I have owned and used an H2 myself for the last two years in the very humid Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, eastern U.S. with elevations up to 6,600 feet. I have worked out upper cross ventilation by using small velcro tipped sticks in the upper sections of the two doors. It is very quick to pitch with inner and outer together, and good room for me plus gear.

I recently purchased same tent, slept three nights cross country Knoydart, fantastic, flysheet did get wet with condensation but soon dried out in the morning. I agree with your comments, needs small vents at the tip somewhere, i had upgraded from a Vango Nevis 200 and it had little top vents to help with the airflow. All in all , a cracking roomy tent for one man and his dog 👍

I bought the UL1 version recently - really like the quality of the tent, the colour, the weight and knowing it has a bit of extra strength via the TBS system if I get caught in a storm. Like your reviews too, have subbed.

The inner lines are the part of Vango's Tension Band system. Initially I was not too impressed with these as they didn't seem to do anything and always came lose. Eventually (after about 5 uses) I realised they were threaded wrongly from new! When I reassembled them correctly so the lines were gripped and didn't slip, it really improved the tent's performance in the wind. Using a footprint helps to reduce condensation, there wasn't a helium one available - but the zenith 200 is the same shape just heavier materials so its footprint fits, or you can cut one from a plastic groundsheet and fix eyelets to it.

Great tent ..thats why the ground unclips ...also iv never used the daft straps on any vango tent , no doubt some one will swear they make an ioter of difference , iv used them up mountains and moors . Pegged down good and flat the straps are a pain and i wouldnt notice if they were never theyre , same with the cairngorm 200 . Just had this tent delivered yesterday and tried it in the garden , love the idea of holding back the inner to increase the porch size . Do you think leaving the fly unzipped from top down slightly on both sides would help avoid the condensation problem you had ?

I need a light weight tent to complete the Cape Wrath Trail in Scotland next May. I’m 6ft 2 abt 15st and will have a 70 lit Osprey sack do you think it’s suitable for me? Look forward to hearing from you

I bought the UL1 version. 1st night out camped on Kinder Scout with 30mph winds gusting to 40mph. Temp overnight was -2C. Held up well. Very pleased with it. I can just get all of my gear inside the UL1 inner tent, rucksack boots and all (to avoid freezing). The only frustration I have is the tieback on the outer door is too high resulting in the lower part still flapping in the wind when I was cooking inside the vestibule. Next time I will carry a peg.
