons are learned from this.
Probably not lmao, in murica you gotta give these idiots punishment to make them learn a lesson
I was literally just thinking this. Lud is downplaying the situation hella. People could've died because of poor planning. Doesn't matter how young Kai is, at the very least his team should've known better.
@@tyche3576 ludwig literally said people could have died and its great that it didn't go that far.... and it's not ludwig downplaying, it's media overplaying (You know a black twitch streamer inciting riot with teenagers of colors, they love that)... a lot of murders, rape, gunshoots happen in NYC but they dont get this much coverage
anyway I dont mind this much coverage for this as the situation was definitely bad so I do hope this matter teaches the social media stars a lesson of their power
@@sakib_h yeah I get he mentioned that people could’ve died, but the way he said it just didn’t seem like that was an issue. Which makes sense, Lud just content that this didn’t lead to something more serious. I just wish lud used this moment as an example to other influencers to be smarter about this kind of shit. Not saying he didn’t but hopefully you get what I mean.
All true except "it creates ignorance and stupidity", it doesn't, it just brings it out more, the majority of people on earth are inherently ignorant and stupid.
Calling inciting a riot ""Twitch Drama" is insane
Yeah that shit had me dead

The problem with just anyone becoming a streamer is that they will hit legitimate celebrity status and there's no one to advise them on decision making like this, like when was the last time an actor said "hey meet me *here* on said date" ever.
1.) This was scarily close to being the Astroworld of the streaming community
2.) Ludwig seems to have the same misunderstanding that Kai did, saying if he did something like this that not many people would show up
Jesus Christ, this is a prime example of legit brainrot within a streamer's community. Also Kai is lucky shit didn't escalate any further than it already did cos man, imagine someone getting killed because of this clown fiesta.

One thing you have to consider as well is the unique capacity for people in New York to mobilize for an event like this. The public transportation system enables many people to attend, particularly minors, who wouldn’t otherwise have the ability to reach the meet up location.
If Kai had the same theoretical viewer base in LA as he does in New York and scheduled a giveaway there, I doubt you would see nearly as many people show up.
uh... LA still has busses and a metro? It might be worse, idk, but it would HARDLY make a difference. You sound like a redditor
This is why things should be planned and organized and not just thrown out there on a whim. He knows how big he is, ofcourse people will show up. He has the responsibility to make sure this kind of give aways happens accordingly. People want free stuff, but what really makes me sad is how this whole thing became like animals who got out from zoo and started to get wild with no remorse with all the properties they destroyed. This should not be taken lightly. These people are ceazy.
This is how crowd crushing happen. Kai is very lucky that it didn't end in a tragedy with someone's death. When people all started to run away because of police, it could have turned out really bad. Heck, it did turn out bad because now people will associate his viewers with breaking cars, stealing stuff from shops and throwing stuff at police officers.
"people will now associate his viewers with breaking cars stealing stuff from shops and throwing stuff at police officers" Kai cenat is a very lowclass low intelligence individual it goes to show that his viewers would be likeminded because people who are not like that don't watch that type of trash content when you make trash content you attract trashy people and what do trashy people do? this this is what they do.
A single death associated with this situation, regardless of whether it was legitimately Kai's fault or not, would have had him in prison. It wasn't necessarily his fault, but I hope people who incited violence and mob mentality are charged.
Additionally, however, crowd crushing isn't incited by the size of a crowd. He could had have 50,000 people show up, and no crushing occur, because a crowd crush is dependent on the density of people and usually not the amount. Considering there was lots of room, and people weren't packed liked sardines, this was really never a worry.
@@FelixHelixit 100% was his fault
There's tens of videos of plenty of people who just showed up hoping to get electronics and then were caught in group fights and people throwing shit from roofs and windows

