Im no gamer so it was interesting hearing about the run down of this company and how its changed so much. That opening scene reminded me so much of that Who Framed Roger Rabbit scene with Eddie driving into toontown now i wanna see some character like Nathan Drake go thru Poinhell
Poinie's Poin is truly an adorable but weird masterpiece from the PS2 era; there are companies to create experimental games that become beloved, and the PS2 is no stranger to having the most bizarre games avaliable to the point where I had to list them down next to some other strange projects made for the PS1 and Nintendo consoles.
Regarding the Eric Cartman voice in Japan, I don't think that guy had anything to do with it. Cartman is actually played by Lilico, a Swedish-Japanese TV personality. In the movie Cartman is played by some guy called Tetsuya Yanagihara (he's from Osaka. They made the bizarre choice of dubbing the movie in Kansai dialect)
It's crazy how many references this game tried to fit in (especially to popular songs), that it is reaaally surprising to think it was never released officially in English.
Found you through that Chris Pratt video, but gotta say, I love your energy, presentation and the topics you talk about, keep going, man!
The "How bad do I smell?" part made me legitimately laugh out loud. Bless you, MagicMush.
Looks like an awesome game, such an atrocity it never left Japan. It begs a remaster and a rerelease.
Parappa: Hold my noodles
That “Did you know” with Vaporeon on screen was out of pocket 😐
Seems like the character designer from Dotto Koni-chan worked on this.
Thank you Vinny for making me aware of this insane game
How do I always find you lol
I played through this to completion recently; I can't believe how absolutely fucking bizarre this game is, but man, does this game have some banger songs. Also the difference in voice acting is staggering, which is made weirder by this being an 'in house' translation. Like, Lolo is so much less annoying in japanese, I'm curious about the choices... But oh well. Yippie yo.
Fascinating find, great jokes (and in-jokes), comfy vibe, you're rapidly becoming one of my favourite youtubers my man
This looks so aesthetically bizarre and I am EATING IT UP!! love stuff like this
17:19 Passing a law to ban the French sounds very based to me
Highly experimental, Japanese PlayStation games are an aesthetic.
I fucking love these whimsical random topics, this guy is in my top ten favorite creators for sure
LSD emulator would make more sense than this my god...
This is the game we need, but don't deserve.
It looks like if a unicorn projectile vomited everywere
Seriously I’m gonna get a seizure
Love the dimitri theme in the background. Sly 2 is a masterpiece.
This just proves my point that ps1-ps2 Era Japanese games are fucking wierd lmao
God I hope you become a voice actor. You just have the voice and chops for it!!!
Poinie's Poin is the dark souls of poin-type games
I remember a UA-cam I used to watch reviewed this game like 7 years ago, he was pretty obscure though and don’t think he ever got past 10 thousand subscribers. He might’ve also deleted his account his I can’t find it anywhere.
You got that range man. You definitely should be a voice actor.
I only knew this from a Vinesauce video. It looks pretty cute honestly! Especiallly the creature designs, like the eclairs. I'm a fan.
This is even funnier to watch after Concord.
This is the type of rare game that just feels like I'm on drugs
These games. It looks like gamedevs hired/educating students by saying "Just do something!".
Not only is Strawberry Mama someone with a dead son, she’s actually 24.
I miss the times with Legend of Dragoon, Twisted Metal, Dark Cloud, Gravity Rush, ICO, Shadow of the Collosus games i miss the AA games. They where cheaper experimental, original and pallet cleansers. But with gaming going mainstream, CEO's having the dollar signs in their eyes and the worst thing gamers going for the same shit over and over I think we are screwed.
2:30 holy shit big floppa
been trying to look for this game forever now on the internet and NOW you tell me their ain't no wiki for it? I just like the wild art direction so I wanted to know more about it but couldn't remember the name, so for my final attempt I searched "obscure playstation game" and out popped this video. thanks.
Man ps2 games where so much nicer and fun to play! They where actual games! Where we also got full games, and actually polished instead of the 30% of a game we get now that is also broken
i like that vin playing this made everyone know this game exists, despite him hating it, as usual
Ever thought of doing a video on Cookie's Bustle
bruh this game has the same energy as cookies bustle
“YOURE FUCKIN SLACKIN” killed me XD
The "you're slacking" parts are funny
I had Ape Escape 3 as a kid, it was my favorite game. It was the first game I ever tried to 100% but sucked too much. I've never heard anyone else bring it up until now!
been obsessed with this game ever since hazel name-dropped it in her vampire yuri video. Beat the whole game in a chill week. I say yippie yo you can't touch this every chance i get. so glad to see someone making a video essay about it.
This game is actually super cute... I kinda want to play it now!
this game is so exquisite I think even indies are never this crazy
my brain melted trying to understand this
17:20 Hey... that was uncalled for
"Oh well."
How do videos like this talking about the game just suddenly come out after I literally just learned about the games existence a month ago?
PS1/2/3 and PSP were truly a experimental time
1:53
Vaporeon Jumpscare.
Main girl Sounds like asuka from adv evangelion
So tired of Sony’s overly “cinematic” games
These videos are great to just zone out and learn about some weird shit you never fathomed would exist
I personally know the man who wrote the vaporeon copypasta. He's in our discord server.
This is highly cursed and both 100% unnececery and nececery at the same time
Ask him to make a Snorlax copypasta
Bro I need to play this now thank you, this game look wack as hell 😭
