Anyone claiming to "know Ives" or understand his music...is bluffing. The Housatonic at Stockbridge was a featured piece in the A++ film A Good Dissonance Like A Man of 1977 and has stuck with me since seeing it on VHS around 1999-2000.
Back when, I made a mix tape that went form "The Unanswered Question" straight to Barber's "Adagio for Stings" without a pause. It makes quite the effect.
