And to think. Tomita purchased this Moog III and had to learn from scratch how to use it. Bless him ... dear Tomita-san. You were light years ahead of anyone at the time. He trained Hideki Matsutake (who also uses a Moog 3) who would later be a fourth member of Yellow Magic Orchestra. His own music released under the name 'Logic System'. I am sooo glad to of followed these truly wonderful musicians over the years. First Tomita album in the 70s for me was Pictures at an Exhibition... then Firebird suite. I am trying to learn Modular synth, but it certainly has a learning curve.
@zappersding JHad a bit of software for my Amiga back in the '80s that did all a Fairlight could and more.Odd considering the CMI cost £10k and Aegis Sonix was about £40. Still, all those variables, sockets, knobs, pipelines. Like getting all the stuff to work in a trainset. I wish I'd been younger later on!
can somebody add subtitles? Because I don't speak japanese, nor I don't understand it. EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realized that you cannot add subtitles in this video. But at least, can somebody translate what are they saying?

Wow!Here’s Isao Tomita playing the synthesizer! Those were the day’s,when I listened to his music 🎵 in the 1980”s!
Underrated genius
awesome!!
An electronic music master! Also love Kraftwerk, Vangelis, Larry Fast/Synergy, etc. All that older analog stuff is amazing!
.. and YMO and Tangerine Dream..
Now- we can do this, ALL of us, very easily. Thanks to this Master.
he's studio is very small compare to other pro studio, but he's equipment was just awesome ^^ we can call that PRO HOME STUDIO of the 80's.
otro Gigante crecimos con su musica
Bonkers, you got to love him!
Tomita Isao, Wendy Carlos, Jean Michel Jarre, Giorgio Moroder. Masters
Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Gershon Kingsley.
He uses a Fairlight CMI and a NED Synclavier...
with those archaic computers ,how on earth did he create those Masterpieces ?
Imagine what this guy can do now?!
I love it. Although I wish I knew what was being said...
Tomita san
OMG!
He used a DEC VAX for composing! (at least it seems a VT-100 terminal).
Is that a FORTRAN/BASIC alike language (line based), what one?
Amazing!
master!!!!
Being a Fluent Japaneese speaker(NOT) I fully agree with VANGELIS......LOL

@zappersding confirming synclavier spotted
How/where to get the rights to use fragments of this video for a radio podcast?
@Bollo2 Renoise hard? it's just a typical oldskool tracker with vsti/dxi option
can somebody add subtitles? Because I don't speak japanese, nor I don't understand it.
EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realized that you cannot add subtitles in this video. But at least, can somebody translate what are they saying?
Was he using a vocader for the voice?
yes, a vocoder.
400.000 Pounds +
Turn on subtitles lmao
SUBTITULOS POR FAVOR NO ENTIENDO JAPONES PLEASE
wer ist von Herr Drescher auch hier
