Good review and good to see the pup out 👍👍
Thank you so much! 🐶😊 I appreciate the support, and yes, Freya loves joining in on the adventures too! 👍🏕️🐾
Hi, Alan Robertson here, got out for the today in derrybawn Co Wicklow for the first time in about 30 years. Had the mountain to myself. Couldn't find a place to camp, all bog
Amazing feeling achieving my goal. Monday was a brilliant day, buzzing.
Hi Alan, it's great to hear about your adventure in Derrybawn, Co Wicklow. Having the mountain to yourself must have been a peaceful experience. Sometimes, finding a camping spot can be a bit tricky, especially in boggy areas, but it's all part of the adventure. Achieving your goal on that brilliant Monday must have left you buzzing. Keep enjoying those outdoor moments!
@@soletrail thank you.🙏❤️😍
Nicely done Martin. The space in there for the weight is really impressive. I look forward to having a look around it sometime.
Thanks 👍and yes. Welcome to check it out pal.
Top class review.
Much appreciated! Cheers Alan
I have this tent and it's super easy to pitch with loads of space. I do really like it. I have had a guyline loop sawn in either side and also on the front vent. I used a bit of the strap from the bag and it cost me 8 quid from a local sawing shop. But I wish it would have come from vango already done.
That's a clever modification! Sometimes those little tweaks can make a big difference in functionality. Happy camping! 😄🏕️🌟
The trouble is with the Xenon is there once was a better, lighter version it was the F10 Nitro Lite 200 which I have weighing just 1.48kg! It has a better orange inner which I much prefer. I also have the 200+ which weighs 1.76kg - Once upon a time Vango made amazing tents.
Great review, cheers. Looking for a 4th season 2 man tent but not sure this is the one for me. Got the mongar 2, and love it. But its mesh inner, and cold. Leaning towards the lanshan 2.
Thanks for the feedback! It's great that you're considering a 4th season 2-man tent. The Mongar 2 is a solid choice, but I understand your concern about the mesh inner being cold. The Lanshan 2 could be a good option with its design. Ultimately, the right choice depends on your specific needs and camping conditions. Happy camping
Brilliant Martin, love your videos, great to see your love for the outdoors 🤘. Im new enough to the hiking and loving it, my next step is to get a stove and have been looking at the PocketRocket stove.. would you recommend? Staying in a tent will come eventually haha 😅 keep up the vids 🤘😎
Thanks so much! 😄👍 The PocketRocket stove is a solid choice for hiking, compact and efficient. Good price as well. Happy hiking, and the tent adventures will be worth the wait! 🏕️😎
I am thinking of getting a tent but there are so many I keep putting it off . What is a good tent for three seasons .A great review as always Martin .Thank you .Stay safe.
Hey Ger. I totally understand the tent-shopping dilemma! 😅 For three-season camping, consider the REI Half Dome 2 Plus or the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2. They offer a good balance of durability, weather protection, and ease of setup. Its a rabbit hole Ger and happy to help you in any way I can. 🏕️🌞😊
I have the ul krypton , huuuge inside
Great video I dropped you a sub .
Cheers Joe. Subbed you back mate. Will check out your channel. 🎉🎉
Nice video mate! Isn’t there any brass wire across the edge of the vent flaps, so that you can bend those to have bigger opening?
Howdie. Let me check that out. Thanks for the heads up.
@@soletrailJust checkin up on this :D ,did you ever find the brass wire on the front vent flap?
New sub here (after watching Ramblin on's video) looks a decent tent but I little pricey for me but I do rate Vango though. Cheers!
Thanks for the sub! Appreciate it. Yep the tent is costly but keep an eye on sales. They do pop up. Thanks for tuning in. Love Jason's channel. We have lots of camps planned.
By the way. Sub back from me pal. Looking forward to checking out your channel.
@@soletrailthanks man! Really appreciate that. Hoping to be back up to the Pyrenees in the next few days, all being well. Thanks again. Martin.
@@soletrailI recently bought the Forclaz mt900 trekking pole tent bit not put it through its paces yet. Hoping to in the next week or two. I'd actually love the x-mid but just wish there was a European stockist to save on fees. One day, hopefully. 🙂
I have a Vango MTN2 for 1 reason only - it has a 70d floor with 30d fly, and I bought it at half-price (400 EUR)... never pay full price for camping equipment !
Do you think Freya will like it in that vestibule Martin as long as she has something to sit on and a blanket to burrow under? 😀
She will be in with me I think. I actaully bought her a sleeping bag 😂 Im losing it 😂
The Vango 1 person Tent how much Bucks For one of those
Around the €500 mark. But shop around
Christ! Just back from Lake Muskry, ya made it look too easy. I'm bollixed!
🤣🤣 yeah it's tougher than it looks.
I brought the bike, got past the gate, hid it. The surface (I'd like to think) is banjaxed, must have been the lovely rains. But it was all worth it. Some views, watched a band of rain pass me, thankfully. Sheep galore. Thanks for the idea.
It's a good tent, but those vents - the absence of any means of keeping them open - really let it down. There are simple ways to solve this, but Vango don't seem to make ventilation a priority IME.
Not being able to keep the front vent open is annoying. Why don’t they just sew in a plastic prop/arm to keep it open. Otherwise I may be tempted.
I completely understand your frustration with the front vent! It can be a common concern with some tent designs. Manufacturers may avoid sewing in plastic props or arms to keep the vent open to maintain simplicity and durability. However, you can often find aftermarket solutions like tent clips or accessories that can help you keep the vent open when needed. It's worth exploring these options before making a decision. Happy camping, and I hope you find a workaround that suits your needs! 😊🏕️👍
Good review other than the modern fail of calling guylines “guide lines”. Where and when did this modern disease start?! They are guylines. You guy a tent out. Nice tent though, I have the Helium 2 and not enough reviews on these Vango F10 series tents.
Guylines!
Its not Pertex
Any tent that won't accept 2 rectangular pads is a non starter for me, those little mummy pads are a joke.
