BCM is my benchmark. It’s right where $, quality and performance all fall into line. For each $1 spent above the price of a BCM you might get $0.25 increase in quality and/or performance. IMHO
I bought a triarc as a post deployment gift to myself right before the events of 2020. It was pricey ($2200) Great gun though. Bought a BCM more recently as my second AR. Gotta say, I like the BCM better and it was maybe $1100 after I took advantage of a sale. The law of diminishing returns is very real in the world of ARs
They are excellent, but their barrels are a step down from DD. Only reason I bought a DD agter I had a bcm was for their barrel, got the ddm4v7 lw and it's noticeably more accurate than the BCM barrel in my recce 16 kmr-a
100% agree. Best I could get out of my BCM was 1.30” MOA off a very solid bench setup. And a PA GLX LPVO optic. It’s a thin barrel and hates suppressor heat also. Therefore, to make the rifle perfect (to me) the barrel will get swapped to something heavier.
@@xxdizannyxxI appreciate you purchasing the best equipment you can, there’s just nothing to actually back up the claim that DD barrels are better. No statistics, no objective metrics to go off of. Just anecdotally fallacious testimonials. At the end of the day, both companies are battle proven and their barrels will last at least 15k-20k rounds before you start to see diminished accuracy
@@scott2228I’m guessing you have the enhanced light weight barrel. BCM doesn’t recommend running a suppressor through those. The MK2 with the standard BFH barrel runs like a dream suppressed, but that’s what it’s designed for
I bought an Aero upper and had buyers remorse when I received it due to the barrel not having a drilled gas port (bolt-action). They did fix it, and now I enjoy it quite a bit, but you shouldn't receive a barrel with no gas port. Thankfully I knew about their BCG issues so I had a Microbest at the ready.
think about the fact that someone installed the gas block onto the barrel and didnt notice the missing gas port! how do they even make sure they are lined up correctly.....
@@przemekchmielewski2137exactly.. The U.S. Military uses these weapons for a reason. This idea that “mil-spec” is trash is crazy…. Also if you haven’t produced weapons for the military you shouldn’t be allowed to call your equipment “mil-spec”..
If they put a different trigger people would complain about the unnecessary added price, and you'll never get the right aftermarket trigger in that rifle to appease everyone.
Windham is slept on because they are pretty small and build extreamly basic rifles. But they build them extreamly well, with each part inspected and assembled by people who are highly skilled and not over worked. They trade flash for function, quality, and proper specs.
Sadly, I have just over $2K in a Radian Model 1, and it's the most accurate, softest shooting, tight-fitting AR-15 that I have ever shot. Otherwise, there are options that are less expensive.
The last post John Noveske made was about how every mass shooter has been on some form of prescription antidepressant. Noveske quality used to be damn near S+ and after he passed it has seemed to slip down pretty hard. The infidel was the first 13.7 rifle I saw over a decade ago, before every other company went there. I wouldn’t pay $400 plus ever again since Johns passing. My geissele’s and bcm rifles are still my favorites. I’ve had every worth while brand on this list minus the lower end ones and KAC. First was old school bushmaster over 20 years ago but back then it was pretty much just colt and bushy. I’ve never experienced the DI LWRC but there IC SPR in 14.7”. That’s was when LWRC went after Sig lol. Funny to see how much has changed in this market
I had issues with an Aero upper. I contacted customer service, sent videos of the issue and.... they ghosted me. But according to the comments section, it was a me problem obviously ;)
The one lower I received that was blemmed while paying for a non blem was immediately RMA’d…I guess your mileage may vary….if you didn’t use Their support center that will Slow things down
Value absolutely should be part of these kinds of conversation because it's something that kept coming up - for example, you were saying about DD vs BCM where DD is slightly better than BCM but also costs 50% more, which almost certainly pushes BCM above DD.
I got a psa upper during covid and have about a thousand rounds through it over the past 4 years with no issues. I would gladly buy another upper from them again, and if I have to give it a look over I’ll chalk it up to a learning experience. I like to tinker. I have heard the horror stories of their qc though, so I like to think I’m not walking into it blind. That said, I also wouldn’t mind getting an upper from BCM or focus.
