    Blue Lock is great, it's a shonen with football. I do think Blue Lock is better in terms of pure hype, but I do believe that Ao Ashi goes under the radar as the football anime. In Ao Ashi, they talk tactics, half spaces, positions, how youth football academies work, real life matches, etc.

    • @itshyfen

      yea, but i think i prefer blue lock just for how extra and over the top it is lol. its so edgy its both hilarious and hype

      Anime wise i definitely prefer blue lock for what it is.
      But manga wise i prefer ao ashi. But there's this manga that goes super underrated called Days, and personally it taught me much more about football( both when i was novice to it all and when i read it again with a bit more understanding)
      Ao ashi teaches some really decent tactics, but it also seems hyper focused on one type of playstyle being like ultimate
      When I read Days, it kinda compares and contrasts each moment and tactic, and different type of footballers and spectators derive different concepts from a particular play, and it gives you some really well rounded concepts that you can apply to both in real life and in football
      I definitely recommend Days as a manga(the anime didn't get a good enough budget to make it worth while)

    I know the video is old, but I want to give my thougths: I think that what makes blue lock strikers so good is the level of consciousness that they put in a match, I mean, if you think in your goals or matches, normally you just run to one place to another without too much in your head, it just memory and being use to play in certain position. In blue lock, every character plays with an objective in his head and thinking what they did and what to do(what to improve and why they fails). I was trying to play against my friends with that in mind and I found that run less than before, but with better chances to score because I am in a better position, when I am deffending I try to look everyone in the field, so I am always thinking in the next pass, blocking that position instead of block the player. I am forcing my rivals to play as I want, in a low level, but I think that almost everything in blue lock is completly possible.

    The formula for success in football is not all about building a team around a star player. Neither the Barcelona, with Neymar, Suarez & Messi or the Iniesta, Xavi, Barcelona were a "one star" team (especially the latter, where teamplay was KEY to success, NOT ego & individual play). The CR7 Real Madrid era had the best midfielders and defenders to ever play the game. Messi is 100% NOT a egoist player, could be argued for Ronaldo, and Mbappe is not even close to those two. Sure, some games have huge individual performances but at the end of the day having a structured team with both solid defence and offense is what wins championships. Blue Lock is fun but it's very unrealistic.

    • @itshyfen
      @itshyfen  Рік тому +7

      You're actually right, I feel like I shouldve changed my wording because yeah of course a team isnt ONLY run by 1 player. But you cant deny that some players are able to inspire their whole team. and I think you need some kind of sense of self importance to be that leader figure.
      In a literal sense yes its a team sport so of course the overall performance of every podition matters, but some teams do better when they are all inspired by a certain star player
      I think ill try to explain this point better again on part 2

      Cap Messi could be considered an egoist, look at many of his solo goals there are many moments where he could have passed with a guaranteed goal but he didn’t and his team mates don’t argue because they know it’s Messi and I think the reason people consider Ronaldo an egoist is because he talks outside the game and of course Messi isn’t as much of an egoist as described in bl because it’s an anime and everything is exaggerated

      @@jishnuadhikari5234 To be a player of that calibre for a long time and not succumb to pressure while keeping your composure nearly every game, you need to have ego. I don’t think Messi will ever be or has ever been as egotistical as Cristiano Ronaldo but an ego is what you need to be the best. Maybe he’s not showing it outwardly like CR7 but he 100% has an ego. Messi’s shy off-the-field personality makes people think he doesn’t have it but you can have an ego regarding something you love and know you’re the best at and still admit that there are other things in life where you’re imperfect. Messi’s key is to be humble (outwardly) without humbling yourself (inwardly) and for that, he needs to feed his inner ego.

However, his position? My man was named the King of Offside for a reason. The moment you took your eyes off of Inzaghi, he scores. His position and his direct shot got unmatched accuracy at the time. blue lock shows football in its best actions constantly, never going beyond the limit of realism, for this is a fantastic anime, because what you see you can potentially replicate, clearly it takes a great commitment and a lot of training, But you can do it, you can be like a bachira doing skills at every action or isagi doing direct shots. I like to think of blue lock as not unrealistic but like most anime it's over exadurated sure some of the plays are crazy and vary consistent especially for high schoolers it is still semi based in reality and I think that's cool even meta vision wail stupidly unrealistic as it may seem and kinda is does have some roots real life a top player of a sport should be able to have a general idea of were there teammates or opponents are at any time

    Messi said he doesn’t even believe nor believed he was the best, he also said being the best was never his goal his goal was only to play football and have fun. Some aspect of blue lock are true but compared to the amont of things that are either not true or totally false is astonishing, if you want to read a Real football manga with real development and that blue lock took inspiration from read Ao Ashi

    • @itshyfen
      @itshyfen  Рік тому

      Thats true. I wasnt watching blue lock for the realism anyways, its very extra nature is what makes it stupidly fun for me. but it was nice to compare which ones they DID get right.
      And yeah messi has always been incredibly humble, but you need some sort ego to be the person who commands the argentinian team.

    • @wigosas
      @wigosas Рік тому +2

      @@itshyfen To be honest I feel Messi isn't even commanding his team, even if he's captain.
      He is more like the hope and pride of the other players and thanks to his charisma and humbleness everybody is encouraged to be the best player possible, to finally give him a world cup.
      Half of the game he's standing still but teammates want to pass to him because he is reliable and he can gain time to create better action, he has the captain spirit more than ego
      And for France it's similar, while they had a star player like Mbappe, every player preferred to pass to Giroud because he has that captain spirit and created more chances, that then Mbappe used to score

    As a football player, fan and enthusiast born and raised in Argentina (a football-obsessed culture) I just hate the whole 'egoism' part so much. It's supposed to be a commentary on japanese society which frowns massively upon such things, but it doesn't reflect the reality of football, one of the most tactically developed team sports out there. Sure, there is a certain level of self-confidence that is necessary to operate at an elite level, but that's the thing, that's the bare minimum. If anything, at a high enough level, it is precisely tactical and team awareness, communication, game-reading skills (which are essentially people-reading skills) and such collective play skills which make the great stand out from the good. It's literally one of the biggest differences between Ronaldo (pure ego) and Messi (ego+teamplay) and what basically makes Messi stand out above everyone else.

    • @itshyfen
      @itshyfen  Рік тому

      I mean, I didnt say ego was ALL YOU NEEDED. I was saying that it has SOME truth to it. And even with all the ego talk in Blue Lock there is still A LOT of teammwork shown. Even the show knows you cant win on your own. (Barou may be egotistic but he has passed many times when he absolutely had to)

    • @playmakerzz2065
      @playmakerzz2065 Рік тому +1

      Exactly, there's a reason why Ronaldo's in Saudi Arabia whilst Messi's still looking at playing high level European football. Confidence is mportant but key egoism like in Blue Lock is going to have you end up having a career like Ballotelli which is annoying how most of the fanbase go over the top with the whole egoism thing

    Funny enough blue lock actually has a lot of similarities in how teams cultivate their talent. Only the strongest survives and gets to be on Real Madrid, Barcelona etc. your friends are also your rivals if you slip up for even a moment someone else will overtake you and if you can’t hang well you get tossed aside and replaced by someone else. It’s pretty similar in that aspect actually, but it’s also obviously exaggerated a lot and of course also is an anime of course so that’s to be expected. But it’s really awesome and super fun to watch!
