the fact that she said “i was paid $32,000 a year at my first job which was basically nothing” in 2009… when that’s my starting pay rn as a college graduate in 2024??? kinda irritating if im honest

I've always felt like I don't fit in here. I'm not aggressive and individualist enough to succeed here. Maybe I should look into moving also.

The fact that you posted this today is honestly a sign. I've just this week been more seriously contemplating planning on moving back to eastern Europe, where I lived as a teen, as soon as possible.

Sameee this year for me has been about making small changes and prioritizing myself and my happiness for a change 😅 so this year I’m definitely hoping I can switch to doing something that I’m not only passionate about but that will pave the way to build a financially stable future for myself and family🥰🙏🏼💕✨

You realize that Estern Europe is now under the direct threat from the always peace loving Russians? Did you not hear what Steven Seagal read out loud yesterday about how good Russians are helping the bad and deeply immoral Ukrainians achieve peace nad brotherhood again 😂? Did you not hear that the West 'wants war'? They try to help by agressively attacking the free country, killing civilians and spreading lies all around the world but most important - lying all the time in media in their own country, manipulating ppl into thinking that the West is a threat. Their second name has always been a Lie. Having Russians in the East of Europe is a misfortune and making living there uneasy, I mean there is a fear of them spreading the existing war to Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Chech Republic, Slovakia, Moldowa, Romania, Hungary etc. If you think about moving, wait for the Russians to get busy with other stuff than thinking about fughting other countries. Maybe when putin dies or the economy collapses this will happen. Apart from this burning issue with Russia living in Eastern Europe is very good 😊

Wishing you the best of luck and smoothest move back to Europe. I was American born and raised so it's hard to make that decision because it's expensive and away from family.

Hi Erin, love your content I’m listening to your podcast as I work!🥰
I actually lived in Japan for 4.5 years in school/working (got my BA and work at a Japanese company in the US now) but I definitely miss Japan and there’s so many pros (and cons ofc) compared to living in the US (I live in LA) so let me know if you’d like a perspective on someone who’s lived extensively in both the US and Asia!❤

Writing this before watching - I live in Denmark snd to me instantly I can name so many reasons why Europe is muuuuuuuuch better than America, despite the issues we have.
    1. Free healthcare in europe (well not free but definitely more accessible)
    2. No guns unless it’s a police officer or the military
    3. Free school, both like primary schools and colleges
    4. Better education
    5. I just feel like americans are way to proud considering they stole an entire continent away from indigenous people and slaughtered them by the thousands…..

    • @notnat4435

and well I know that technically americans are europeans but at least the lot of us know the actual history and not the rose colored version america tries to portray

You're so right, but please don't think we're all fooled by the myth of American exceptionalism.
I'm Black, with no immediate European descent but my husband is European and dating him in Europe opened my eyes to how shitty (besides the obvious discrimination aspect) so many U.S. systems are. We are moving to his country after we work here for awhile to make more money. Even walking down the streets in lower class neighborhoods in Europe alone I feel a thousand times safer than driving or walking in my own suburban neighborhood. Don't even get me started on the medical care😂

      @notnat4435 3 місяці тому +1

@@theblaqkhaleesi9559 Oh I knowwww a lot of Americans know how bad your circumstances are, and I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like to be black in that country or in general you know in the world. We definitely have huge problems with racism and discrimination within the systems, but definitely not to the degree you probably experience in the states. I just wish people cared more about other people than money and power yk:/ and a lot of the americans I see online seem rather oblivious to the fundamental issues within your government and systems… I hope you and your partner have a great life in Europe or wherever you end up!🫶🏼🌸

    I love this podcast!
just something that's making it hard to listen to: it sounds like the person in the background is reacting and talking/ 3rd wheeling it. Idk if it's just the audio quality and it's Erin? Idk but for some reason it irks me to no end. It just kind of takes away from the experience.

The idea of gap year is extremly dangerous because you just dont want to go back into education system and you end up uneducated while it is imortant to have a degree. Ppl who say it is not important are the ones who already have degree...

My gap year was extremely valuable to me. I needed that year to figure out what I wanted to study, so I did the German federal social service in an elementary school. After that year I was clear about what I wanted and had improved my social skills a lot. In Germany where I live, many people do gap years and still get their degrees, just one year later.

I went straight to college after high school and my mental health was so bad I ended up in a psych ward & had to drop out.
I needed those few years away from school to heal from the constrictive and judgy environment that is HS.
Then I went back to school at 24! And I’m successfully getting thru college I’m in my second year and it’s going well :)
Gap years can be useful for so many people and can even be very necessary for some.

Most people could live off minimum wage and 30-40 hours a month if they just budgeted correctly. Whoever's working 40-50+ hours a week is probably not taking care of their finances very well. Minimalism. That's all it takes. Sounds like this girl has financial responsibility if she and her husband can save 45k in 3 years, however, to know for certain, I'd have to know how much they're both working, making, and spending. Because if you're making 100k per year, you can have 45k saved up in less than 2 years. Making 50k you'd be more along the lines of the 3 years, which means this girl and her husband were making 25k each, each year. But from the sounds of the video, she was making a lot more. And I doubt a Personal Trainer makes 25k per year. Sooo they probably weren't very smart with their money.
I'm also recognizing that this channel is for people who work corporate office jobs, so like HR. Majority of jobs do not offer PTO and vacation time and all that without having schooling or being labor intensive. So I'd be careful how you give advice. That's kinda my issue with these "coaching" channels because they always tend to try and sell you stuff rather than looking out for your best interest. Why should I buy your course when you can just make youtube videos and teach everyone? Your channel isn't denomentized because the type of content you make is FAR from controversial or dangerous (Besides some financial and job advice). It just seems quite scummy to start selling courses when you have a youtube you can use. It's like if Mr. Beast made a course on how to become a million subscriber youtuber in 100 days. That would be a scam.
I don't trust influencers and youtubers as it is. That's why I have the Blocker installed so I don't gotta watch time wasting ads on a free platform.
I also think that if we HAVE TO work and keep society going with money, then we should all be paid to take courses and go to school. College is a scam for young, naïve 18 year olds to wrack up a bunch of debt for companies and the government to make more money off not only interest, but selling your debt too and what not. We have to work to survive. ALL of our necessities cost money. Yet school isn't paid for? But society needs workers and doctors and plumbers and electricians and IT people, sooo why aren't they being paid to take school instead of going into debt for school? It's completely backwards. The Entire US has enough money to spend on students for their tuition. Or else why would they let us borrow money? They lend us money so they can get more money in-return. It's a scam.
Schools are brainwashing, indoctrination centers. Spending money on things that we need in society is a scam.