That would actually require LMT/Noveske/LWRC/HK owners to fire more than 50 rounds through them to get data lmfao. I think we accept they are good because it’s been used by the military community to some degree, which is its own fallacy. I’ve seen plenty of end users complain about LMT QC and even seen a Noveske bolt catastrophic failure. Are these lemons or do they make the brands a no go? It seems to be a lot of anecdotes and generalizations
Fairly often what you’ll see with people trying to “save money by building themselves” is that, with all the extra money people spend on upgrading their mid tier rifles, they could have just saved that money up, gotten something significantly better straight from the factory, and have a lil money left over
I would very strongly disagree if the builder is competent. Instead of "upgrading", simply build from good parts from the start and the potential for a better kit is there. The determining factor is the builder. If the builder can competently source good parts, and can follow basic build procedures; then the possibility for building a good kit AND saving money is very possible. The truth is that most that build their own rifles make mistakes, or don't put in the effort to find good parts for sale. On top of that, many are unwilling or unable to improve. I wouldn't let those people be the standard of comparison though. It hardly represents the capabilities of those in the gunsmithing trade.
@@TheColosiss oh yeh sorry, I realized I left out a couple words in my original comment that make it unclear what I'm talking about. Yeh I'm specifically talking doubling up the number of parts you get instead of just building with a vision and high level criteria in the beginning. If you are patient and wait for opportunities to get the parts you want at a good price, and you get it all together at once, then yeah you can save significant money
Yep, I did this with my bmx…. Bought a mid tier Sunday and put a bunch of top-tier parts on it, but now I have a bike that cost more than the nicest bike they sell and is still lacking the benefits of the frame from their nicer bike and the set of wheels on their nicer bike.
@@JW-wi1nf after looking into firearms pretty good I found POF is the best firearm I could buy at any price. So many parts upgraded and tested to last longer be more robust without being heavier with the revolution being the same weight and size as a ar15 shooting a 308 and being top tier accurate, cant find that anywhere but POF.
My favorite AR15 company is Sionics. The only thing they make is their barrels. Very accurate barrels. I have 5 samples that are all MOA or better with good match ammo. Both chrome and QPQ. They source their uppers and lowers from Mega/Zev. Like others do. Their BCG's are NP3 coated. And they are completley vetted. A ton of departments use them as patrol rifles.
Your thumb nail almost had me about to loose my shit over LWRC..LOL..also I'd rather have over gas then a rifle that cant shoot through tough elements. But that's me
Pof-usa does not make them anymore but they used to have a D.I. BCG That was NP3+ coated was a one piece carrier design like LWRCs(w/ built in gas key), had their patented roller cam pin and a NP3+ coated bolt, now that IMO was the best D.I. BCG on the market for a long time. They still make their piston bcg's like that. .......LWRC has a really nice BCG as well tho, I stuck a POF-USA roller cam pin in mine and it really does smooth out the action alittle bit. But the coating lwrc uses is really good, but it is still inferior to the NP3+ Robar coating. Other then that the two are very similar BCGs..... ...As far as the Giessle BCG goes I have no experience with it, but when they say Reliablity Enhanced I don't know what that means other then they put their own type of coating on it. Other then that it looks pretty plain Jane to tell you the truth. Idk, I am not really impressed with Giessle, I think most of their products including their triggers are over hyped. And over priced, and that is from A guy that does not mind spending $2-3k on a gun that is worth it.
@@FocusTripp I don't know about all that, I guess we just gonna have to agree to disagree. I am really convinced there is a brand loyalty Bias in the gun community when it comes to Giessle products. But hey I am sure I have my own biases as well.
Hopefully you get a Type-A and Blackout Defense on the channel in addition to Noveske and Radian. Noveske and Radian are definitely A+ tier. PWS and VSeven definitely need to be on your next list.
I have thr ruger AR-556 I've shot 3k rounds and only 1 malfunction because at the time i didn't know how dirty steel cased ammo was and didn't clean it so it got a bit gummed up but after cleaning it cointies to work fine . So thats mostly just my fault.
I had a '15-'16 production AR556 that went as long as the barrel went... somewhere around 16k rounds the rifling gave up the ghost. The rifle worked great, actually. For $600 it was a great rifle... that upper is a .350L now, just cuz.
