    This is not a review nor reaction but a video about the World Cup and Final 2022 which played out very much like an anime. It was similar to sports anime such as Blue Lock and Ao Ashi which are football/soccer anime. Some of these were almost recreations of episodes in Blue Lock such as Episode 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24.

    I foolishly forgot to give credits to Argentina's keeper, Emiliano Martinez, and his godlike performance.
    Literally, in the LAST POSSIBLE SECONDS of the game, France got a golden opportunity to score, to make it 4-3 and pretty much win the game. But by sheer determination, athleticism, intelligence, and "luck", Martinez was able to save a POINT-BLANK shot by France's Kolo Muani to force the game into penalties, which saw them triumphantly win and lift the World Cup trophy.

      Martinez basically did the most important save in all of footbal at that moment and imo the best save ever. Career defining stop for 2 players (himselg and more importantly messi) , his team and his whole country. Bro you simply cant make that stuff up

      No doubt, I saw a youtube video between Emi Martinez and Ben Foster, before! the world cup. And Martianez was very adamant about winning a world cup for Messi and to play with him.. Seeing Martinez makimg a huge 1v1 save in the final seconds of the game. Was inspirational.

    Cool fact:
    The argentinian defender that conceded the second penalty, Gonzalo Montiel, was also the last player to kick in the penalty shootout, as if he seeked for redemption. Truly beautiful.

      Might be already too late. But also, there have been a lot of butterfly effects within the ranks of the Argentinian team that made them turn the way they were now.
      I'll start with Montiel's case again. Gonzalo Montiel is a very young player that came from one fo Argentina's biggest clubs. River Plate. Around 2019 River's main Striker called Borré had tainted River's mark missing 5 or 6 penalties in a row in over a couple of months. The Manager of River, Marcelo Gallardo, decided to replace Borré as the penalty kicker with a young Gonzalo Montiel. He has yet to miss a single penalty since then.
      This second case is the wildest in my opinion, revolving around Argentina's now well known Goalkeeper Emi Martinez. But this wasn't always the case. He used to be a benchwarmer in Arsenal, the english team, for almost an entire decade. And it was only after Arsenal's main goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, suffered an injury. And this doesn't even stop here. There used to be a big debate wether Martinez was good enough to be picked as the main goalkeeper. Before him, River Plate's main goalkeeper, Franco Armani, was the one that ALWAYS played as the first goalkeeper. But due to COVID of all things, Armani had to step down from playing for the national team. And guess who answered the call?
      Yeah. This is a fucking anime. Not even gonna mention some other cases like how Messi and Di Maria had previously retired for playing for Argentina's national team, only for Messi to receive a facebook message from a young kid that begged him to keep playing, not to win, but to have fun. That kid was Enzo Fernandez, the midfielder that won the "best youngest player of the tournament" award in this world cup.
      Or an amateur recording of a 12 year old Julian Álvarez after playing a juniors match, confessing that his dream would be to play for Argentina's team alongside Messi.
      Just. Truly emotional.

      ​​@@4Rys454 not only that. Lionel Scaloni, the coach, had a lot of people (including Diego Maradona) against him coaching the national team cause he was inexperienced. For him to be the one that made Argentina win Copa, Finalissima, WC and had an invictus of 36 match. Said invictus was broken by Saudi Arabia, whose coach predicted that Argentina was going to win the WC despite losing their first match.
      Kun Aguero was the old 9 of the national team until he had to retire of futbol due to a heart condition caused by Covid, and guess who is the new 9 of the national team? The boy in the video, Julian Alvarez.
      And also the coincidences between '86s WC and '22s WC were crazy. Like losing the first match. Canada classifying to the WC. Brazil losing by penalties in quarters. Nigeria not classifying for the WC.
      And the fun fact that Ronaldinho, Mbappe and Messi won the WC the next year they started playing for PSG, Ronaldinho started in 2011 and won the 2012 WC, Mbappe started in 2017 and won the 2018 WC and Messi started in 2021 and won the 2022 WC.

    You got to remember how much Messi has suffered in the past decade to understand the weight of this World Cup title. He lost a World Cup Final in 2014 to Germany in extra time, lost two consecutive Copa America Finals to Chile, a 2018 World Cup campaign that ended in the round of 16, Diego Maradona died prematurely and Messi was forced to leave Barcelona due to financial issues. This was a redemption story for a guy who had to play through an 8-2 defeat and blowing a 3-0 lead TWICE in the Champions League.

    4 finals lost, 1 crucial penalty missed, retirement, then coming back to win the Copa America, Finalissima and now WORLD CUP. Perseverance, sweat, blood, tears. Greatest comeback story ever tbh. Messi is like an anime protagonist lol. He was planning to retire after winning it but he changed his mind to continue to play as a champion. He had this incredible pressure every time he ever plays for argentina. Now for the first time he'll be able to enjoy playing for his country without feeling the pressure. Im so happy for him.

    We never forget Japan suddenly turning Anime god mode for half an hour.

    Or when Morocco shocks us all and becomes an anime story of its own.
    Or when the WC final becomes a batte of the M10s.
    My first ever wc experience, and it surely didn't dissapoints.

