Hello Merlin.. greetings From the UK 😃.
How fantastic to still have her after 43 years.
Does she still perform well and how is the engine compression ?
      Kind regards Rob 😃

@@stridebaad1219 I've been cutting up a 150 y/o oak tree that fell on my property for the last couple of months. She has been running great. ( although yesterday she started to miss at top high RPM......carb adjustment ) I recently switched to non-ethonal premix fuel ( ouch $22 gal ) that is 95 octane and noticed a performance improvement that I can now have the entire 28" Bar into the wood, apply decent pressure and no bogging. The compression is still very good, as you can tell on the pull start. Mine does not have the chain brake, as I get older wish she did.
      Best RRmerlin

      Good morning R 😁
A gorgeous engine. Do you know after I sold it, it only lasted 1 day before it stopped working.
Don't you just love vintage chainsaws 🤩 lol
      Regards R

I can't understand why you have to rev it cold. You got a unique chainsaw in excellent condition and start to wear it off and degrade instantly.

Hello Gyula.. greetings from the UK.
      Thank you for the observation..
I had started her several minutes earlier which of course you would not have seen and let her idle and it is running on the very best fully synthetic oil. So it was not being revved unnecessarily but of course people need to know how saws are running from cold and that is a true indicator as to the engine condition.
I've had some 380 saws and you are right to be mindful of how you run them when stone cold.
      Kind regards Rob 🙂

Glad you warmed it up first,Rob. I have an 056 av super, always warm it up first. Had it for about 20 yrs. 28" bar. It's nice not to bend over with a 23 lb. saw!