He openly stated he wanted this to happen during stream. I like Kai alright, but I gotta say I do hope this ends with at least a few months of jail time. This was incredibly irresponsible, and he needs to face consequences that reflect the seriousness of the issue.
He expected 500 people lmao, you're reaching.
Jail time for what ? He can't control those people the most he deserves is a fine and that's all.
@@dre7147 He's already been charged with 2 counts of inciting a riot, along with 2 other charges.
NY Law:
"Section 240.08 - Inciting to riot
A person is guilty of inciting to riot when he urges ten or more persons to engage in tumultuous and violent conduct of a kind likely to create public alarm.
Inciting to riot is a class A misdemeanor."
Kai thought he could get 500 people there. The law states 10 or more people is a riot. There were 7,000+ people there. That certainly fits within the definition of the law. So he could be convicted of a class A misdemeanor, what does that mean? Here are the sentencing guidelines for a class A misdemeanor:
"The sentences for a conviction to an “A” misdemeanor offense can include community service, a fine, mandatory state surcharges, issuance of an order of protection, two, three or more years of probation, up to one year in the county or city jail, such as Rikers Island, or a split sentence which includes a shorter period of incarceration for a period of time, such as 60 days, and then a longer period of probation following release from the jail."
Personally, I think that a doing 6 months of jail time out of a maximum of 12 months for literally inciting a riot and causing a danger to the public is more than reasonable. He's a pseudo-celebrity, there are lots of people watching this, and streamers need to know that this kind of thing can't and won't be tolerated. It's not safe for anybody involved, or uninvolved, you know? Like, the people inside the SUV that the people were holding onto could’ve been hurt, or been afraid and then drove through a crowd of people or something. In my opinion, they need to set a precedent from this for the safety of others.
I'm going to go out on a limb without having full context to say... I think he was participating in hyperbole to hype the event up. I'd call it an unfortunate choice of words given some retrospect on the situation, but I wouldn't call it "planned" without further evidence. It'd be like me getting charged with murder after offering a peanut cookie to someone allergic to peanuts after saying "This cookie is to die for".

I work in the news in NYC. Basically every person we interviewed compared it to Astroworld and I think Kai needs to realize that sobering reality that we're just really lucky no one was seriously hurt or died. Crowd surges are a real thing, and lack of security is a real thing -- we're very lucky no one brought a weapon. He cant act like he did not know this would happen. He has a mass following. He should have been more strategic in planning rather than saying show up. He will most likely receive heavy fines for the damages and disturbance caused
It's hard to say because it's difficult to guess fan turnout. After the pandemic ppl like Rae became safety hazards at conventions just because of how many people wanted a photo. On the flip side some tiktokers with millions of followers had empty panels. Not saying this is the case here, but sometimes it's unexpected just how many people actually want to meet you
Bro cut him some slack he just became famous, he probably didn’t know his real level of fame he didn’t even think 1000 people would show up . It's not surprising his fans are this dumb, but it's also sad that they would take advantage and be so uncivilised. Basic human decency is now suddenly a gift.
Mob mentality. Sometimes regular people turn into penises that don’t know how to act when they’re in large groups.
As a Kai Cenat viewer I can say this is his stupidest idea yet, no planning, didn’t account for any wild ass mfs who might bring guns, didn’t account for security and how to keep people in check and didn’t communicate with any sort of venues or the nypd. “There was not as much movement” lmaooo
Internet “influencers” pretending that they don’t know how much..ahem..INFLUENCE!!! they have is getting tired and disingenuous. Insane to think that an influencer can sit back on millions they make from literal fans and then act like those fans won’t be rabid when told that there’s an unorganized public event happening in a large metropolitan area
Don't forget that they're also handing out free stuff. People go crazy over free stuff, especially if it's that expensive
I think Kai doesn't care enough. I think he's going to keep repeating mistakes like this because it brings him more fame (or infamy, rather).
this is what bothers me. he should take responsibility and be accountable as he is a public figure. pay for the damages before he starts handing out ps5's
I think Kai does care on a certain level but won’t show it as much.
Part of him is surprised by the amount of people who showed up and actually enjoying the fact he’s so popular that this could happen.
Half of him knows what happened is wrong and messed up and i don’t think he will do it again.
Not to mention that any fame he gains from this will be false fame, because now his image will be centered around being the guy who caused a mass riot that destroyed a city
Ludwig needs to do the Gotham Chess intro now.
Ludwig literally self roasting calling himself Fred from Scooby-Doo lol
not to mention, the crowd throwing bottles at the police; and how the crowd stole and disrupted multiple gryro and halal stands who where caught in the crossfire. I feel so bad for everyone who was caught in the crossfire here.
Given the cops were shoving innocent bystander's faces *THROUGH* windshields, they really can't be out here bitching about a couple bottles

The state of new york should sue. For damages, cops getting injured, not having permit, etc. Make a point out of him
seems to me like the only people inquired were injured by the NYPD smashing their face through a window.