    I think you forgot to mention what by far was the most anime plot moment that there was:
    In his match against Croatia, Julian Alvarez, playing for the first time in a world cup, scored a fantastic solo goal and a second one masterfully assisted by his childhood idol, Messi. He was 12 when he was playing and said his biggest idol was Messi. Little did he know back then not only that he would be playing alongside his hero, would be assisted by him, celebrate together, and finally, win the world cup with him.
    The story of a kid's wildest childhood dreams come true.

    You forgot to mention how Argentina managed to win the world cup despite losing the first match against Saudi Arabia (after an undeafeted streak of 36 matches btw), something that only Spain could do before. Also, how Messi in his probably 'last dance' had one of the greatest performances in a world cup, winning the only trophy he was missing with the help of his teammates, wich they literally grew up watching him play since they were children. Lastly, how Scaloni, an inexperienced manager, won every international trophy possible in only two years.

    Another for the anime ending, Montiel, the last penalty shooter for Argentina. Montiel was very poor as a kid and used to play penalties for money growing up.
    River fans knew this because he became their main PK shooter after a bad streak all others had in the team, so when they saw him walking to make the last penalty they knew they were Champions, as Montiel has a 100% accuracy record since his debut. It was poetic to see the kid that used to do penalties for money do the final penalty in the World Cup Final.

    Its even more anime like if you see the journey of Argentina and Messi before and during the World Cup. Winning Copa and Finalisima with an almost brand new team and a new coach, winning every match before the world cup only to lose against the worst team in the group because of too many Offside goal cancel and a blatant false call from VAR putting them in a death match type situation where any lose moving forward is elimination. The fight with Netherlands, absolutely demolishing Croatia who beat them with similar score in the last world cup and facing the strongest team who also knocked them out in the previous world cup. This world cup was absolutely phenomenal

    You missed the most important thing in the whole WC.
    Messi, after losing 4 WC, even a WC final in 2014. The player who is for many people around the world, the best player who has ever existed in the history of this sport, was competing in his last chance to win the WC and set the debate once and for all.
    A man who was heavily criticized in his country for never winning a trophy for Argentina. Now is seen as a messiah.
    If you're talking about anime, Messi has the best anime redemption arc in sports history.

    That final was literally a final season of a multi season anime all leading up to Messi winning it had it all the drama the power of friend ship (over just mbappe doing it all) the fact that it was also Argentina’s redemption after losing in 2014 World Cup final made it all the more dramatic and saddening if Messi hadn’t of won

      The best thing about the Argentinian team is that a lot of the players are young talents, most watching Messi play their entire childhood and looking up to him. Imagine you getting to play with your idol, after watching him suffer defeat after defeat (in a not winning any cups with the argentinian team), and being part of the squad that finally won it all. That must be the best feeling ever

    Another thing i want to add is the excellence of the Argentinian team. They truly gave everything for their captain, to see him win and rise with the trophey. The majority of them hadn't played for too long in the Argentina team and, for some others, it was their first World Cup too.

    I wish you would have made this video longer. I thoroughly enjoyed it, providing more insight on Ghana and Suarez’s beef, Messi vs Argentinians and him becoming fierce outside the match for the first time. Also Portugal’s loss and Ronaldo’s performance/reaction, Argentina-Netherland’s beef, Luka Modric’s goodbye and cheers for Messi, Mexico’s disappointment, the heartbreak of Morocco, Japan and Korea apologizing to their fans, etc. This world cup was just amazing, it delivered so good.

    Argentina ark is literally an anime script started many years ago
    argentina had been for more than 30 years without winning any titles, they've lost many finals, in his whole career messi came to so many finals
    2014 was a wc final lost, but 2018 was the lowest point, when an unorganized team got to the wc for argentina, one of the worst
    the massive failure got us into the introduction of one of the key characters: Lionel Scaloni
    Lionel Scaloni was literally criticized by everyone in argentina, saying he wasnt fit to be a DT, but he reorganized the entire team getting new talent and finding players with almost no name at the time like Dibu Martinez
    and it eventually paid off, with the "Scaloneta" (a name given to Scaloni's team) getting finally the first title for argentina in more than 30 years, the Copa America 2021 playing finals against argentina's most fierce rivalry, Brasil in the Maracana.
    that was huge, and Scaloni just started to stomp over everyone, Argentina got into a 36 games streak without losing, and the world cup came, everyone thought it was argentinas turn to win but then...
    argentina lost to the literal worst team in the entire wc, Saudi Arabia, many people lost their hope, but Scaloni took a gamble and it paid off, he changed the team, putting many players from the bench as titular, mostly youngsters like Mac Allister and Enzo, that ended up being key players at the wc
    it did seem like argentina was on the brink of losing, the match against mexico was the lowest point, the first half was bad, but in the second we got the win
    Polonia was a breeze of fresh air and Australia too, it almost seemed like argentina was starting to get everything right, and then came Netherlands, a match so intense, with an equalizer literally at the last minute of overtime, that almost had argentina losing...
    but argentina got through with a big its goalkeeper and got to croacia, a match that was won easily
    the final was already talked, but this wc set the stage for a new generation of argentine players, and the end of the career of some legends like Messi and Di Maria

