The models that made OpenAi successful wasn't created by OpenAi, they were created by researchers at GOOGLE, so should OpenAi and sam altman be reduced to "non producers"? Finally a study I would like to be a participant in
UBI would propose a solution to the current welfare systems. For example, NYC spends $140,000 a year for each homeless person, yet the homeless epidemic is only expanding. Instead, it may be better to think of this as a potential solution for the current bureaucratic overspending which certainly hasn't been effective, by giving the money directly to those who need it rather than lining the budgets of inefficient government programs.
I truly do think if the government did in fact give out $1-2k a month to everyone, it would make people less dependent on full time jobs and they'd chose part time jobs they'd fully enjoy instead and that would mean they'd have more time on their hands to be consumers and consumers would actually go and do more things and it would help stimulate the economy quite a bit. The only catch is there needs to be stricter punishment on corporations trying to take advantage of that and make it harder for people to prosper and raise the cost on everything else. Something must be done with that to help out.
Awesome ! Yes, there will be many changes needed together, since there will be many changes caused by just one single move. Also, effects will be different in different places.

This video didn't talk at all about the findings of Altman's study. The results aren't very promising for UBI. Please look for yourselves.
@@kyactive I personally did which is why I am also saying what I'm saying. What specifically do you see on his report that indicates it's not promising when people did what I mentioned about seeking meaningful work since it's not about survival? Basic things were mostly taken care of and most people didn't just quit what jobs they had which I find many people have points of contention on even though that clearly goes against a human beings nature to find meaning in work done. If anything, perhaps they're upset that it's just not the kind of work they are thinking of in their mind but this is neither here nor there...

it can alleviate suffering during a transitional period, but it'll also delay the full transition at the same time.
at a time where environmental destruction takes place at a rapid rate, it's really questionable if it's the best course of action.

I don’t think it’s about whether the person is old or young. It’s the mindset. This data he contributed to will help people like Robert Reich, Noam Chomsky, AOC and so many other educators. This is truly a Batman moment, but I want these people to know/remember that not all are financially educated whether (rich or poor). Sometimes, the best way is to teach how to use the tool “properly” or in the best way, because what we have as a society is also the outcome of or an inheritance from. Saw a news about Venezuela and we can learn a lot from it as well. Rich in resources, but… Hope this data grows in the right direction and don’t fall in the hands of ill spirited people because this data itself is like a pure Gold.
This also shows, that even if these Multi-Billionaires were taxed by 1 or 2 percent, it would help people so much and give us the economic jolt we need to keep this country going and keep us competitive and innovative

Dense cities will be the most to gain from this as it puts more revenue into local services as people spend their universal basic income dollars. This is basically like a tax rebate every month paid for by the wealthy.
We all live in abundance. Just that many belief in abundance of lack rather abundance of joy. Once we able to see this point, we will realize there is only so much food one can eat, so much water one can drink and there is more than enough for everyone to enjoy the resource on earth. There is simply no more need to hoard/saving resource for future or your kid.

A lot of middle aged and old people here don’t realize just how fast technology is moving and also think their job is too complex. Literally, the only thing preventing you from automation for 75% of white collar work is human resistance to change. Thats it, that is the only barrier

Imagine you’re the owner of an apartment complex. Then you find out all your tenants will be receiving $1000.00 extra dollars a month. You would immediately raise rent by minimum $200.00. Every sector of business will do this. A thousand bucks will be equivalent to 100.00 in no time. It’s works in a small study because it’s small at full capacity this won’t work.
Since you are getting 1000$/month you dont need to live in apartments anymore. You can find a secluded place in the countryside and pay the 1000$ mortgage. Even if everyone does this, this spreads the population out and reduces land pressure.

The reason this happens is because artificially adding billions of dollars to any system throws off the balance of any economy. Those with power wont just let that extra money pile up in everyone’s bank accounts. They will make sure they get more than their fair share of it. Just like they did 3 years ago. We are heading back to the have and have not style of socioeconomic conditions. Do everything you can to make sure you’re on the Have side because there will be no escaping the have not side. Just like it was for thousands of years. The last 100 years of equanimity will appear as a bright blip in the memories of our decedents.

Did we learn nothing from the stimulus checks? UBI sounds great just like a free $1200 for COVID sounds great, but the effects on inflation and national debt will be unbelievable unless the money can come out of the existing budgets (like defense)…

this BS is not anything close to UBI. Basic Income has to cover substinence level expenses - so cost of living = rent + food at the very least. Consecutively, several months in a row. what can a person in Texas or Illinois afford on $50 a month?? Plus, it makes no sense to give out money to random people. This is a dangerous conflation of ideas. If people willingly give away their own money, that is one thing. If it comes from tax payer funded sources it is another. The billionaire putting money back in versus the government having to take money from people to redistribute it. Don’t fall for this attempt to push us into communism. Alaska giving its residents money from revenue generated by a good is different than taxing people to redistribute. There are other ways to level income without turning towards communism
