The fact it can decode all the dts formats as well as dolby is a big selling point most soundbars only do dolby

nice review mate. I just bought that soundbar, first what I did I turn the VOICE ON, dialogs are too quiet for me. Costco is selling those soundbars now for half of the price if anyone wants it.
Change audio from 5.1 to normal while watching dialogue centric movies/series where surround is not required. Works well.

I was feeling some buyer's remorse after seeing someone say pretty negatively how narrow the sound stage was, lackluster the bass from the sub was, and that the processing seemed indecisive and ineffective at even creating passable sound. I have yet to set it up as it's for my parents', who have a Bravia TV. That's another point is that the advisor at Crutchfield said it WILL synchronize with new Bravia TV's screen-driven center channel programming to increase variability of the sound stage. I'll be curious to see how it actually sounds and if it's not great they'll be trying the Sony A3000 or Bose 600.

this soundbar is now very cheap €340 in Europe, at that price nothing beats it but for a bit more the new Sonos Beam now has Atmos.

I'm totally new to sound bars/surround and I've always just used the tv speakers but I'm interested in this. Is there a way to know with this if you're actually getting Dolby atmos? I mean is there like an indicator that tells you if it's regular surround sound or if it's Dolby atmos? Sorry if it's a dumb question but like I said, I'm totally new to this.

Tried it, JBL bass will shake your windows lol, thought the bass was too powerful even when set to the lowest setting, standard sound mode muffled the voice, had to use shortcut on controls to fix but this resets every time you put into standby, returning it to get the Sony instead

For that price it sure lacks features, no wi-fi nor can't you add speakers and the cheap $5 remote. Might as well wait for the Z9F to come down in price or flash sale.
How does it compare to the Samsung hw-q600b or hw-s800b?
mine didn't come with any optical or hdmi cable although it came with 4 power cords UK and Europe plug.
Anyway I didn't care I hooked it up with a HDMI 2.1 for eArc with my Sony A80j TV.
The sound is good.

Hi Aaron. I plan to get this sound bar but with one concern. Can the subwoofer put on it's side instead (lying down sideways)? This is due to my space constraint in my TV cabinet. Not sure if this side placement will affect the sound performance.
Great question. Do you know if you are able to or not?
Yes you can. Also its wireless, so place it anywhere in the room where you have a power connection and find the best bass performance.

@@vetonismajili9324 there are no exposed parts on the sides so I don’t think that’s the issue. My s/w is literally sleeping sideways on the floor in the corner of the room, below the sofa. Just ensure if you are placing it underneath your couch, there is some breathing space to avoid bloated boomy bass.

Hi, my soundba has random sound loss when watching netflix, the display on the soundbar will randomly show pcm-mc or dolby atmos when the sound is gone. Does anyone face the same problem? Need some answers here,kinda frustrated with the issue and

Hi is it worth taking sound bar.
Disable 5.1 and set it to normal audio in the app setting through which you are watching the content eg. change from English 5.1 to English. The auto detection will end and normal audio should play. Now go in settings and enable Dolby or DTSx or Immersive AE whatever sound mode suits you.
I just got my new TV from SONY however it only has HDMI ARC. But it dolby atmos capable if i play dolby atmos content.. Will this be compatible if I connect this to my TV and still get the dolby atmos feel? thanks in advance
Te respondo yo,...no, you don't have it. But you can buy a Chromecast 4 and enter it through the bar and from the earc of the bar you take it to any hdmi on the TV and that way you will have dolby atmos from the applications in the chromecast.

This sound bar so far as a joke I got it today the subwoofer will not connect or pair with the sound bar so I can’t use that. Sony tech-support you can’t reach anyone for help

Be warned, this soundbar lacks heavily on bass. And the atmos is just a marketing gimmick
Bass is precise and does deliver. It would depend on the source, s/w placement and do remember, some s/w offer bloated bass which is not ideal.

On the remote, there's the "SW" button, which stands for subwoofer. You can increase the bass from that button

G700 is 400 watts vs 209 is 200 watts. That's a huge difference. So it would depend on your room size more than the sound quality aspect.
I have to disagree with this reviewer. For me the bar is poor quality and poor value for money. The bar itself is harsh sounding, there is hardly any mid range when watching TV/Films - it is all top end and is poor quality. The subwoofer looks and feels even cheaper and the bass is sloppy, unrefined and lacks precision.
The "atmos" feature is a con - the processing does very little and the Immersive Mode is about as immersive as a 2cm deep cold bath.
I wish I had spent more money and opted for a real Dolby Atmos bar. My TV is Sony and I am happy with it, my previous 5.1 surround sound system is Sony and I was very happy with it and I wish I had kept it. It was 11 years old but far better sound quality than this.
It sounds and feels like a £150 set up, rather than a £400 set up. Very disappointed.
I will have to agree with you as I'm not very satisfied with it either, music just doesn't sound as good as it should on these.
@@kaynial 2 years on and my opinion has not changed, it is rubbish. It's not just music that sounds poor, it is everything - especially the voice, which is very difficult to decipher - I have to turn the volume right up for it to not sound muffled. I haven't changed it because I have learned to live with it, plus I have to somehow justify spending so much on it in the first place. As for the "atmos" feature - maybe 5 times I have noticed the "atmos effect" in 2 years of daily use, other than that it sounds one dimensional, rather having any form of surround or 3 dimensional impact. A complete waste of money
