I disagree with the comment that it was stupid for Ego to have teenagers play against world class players. He didn't expect them to win, he expected them to lose, he wanted them to learn the difference in their current skill level and the actual pros. You can see that initially all of the players think they have a chance, but eventually, their confidence dies and that's exactly what Ego wanted.
Ego only did that to show that their not even at the top of the food chain yet so they would wake up from reality and train harder instead of taking it easy after all that
I used to be hella fucking annoyed at the people who would go “No comments with so many likes?,” but seriously how is there not a single comment with 1k likes???

1:07 no, he doesn't, he fully expects the world players to hand the kids asses to them on a plater. The point of that sequence is to be a wake up call after all the training they did in S1. It's to show them directly what they are aiming for.
You should consider checking out Captain Tsubasa. Thats the one that inspired and gave the way for footballer in japan, blue lock was because of the world cup, but Captain Tsubasa inspired everyone.
Ego having the kids play against the professional players expecting them to lose was one of the parts that made sense... the impossible moves, the consistency with which they pull this of (remember, no one makes mistakes in blue lock apparently), the half court shot by Rin like thats possible against a keeper that isnt distracted (and its a robot, so never distracted). Like if he can score like that why doesnt he shoot every single time and always score? Cant really block that. Also Isagi apparently being invisible and often having seeming super speed during his thinking scenes.

Yeah it’s not like Man City playing a university team. They would be far far worse. Because there’s no education based football programmes or scholarships in the uk like places like Japan or the US. Uni teams in the uk play on public parks to an audience of 2 men, a dog and maybe a players girlfriend. And they only play other uni teams. And local ones at that. Even if the best uni team in the country played even a semi professional side from say the 6th or 7th tier of English football they would still get annihilated.
@@WorldView-ys5bzNo they wouldn't, the top Japanese universities are more akin to a pro team's academy ,whilst British uni teams are essentially Sunday League. Japanese uni students also have far far far more free time than UK universities and they take training very seriously.
14:24 Can someone explain to me how this was offside? The high school team had one of their players on the goal line playing 2nd keeper/sweeper even before the interceptor’s run.
This is an awesome story about an underdog team. But what has this to do with bluelock? Where is the "ego center" of people stealing balls off their teammates? Where are the backflip trap midair goals? The 1 vs 20 dribbles? The goals dead center in the top corner of the goalposts from 25+ metres? Where is the 120% accuracy on goal against a "goalkeeper" that is trained on data of the world's best goalkeepers?
yet isn't it cool how in blue lock they take you along the road of growth that can happen in football. I mean if you want a fancy football play, just UA-cam that stuff. The story is that matters and the storytelling of coming up with a comeback... besides, this anime should inspire you to think different about leveling up and how to play any sport. The fact that all soccer players are actually strikers... Never thought of that... It actually makes sense that the playing of soccer, is the way it is now.
