Not only a review, this was also the best tutorial I found on how to use this tent. Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I bought the tent and appreciate your instructions on setting up and putting it away. Much appreciated
I went and viewed this tent today but was undecided. Having watched your review I’m sold, sounds perfect for my short bikepacking trips. Great video, I’ve subscribed to your channel 👍
Hey Matt, glad it could help. I think it's a cracking tent for the right situations, so hope you get some good rides out of it!
Super, in-depth review with great info.
Just bought this tent on the back of your solid and thorough review. thanks for the detail, really helpful. I've gone for the additional groundsheet to prolong the life of it too.
That’s a great bit of kit mate 👍🏻
Subbed. Thx. Looking firward to your journeys
Great video. Cheers 👍🙏
Nice review 👌
For a failsafe pitch, you might consider running some light line between the two ends of the air beam, set to the right length for an optimal pitch. That makes it trivial to put in the first two pegs the right distance apart.
Helpful video Josh; cleared up a couple of tent internal things that I was finding hard to work out. However, please note that the brief instructions inside the bag say don't blow the arch up with your lungs as the breath moisture will accelerate degradation of the material over time. But it also says the method for using the bag to inflate the arch is to blow into the bag but from a distance - not sure how that will work but a decent mini pump doesn't take long - which is just as well as I haven't managed to work out how to fit the bag adapter to the arch valve 🤷♂️🤔🤣
Ha! I was trying to connect with the reverse side of the bag adapter! 🤦
Hey Richard, cheers for letting me know about the arch. I know its best not to inflate camping items through winter but the first I've heard of the degradation 👍 ha, yes, it's pretty subtle and I didn't actually realise it was a stuff sack for the first few months...
@@joshandsarahride I think Richard (and the instructions) are meaning the high moisture content when we blow directly (winter or summer it's still high moisture content straight from lungs). Moisture sitting in the tube may lead to mould growth and fabric degradation. Useful review, thanks.
@@andhib He's referring to moisture from your breath freezing inside an inflatable sleeping pad in winter, reducing insulation from the ground.
Love your videos, I;m wondering what model Sele SMP saddles you use ?
I was going to get a rab hooped bivy then decided to invest more money to get one of these instead for bike packing and hiking.
Great review. I love my Vango F10 Airbeam.
I was interested to see you're not using the footprint. I got one with my tent as I think it was only £12 more at the time and I've always used it.
How's the bottom of your tent held up without it? Am I bringing something I don't need with me?
Personally I think a footprint is a good way to go. The bottom of my tent is okay but definitely prolongs life and is more sustainable. I have footprints for our other tents but should really pick up for this!
@@joshandsarahride cheers. If it helps it also extends into the porch section of the tent, which is handy in the mornings when wet out.
It is insanely UL, however i feel like it comes with way too many cons. For the price of it now I'd just get a DCF tent.
Why's everything so blurry?
This review was done 1 year ago and the guy states that he paid £500 for the tent. It’s now £680 on the Vango website. That’s an increase of £180 or 36% in 1 year. Come on Vango, that’s just being greedy.
Wow that is a price hike! You used to expect products to decrease a year after their release ⛺️
Not great if you aren't bike-packing, as the weight saved by not having poles, is eaten up by needing a hand pump.
This is very true as the pump is essential and as you say unnecessary weight if your backpacking.
Hey folks - here's my review after a year of testing out the nifty little Vango F10 Project Hydrogen. 700g, twin-walled, no tent poles and surprisingly spacious.
As mentioned, it's super well suited for bikepackers and cyclists but also a nice option for lightweight backpackers or any other muddy pastimes. It's not all perfect though - the review will explain more.
