- Thank you for watching.
This video is a review that specifically looks at the utility side of the 2022 Yamaha Grizzly 700. I talk about the features that make it a good work four wheeler, do some winching, pull some logs, and hill climb with an ATV cart full of wood. I got the cart at tractor supply and it's made by a company called "Ohio Steel industries".
Let me know if you have any questions I can try and answer.
I have a 1999 Grizzly 600. She is still running strong in 2022.
great video! my husband just ordered us 2 yesterday, looking forward to having this around to help me around the barn and property, as well as having fun on the mountain trails!
Just updating, we went for our first real ride last weekend since we finally have both and this machine is AMAZING. I'm a total novice and this thing was so easy to maneuver, rocks, logs, water, straddling a pretty deep washout on a good incline/decline... it really took care of me the whole time. Super fun!
Nice vid.... I have a polaris 500 ho that's a towing, log dragging dozer!
I built a trailer specifically to pull behind it through woods, etc. It's twice the size as the one in the video and I fill it with firewood and tow it with no problem. Hills greatly effect ANY machine towing ANY trailer off road. The polaris is more a "utility " vehicle but does well on trails, although not as nimble as other makes.
i have a 22 SE it felt really stiff when new, now i got some miles on it, its getting really fast and really smooth, great machines
I just bought the same machine you did 1 week ago today. It's got 6 hrs and 100 miles on it so far. Still breaking it in so I'm only doing 50% throttle for the most part. Can't wait till she's broke in. I definitely wanna get on it when I'm on the trails.
Really enjoy your videos. Editing skills are great as well. Been following you since the kodiak 450 days.
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
Thanks this was helpful
Great job on the video thank you 😊
great review this is the bike to buy in my opinion it does pretty much everything, I had the old 600 it was a beast in its own class until the bigger engines and bikes came out, great job again yamaha
I agree, this is a great all-around ATV
we have a 2016 grizz se we totally luv it use for hunting work and play does it all bought it brand new an is pampered
Great info 👍
Haha loved the 12 point simulation.
Great review! If I can convince my wife, I will be getting one of these soon.
este tipo de video es unico , felicitaciones . le das el uso para lo que hacen estas maquinas
gracias amigo, agradezco el comentario.
Nice. Im bush hogging 27acres with a offset flail mower behind a 850 4x4 atv
Color scheme is badass
I agree! Definitely a love it or hate it color.
Wheel base looks nice and short for quick maneuvering. Suzuki's is 1.5 inch longer but that only 1%
When they come out with a PTO, then I'll be buying!
I owned one one time with a pto I had a brush hog and everything I wish I still had it
They had one years ago…it didn’t last very long.
i have owned 2 grizzly s since 2002. they are all around quads imo.
The we have had a kodiak 700 on demo and in every way it is superior to our 570 outlander.
Steers better, far more manoeuvrable in tight spaces and easier to back a trailer.
Just as comfortable as the canam. More stable and certainly more engaging. Quieter and Considerably better on fuel.
Awesome! Those Kodiak are great machines too.
Thanks for the video! There aren't too many videos actually showing the Grizzly towing or pulling something. The Ultramatic CVT transmission with it's engine braking must be so nice going down steep hills with a heavy load. That trailer looks to be well designed for rough terrain and the dump feature must be handy. Do you ever carry a chain saw, and if so how are you carrying it?
Thank you for the kind comment! Yeah the ultramatic CVT really is something else, I love it. I do in fact carry a couple saws and already have a video planned out, spoiler alert. I hope to get that video done in the next month or so.
Gotta love that 686 too!
@@447Film got the saw video recorded, just have to edit it
@@ThomperBeThompin right on!
Did they fix the air box issue letting dirt by the filter any input would be greatly appreciated and have you noticed it running hot thanks
I cannot confirm concretely whether they fixed it entirely, but I've heard there are improvements. If I'm not mistaken my air filter came with some rim Grease to help make a better seal. It still has the AIS issue though and mine backfires if I chop the throttle and don't roll off.
Great video. Where did u get ur skid plates color Match?
Just some simple spray paint!
Okay great set up and video! I
I’ve been watching some Yamaha vids and a few folks advised that the Kodak has more low end torque for work/utility and that it’s tuned to low MPH use. Overall, I think they are advising it’s a better work rig than the Grizzly especially when it comes to long term maintenance. I know nothing about quads but I recently purchased 5 acres with lots of slope and I want to buy a tow behind brush cutter for blackberry mowing. Any advice? Thx for the great vid!