Suddenly the Pattinson's Batman movie seems a little more real than before
I also think people acted like that because of Kai's type of content, always been something "crazy" has to happen and so much energy. Not that it's his fault but his audience probably expected something insane happening like in his streams. Can't think of another creator where people would expect something like that to happen, probably a much more chill gathering.
Yeah a Ludwig gathering like that would probably be just a bunch of lonely nerds yelling "BOYS!" at each other
He's nurturing the "hood culture" through his manner on his streams so his fans reacting like this isn't so out of expectations, atleast how i see it.
Lud, bud, I have to break it to you. You have, in no hyperbolic terms, immense pull from your status as a youtuber. Content creators online do NOT understand the power they have unless they built their base on that purpose. I'd wager that the top 1% of streamers might could have minor sway on an election even. In the US kids have been content-brained; the effects of the internet and instant communication on the human collective conscious are only just beginning.
Valid points
Yes, because a random guy understands Ludwig's fanbase more than himself especially when he has done multiple events where his fans gathered.
Remember that most of Lud’s viewers are closer to his age. Kai obviously had a bunch of people who weren’t adults and kids are more out of control generally. Lud doesn’t make high energy yelling content that would attract people who would trash the streets. I imagine if you got 7000 of Lud’s viewers in NY it would be a lot more chill than what happened with Kai. The content that a streamer makes determines who their viewers are obviously.
Audiences, oftentimes, are spread across multiple nations and are not, for the most part, this concentrated. A person with an active dedicated and permanent viewer base of 50k people that would show up at any event, usually has this audience split across the entire Anglosphere and the European Union, where English based media is primarily consumed. Kai is an exception, his audience seems very highly concentrated in a specific subculture of the USA.

God this infuriates me. This isn’t a time for a light take, this unacceptable all around. How many subscribers does he have???! It’s stupid of him to think this was a good idea, not to mention his fans are the worst kind of brain rot & doing shit to be or look “cool”. All around unacceptable & these kids are the worst fanbase u could possibly have
Things like this haven't really happened before. I'm not a Kai fan other than passingly having a positive opinion of him from him being mentioned mostly by Ludwig, but how is he supposed to know that hosting a public event could turn into that shitshow?
@@sere971why do you think whenever a pop star/famous people doing public event they will need planning and security in place ? Because this will happen and it happened before. The only thing that is fair comparing to the outcome here is his intellegence
@@sere971because he didn’t even “host” an event lmao he straight up just said “meet me here for free shit”. Dude didn’t plan a single thing out and this is what happens
when i saw kai pull off from the crowd my first thought was "people are gonna follow him and find out where he lives"
low and behold, they did lol.
Ludwig's getting better on ventriloquism
Can't believe nobody with Kai or Kai thought to bring something like a megaphone, bro was literally screaming into the void asking them to be chill
Even if it was only 500 people it would still be insane to bring zero equipment, how could they have possibly given away enough for a crowd of 500 people anyways?
The problem is the streamer sets the vibe for their community. Chill people tend to have chill communities. Streamers that do what they want and don't hold themselves to any standards have communities that do the same. I hope Kai now realizes that he needs to make sure his community knows that this type of behavior isn't what he's about. This is a failure of planning, of course you get chaos when you randomly say "in 48 hours be here" with no plan.
It’s a big stretch to say Kai “doesn’t hold himself to any standards” just because his stream is high energy
Ludwig would never be able to freeze his face like Mogul Mail can
Mystery Van joke underrated Fred, that was good.
As someone who was there moments before the riot I really think we should’ve saw this coming. There were a few policemen, everyone was croweded together kinda like they were waiting on a line but the line was a blob, everyone there was smoking weed and as soon as you got there you smelled it. And lasty people were very loud and were yelling as well as unintentionally blocking streets.
