I apologise for sounding harsh; this band is obviously a group of crack players. I guess my comment is really that although this band plays all the right notes, this version lacks the edgy lively feel of when the skyhooks played it. By definition, each of Strauks, Macainsh, Starkie and Symonds bring their own nuance to their parts, and their whole is just so incredible and probably impossible to replicate. As mentioned, I was mostly trying to highlight just how special and incredible the Skyhooks ensemble was - they were so much more than just putting the musical notes in the right places. Apologies again.
@@petervad Thanks for your comments Peter. It takes a special musician to plough through two hours non stop replicating multiple styles of music. I think we did okay the end result speaks for itself.
Love the 'Hooks, love shirl, but this is a terrible version - just highlights the magic chemistry the band had; this just sounds lame, tame and wrong! :-)
