You my friend bring up a very good point. Would definitely be more consistent.I was just doing what I was told but maybe I should have suggested that lol.
This was really useful to watch; but I hate seeing how people who, in specific, tig weld sleeveless get skin cancer after 12-15 years for not welding with sleeves.
Is there any worry about a failure by using a butt joint and grinding the head of the weld off vs using a lap joint and leaving the weld? I have a radiator that I need to do some similar modifications do and I don't want to have 10 different patches visible where I removed all the existing fittings.
On my plug or replacement piece I I beveled the edge and also made it a .065 "" smaller all the way around. That Gap will help Ensure the weld fully penetrates.
@@amcustomfab Thank You, gives me hope..3/32 tungsten? Al I have is the gray it came with. Trying to weld corners on an 18 gauge AL. Fan shroud and it just melts on test piece bent into a corner. That would be a good video, seems like popular task for users. (Thin AL) That radiator looked pretty thin.
I need to send you a mishimoto that I need modified I have let one shop attempt this and the results were less than desirable visually I have brand a new radiator ready to ship to you as well as the mock up example for you to replicate Legit business $ inquiry please let me know if this is something you could help me out with if so I can go into deeper detail
I'm enjoying your videos man. You do a great job at simplifying the process you go through. Good job.
That's a cool setup for your portaband.
Thanks I have been thinking about making a weld together kit to sell.
Good job man. Looks good. And your video editing is even better.
Thanks 👊
Great work as always. Was nice seeing you the other day :)
.
Dialed man, I see your got your lighting setup and your mic! Way to invest in your channel! Stay up!! Quality work!
Wonder why the customer wanted to be able to screw the 90deg fitting rather then just weld on a 90deg bung or something.

Maybe he just wanted the bare minimum to accomplish the goal and the longer fitting doesn’t affect his plans. Love your work.
I have one those radiators and it’s small leak on weld on where corners meet, can I get it re welded ? And it’ll stop the leak?
In theory depending on the location of the crack and the skills of the person you bring it to 😎
@@amcustomfab damn I called couple welders but not into machanics I need one asap

Hi,
Could you recommend a cheap but good tig welder? Thanks for the video
Prime weld TIG 225
Thanks. 😃
Great video! Was just curious what you recommend for settings when welding those fittings?

Was that your 225? I can’t get mine to weld thin, first tig welds so I’m clueless
Yes this was the 225

What grit did you use with the angle grinder when you smoothed out the welds.
40 grit
That’s a beefy looking radiator.