Kodiak will be all you need a very capable machine.
Sorry for the late reply, I agree with @jameshogg601, the Kodiak is more than enough! The clutching on the Kodiaks is tuned for better utility work. Meaning, it has lighter weights so it will take off at a lower RPM and be smoother for hauling and towing. Same engine too. I would only consider the grizzly if you intend on also doing some spirited trail riding, but then, the Kodiak will still do well at that too.
Try three and a half PSI. You'll have less bouncing on the machine when going over hard ground
Where is the skid plates from
These are from Ricochet Off Road. Good stuff, but expensive.
What is better at utility and trail riding the grizzly 700 or the grizzly eps xt-r
Depends on the trail. I vote regular grizzly
If those tires are 6 ply radials, wouldn’t they get better traction at about 2 psi or less?
For sure
You're risking popping a bead that low.
I have a 700 and I really like the machine but towing and dragging if you have any type of hills does not work so well.
I was thinking about buying a Kodiak 700 for doing chores on my sloped property…you don’t think these similar quads are the right machine for slope? Any other suggestions? I know nothing about quads.
@@stoweman34 not if you need to pull much weight I had a 5x8 utility trailer and with a1/3 of a cord of wood I couldn’t make small hills but that weight is 3 times more than my atv without weight they will climb steep hills easily and maybe with a smaller trailer they would pull 1/3 of what I was. No atv of any brand would be good for what I tried.
@@waynejohnson9855 thanks for the info. I want to pull a brush mower on some steep terrain.
What is the max it can tow?
It's 600kg or a little over 1,300 lbs. Pretty decent for an ATV.
@@ThomperBeThompindecent
Wow. I have the same trailer that I tow behind a 2019 Kodiak 700
It's a pretty good little trailer!
What's your take a year later.
Still perfect with basic maintenance. I'm really happy with this quad, especially for the dense east coast forests.
@@ThomperBeThompin Cool
Change that halogen for anither led headlight an youll be happier!
I like the yellow light from the halogen bulb. It cuts through dust much better. Plus, I put on a small light bar that lights everything up! Best of both worlds!
Believe it or not you’d do better climbing in High. Low makes them spin the tires way easier
You should review a Polaris sportsman wv850
I would love too! Problem is getting my hands on one. I wonder if I could find a place to rent some newer ATVs.
If you live in Pennsylvania I'd let you try mine
The front end is way way to light its the only thing i dont like other then that great quad
Lmao - we have the same cart too - so funny how men who know good tools have the same machines and trailers 😂
Get a 350 honda
Those 350 Hondas are tanks, for sure
Who the hell buys these instead of utv's these days? What a waste of money
Some of us have more use from a atv. A sxs wouldn't work as good as my grizzly in most places I go.
Who the hell wants to spend 20+grand for a glorified golf cart?
UTVs are boring, you just sit down and press the gas. I do that in my daily driver every day. ATVs require so much more, but if you're fat and lazy I can see why you would want a UTV.
Idk. Working around my property, utv is the best. In the woods I'm on my dirt bikes. Quads are for fat uncoordinated people
@@justindwyer3832 When it comes to utility on my property, I'll take my ATV+trailer all day - so we can agree to disagree there. I do agree with your DB comment, I'll rip my YZ250 all day through the woods. I guess you're not a complete troll lol
I have the 2018 Grizzly, the one that came with a Suzuki engine and that used oil from the very beginning when it was new. Why the hell Yamaha put a Suzuki engine in the 700 Grizzly for a couple of years is beyond me. Anyway I had the warranty work done on the engine and all is well ??!? At any rate I am very satisfied with my machine. Runs and performs very well. I have 2500 miles on mine and she keeps on purring.
I'm glad to hear you're getting reliable usage out of your 2018! I've never driven one with the 708cc engine, but I hear they were pretty powerful. I think it was actually made by Subaru, not Suzuki. Have you driven the 686 cc grizzly? Curious to hear how you would compare the engine performance.

You can't go wrong with a Kodiak 700. It doesn't have more torque but its clutch system is set up to engage at a lower RPM which is better for towing around trailers and stuff. The Kodiak 700 will be low maintenance and should be an outstanding machine for you out there. If you're going to be in a lot of brush and off trail situations, then consider upgrading to some heavier duty tires. You'll have a higher risk of puncture with the stock ones, otherwise the quad is great right out of the box
@@ThomperBeThompin Awesome! Thanks for the advice!