    I remember watching the Portugal vs Korea and Ghana vs Uruguay in airport restaurant seeing Korea’s goal and the game end was immense, but even more so was watching Ghana vs Uruguay which had a slight delay, looking at the other TV and seeing the entire squad on the field together waiting for the G v U game to end as Uruguay piled on more pressure for 15 minutes after the P v K game ended for one more goal, it was incredible the way that matchday ended

      Croatia themselves, (well more like livakovic), went INSANE this world cup. The entire team were mostly new players, as players from the previous world cup retired. But the leadership of Modric, brilliance of Gvardiol, and the insane goalkeeping of Livakovic kept them alive. Everybody counted them out due to the completely new squad, but they prevailed. That is, until messi destroyed their dreams and destroyed MY dreams of seeing modric lift the trophy.

    I am Italian and the day Morocco beat Portugal the streets in my city were filled with people celebrating and the cars couldn’t even pass by. It was such a sweet moment where the various minorities that always get discriminated here got a chance to celebrate and i’m so happy they got that moment

    Argentinian here, I was lucky enough to watch the Japan's 1,8mm kick and I just stood up in disbelief. I also remember watching the last group phase match of Korea while having lunch with my family, it was pure tension and we celebrated Korea getting to the next phase like an Argentinian victory. And finally when Morocco was losing against France they were still fighting like warriors, I remember I was about to go out and a Moroccan player tried a beautiful chilena kick, that day I was talking to everyone about that kick. What a great world cup.

    duude i loved all of the video ! thank you for taking the time to make and recap the WC of last year !
    it's true the whole experience was just waw, i still smile just by remembering it, the whole month everyone was just so happy and would say hi and hug you for the smallest reasons.
    As a Moroccan, the crazy story started even before the WC, some players weren't comfortable with the coach (considering they left their official teams to play with their country and i think most will agree the one who probably suffered the most from this was ziyech who got a lot of backlash and anger ) but just a few months before the WC, the old coach was paid and kicked from the team and "Regragui" or as we call him "ras l'avocat ("avocado head" because of his baldness) came in, he set a better atmosphere, the players preffered him, reguragui brought new values to the sport and brought the team together like a family. The word cup started, at first not all moroccans watched the game (as they say they don't want to get false hope, watch and get mad) but personally with some friends we bought the moroccan team jersey and decided to watch and cheer on the team even it's just the first matches, the match was broadcasted in our university and hey we won, we were so fricking happy, then the wins started to roll and we went crazier by the match every time we celebrated, we run in the streets holding the flag, people go out with their cars with the flags, songs and everything, locals do their folk dances, people use small fireworks, the king went out in his car too !!! and every time there were more watchers, with time as the team progressed, you realize people from Africa and the Arab world is supporting you and celebrating with you. And then there were the players ! ooh they were dedicated to their matches and then from time to time we would get glimpses of their happy moments behind the scenes or during interviews and it was just such feel good moments, all of them were killing it, hakimi, ziyech, aguerd, boufel, nesyri, bono making goalkeeping look easy, amrabt that beast bro left the hospital during treatment to get back to the game and all the other team members did a good job, then came the Morocco Vs France with the two friends playing against one another (Hakimi and Mbappe) and France won, but honestly they were good ! and later on both parties put on a good match during the next game, well ! you already made a great summary of the next match (argentina Vs France).
    I hope we can get better and play again !
    Finally, in the last chapter of this world cup, the players came back and were welcomed like heroes !
    The whole team, coach and staff were fabulous, they made us dream ! and we're thankful !
    And thank you for the video i enjoyed it !

    The messi thing was like an anime, because his dream had always been to win the world cup with his team.
    In the past he was close to getting it but he didn't get it by being very close. At that time, Argentina depended on Messi, on his individual performances and he didn't get it.
    Then in his own country they unfairly criticized him and Di Maria, and that affected his family but they still went ahead and now an Argentina that did not depend on individualities, but on the whole team was the one that triumphed and won the cup of the world, because Argentina worked as a team from the beginning of the new stage

    Great vid... I guess that if you look at the final from argentina's perspective its even more epic and anime like since they had to win 3 times as a team to be world champs.
    Whats more, the whole argentinian run it's an anime if u think about it. Lost the 1st match and all groups games ended up being death matches despite the good results. Then, the australians almost surprised the in the last minute... After that, the thrilling Netherlands stunt them with a 100' minute tactical goal, taking a 2-0 game to ET and PKs (a sign of what would come, great foreshadowing by the author). Finally, revenge against Croatias 3-0 in Russia 2018. And the final game against France, Messi's chance to finally win the WC after Brazils 2014 final against Germany with Diego Maradona watching him from the stars...

    Before the world cup 2022, I and most people didn't aware about Morroco. We thought Morroco was getting grouped. But after I watched their matches, I am truly satisfied by their amazing technique and teamwork. They beat Spain and Portugal to the semi finals and made history. The Morrocans along with their great sportsmanship will truly be in my heart.
