God bless Mr Kenzie for the courage to do the right thing. If only the world had more men like him.

Thanks for this! It's great to see the great Robin McKenzie in action and discussing his life's work. Debilitating chronic back pain affected every aspect of my life years ago, and after seeing many doctors, none suggested anything beyond pain meds and surgical options. Fortunately, I discovered RM's book in time and was pain-free in less than a day! I thought it irresponsible that no doc mentioned his methods, but I guess that was before they were as widely accepted. Truly life-changing stuff!

I read the book 15 or so years ago when a friend suggested it. This after bleeding ulcers (too many NSAIDS for migraines since my I was a teen) sent me to the emergency room.
I did the neck exercises faithfully and within a few days I could feel the relief. I still follow the advice - not as much since I've broken the headache cycle for good but whenever I feel the pain & tension coming on. Thanks doc! You probably saved my life.

I am 24 years old. Started having back problems L4/L5 and L5/S1 in 2009 (its 2013 right now). I have had 2 MRI's, 3 different PT's, 2 different Chriopractors, (last week) received epidural steriod injections, bought inversion table, back to life machine, prescription medication and nothing works. I get some relief but i cant fix my back. My injection doctor suggested Robin McKenzie and i will be starting this Vitamin C diet. I will also be doing his excercises religiously. Updates to come.

I'm also 24 and suffering from a crooked back. I have sciatica due to a previous disc herniation and fear I may have herniated another disc.

Yes - it can be that simple. Many of my clients can't believe how easy it can be.

McKenzies work is great. I have his '7 steps to a pain free life' book which is really informative. I used to have a bad L5/S1 disc bulge back in 2006 and McKenzies method helped tremendously. Further, I also have 3mm of anterolisthesis on the vertebra but that doesn't stop me from doing daily activities or maximal deadlifts/squats. The extension work plays a big part in my training and in general rehab/prehab.

Quite true, the outcome focus is different. Robins contribution to fine tuning back extension exercises is indisputable. However I couldn't help notice the absence of any reference to an exercise posture that is remarkably similar to and predates his discovery. But those were the pre-internet days and the two land masses probably had a very limited exchange of information.

I agree. The more people who talk about the McKenzie Method.... the better for all who suffer.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, it is a similar move, although it is important to sag the lower back when you get to the top. One of the most important discoveries that Robin made was the benefits of repetition of movements in relation to pain. Quite a different philosophy to yoga. There are variations to this movement depending on how the pain reacts and that is key, working out how the pain is reacting.

Yoga isn't always static. Thinking people use it like tai chi and qi gong. Gently and steadily moving from asana, to asana. So that blunt remark doesn't hold water.

That is great news Angelo - yes Please spread the news. 70% of people can benefit from self-treatment, so the more that know, the better.

The chiropractor your camera man went to didn’t know what he was doing. Chiropractic usually works quicker and longer lasting than the McKenzie method, which I know how to do both.
