- Another Retro Game Hunting SPECIAL episode! This time it's all about the PlayStation, specifically PS1 & PS2, with many FIGHTING GAMES, apparently! Lots of NEO GEO fighters like King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Real Bout, etc.
But as well as classics for the system like Metal Gear Solid, Metal Slug, and many more awesome video games!
Which cheaper Play Station games are worth collecting and playing today?
I am visiting 2 different Book OFFs that are close to me here in Nagoya City. No Hard OFF this time. The first one is placed in Chiyodabashi, Chikusa Ward. The second one is a bit closer to the city at Showa Ward, Kawaharatori, Showa Ward.

@@RetroMoments Definitely does. I have a huge JP collection and like you said, in the case ifcps1 there are 8000 somecodd iltitles so the cover isn't enough. For example I am going to pick up Angel Eyes now. That game looked pretty rad. But if you would have only showed the cover it looked like some kind of visual novel game.

when the PS1 launched, it gained my attention to the F1 and WRC titles.. Check out Formula 1 1996 from Bizarre Creations/Psygnosis and Colin Mcrae Rally 2.0 which is an award winning title and highly rated rally game. Thanks again for this upload mate. Stay safe there! TACK!

Dude! I used to play both of them after PS1 launched as well. All of sudden I got really into racing games. And I agree that Colin Mcrae Rally 2.0 was fantastic. Loved the controls, the esthetics and gameplay!

@@RetroMoments It's a very unique game. It's probably the 1st fighting game with true full 3d movement and it even has a quest mode where you can unlock tons of extra characters.

Oh the quest mode sounds interesting. Is it in the vein of Soul Calibur 2?
@@RetroMoments Maybe Namco took inspiration from them. The game is made by the same developer behind Ergheiz, which also has a quest mode.
Back in the day I had to guess what the hell was going on hahaha, nowadays there's a fan translation so it's easy to tell what the crystals and potions do to get better stats.

There's too many good fighting games I enjoy but I was so happy to play Street Fighter III in a arcade in Shinjuku and be in that environment. Plus I found a Persona 4 Arena cabinet and beat it on one credit 😂
For you next video can I request you to try and find the most expensive game you can find? Would be interesting to see if it's a popular well known game or something that's rare.

@@RetroMoments I forgot both R-type Final on PS2 and R-type Delta on PS1. There is also many shmups on PS1 like Harmful Park, G Darius, Einhander, Geppy-X, Sexy Parodius, Donpachi, Dodonpachi.
Awesome, man! I've played Harmful Park, DonDonPachi and G-Darius. All amazing games for sure. I will save the others to my list. Heard good things about Einhander. I hope the R-Type games are a little faster than the Super R-Type to SNES. Never got into that one.

@@RetroMoments yep! It's an rpg by Atlus. The Persona series is a spinoff of the Shin Megami Tensei series. I have the western release of this game but I collect everything from it. And The collector's edition with artbook and soundtrack is Japan exclusive. I'm also studying japanese indeed!

Street Fighter 2 number one fighting game. KOF, Fatal Fury, and Dark Stalkers.
Oh yes! Its just too classic! I play Fatal Fury mostly today and I just started getting into KOF, its really good too. Never played Dark Stalkers so I will add it to my play list of games!
Smart phone book off hunting soon? Totally kidding 😁 The Klanoa series is pretty pricey here in the US as well. I guess it'll be better importing it from Japan 😳 never would have thought it would be priced so low. Awesome video!

@@RetroMoments Most of the stores that I have been to are the ones near Nagoya Station and the Sakae area. Haven't spent much time in the outer areas of the city. I end up getting most of my gaming stuff through online Japanese sites and auctions, but I'm going to try to hit up a few more physical stores to compare prices. Plus it's always a bit better to see things in person.

Yes I definitely agree with you there about going to the stores. Did you watch the video before this one? The Treasure Soko? If you havent been to that one yet you definitely need to go there. Its not far and one of the best Nagoya has to offer imo!

Ah great! Yea I'm also into Japanese exclusives for certain systems. My main target is Super Famicom and Neo Geo AES actually. Would love to know if you see any AES games somewhere since theres not that much of it in the recycle shops. What are you looking for mostly? However, I am currently in Europe and not sure whenever I can come back to Nagoya as of now.

I bought all 3 PS1 ganbara goemon games wells in japan. Love that series. I wanna get to them buts its hard. Been playing through the Yakuza Series got up to 2 now i am on ghost of tsushima.
Oh nice Nick! I really love the Goemon series as well. So are the other ones on PS1 just as good) I havent tried them yet. Japanese themed games always have an awesome atmosphere. I was just looking at gameplay for Ghost of Tsushima, it looked awesome.
There is one Nintendo 64 game that got got me hooked into fighting games but can't remember.
Oh! Maybe Killer Instinct? There are not that many fighting games on the N64 so we should be able to figure it out :D

Awesome! 😃 Its one of my favorite N64 games! A lot of fun in multiplayer. 12 CAD sounds like a really good price. I dont know if you care for complete games with box and manual but found it in another video for 27 CAD! Good price too.

Yes, a similar camera called DJI Osmo Action. Very neat camera with 4K recording. Its perfect!

@@RetroMoments if i recall Some console ones have enhanced 3d backgrounds And sound tracks along with Training like modes. I always loved 96 and 99 has grown on me over the years. but all are good fun.

3 year old video but my recommendation would be 戦国ＢＡＳＡＲＡ２英雄外伝 (Aka Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes or Sengoku Basara 2 Eiyuu Gaiden), you'd only really want to bother with 1 or 2 (without the sub-title) only if you want more story, but it's like the definitive edition of the game for the ps2
There's Basara on ps3 and ps4 (3 and 3宴, 4 and 4皇, also 真田幸村伝 which is a hard pass... 3 and utage are basically the same game but Utage being sort of the same thing Xtreme Legends is to Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors or 真三國無双だ and 新戦国無双, 4 is totally skippable, only Sumeragi being any worth it)
Think Samurai Warriors and Devil May Cry had a baby, that's Basara, game's from Capcom
戦国ＢＡＳＡＲＡ３ and 宴 are on the Wii as well, forgot to mention it, though the graphics are a bit worse and it suffers a few framerate drops at few instances

Dude! I can promise you that it didnt get damaged. There was enough room to put it back in there and heavy enough to do so. I've seen the staff put in games in the exact same way, just saying!