@bobrowley4346 16k rounds is quite a bit actually. I think s&w and Ruger make good starter rifles. I plan on getting a bcm upper too because those are very reliable and last even longer.
@@markanthonypar-wise1499 Yessir, after the rifling went I purchased a complete BCM upper and those two halves have been together since '18, I think. The Ruger BCG is still in use with the .350L, btw, with me never having replaced a part in it... Ruger, apparently, makes or buys quality BCGs. Edit: the majority of those ~ 16k rounds were steel case, too.
Primary Arms still ships whatever you need to Washington State. You must affirm a disclaimer before they ship, but they will ship what you need. Just know your State and Local laws and regulations.
@@A-PatrioT not sure. I actually called them and asked about what it is they are willing to ship out. Optics Planet just took a sh!t on us and won't ship anything. I also called my local gun shops and spoke to staff about aspects of our recent AWB. There is much confusion due to vagueness of the law, in terms of our ability to buy PARTS for rifles like the AR15. Basically everyone is using their own discretion in terms of interpreting the law. Some are willing to take the risk of selling parts within the state. Some refuse to chance it, other may provide limited items such as Barrels and Bolt Carrier Groups. Basically anything that is essential to the construction of an AR15 or its derivatives is off the table. Some places will still sell muzzle devices, collapsible stocks, buffer tubes, safeties, pistol grips, charging handles and so on. In other words, many are assuming the "Right to repair", while others simply refuse to take the risk. Speak to your local dealers, then call Primary Arms to see what they can do.
I def agree with the Geissele placement. They are nice. And getting their triggers and reliability enhanced BCGs is huge value added. Most of us put them in our rifles that we buy from anyone else lol. I’d bet 80% of the guys posting here have Geissele triggers in their guns..or wish they did.🤓
Gotta slot JP in. Remember they don't just make gamer rifles. They are responsible for some of the highest end/most accurate large frame ARs, made waves in the SASS program with the RSASS (remington submitted their rifle)/ They have super high quality barrels, thermofit barrel extensions, great triggers, the list goes on. Easy A+
I generally like Aero’s receivers and rail systems, but their barrels and BCGs have been really suspect post-Covid. BCM is my gold-standard for value and milspec essentials. Faxon is considered “budget” but their products have NEVER done me wrong.
Never baught a complete rifle from a single manufacturer. Always source upper lower handguard from Aero, bcg and barrel from others, Magpul furniture, gas block else where too. You can build a great rifle with a pinned adjustable gas block and a great barrel for $1000-1500
@@TheGrimiest true I do like their lowers but then again a lower is a lower as long as it is to spec. It isn't like barrels and bcg. You just have yo treat them like they are, a parts company. If you buy full gun you basically just disassemble it and rebuild doing your own qc.
@@gator7082 They are fine if you check them over and make sure everything is staked properly and fits etc... Again B is fine for most uses it just isn't up there with LaRue, BCM, knights. I just treat BA or Aero as a parts company if you buy a upper take it apart do your own qc and put it back together with loctite and the correct torque specs. Their lowers and upper receivers are great. I love BA hanson barrels for the money especially on sale or used but basically new. I don't really like their rails they are a little to lightweight (more fore competition) and don't inspire confidence when it comes to durability but they lock up ok and don't rotate. The rest is a wash.
Im not understanding your explanation on the LWRC, you said Geissele is S tier and LWRC is not, but Geissele rifles are over-gassed more then the LWRC. I own both, once my super duty barrel gets hot that group opens up, My LWRC gets hot the group stays alot tighter, and the reason being is the heavy barrel. If a smaller contour barrel gets hot, the group opens up, if a heavy barrel gets hot thats built of quality, the heavy barrel hold groups better. Does my Geissele run like a well oiled machine absolutely, but i hold a 3oc pattern with my LWRC with zero malfunctions, my super duty is 2oc with 3 or 4 stoppages, PMC runs fine in my LWRC, run it through my Super Duty and every now and then she gets a bit unhappy with the PMC. I guess its pretty much preference. Good vid.
I'm the opposite, my Geissele is gassier then my LWRC, cold bore my Geissele is a touch more accurate, after about 2 or 3 mags, my LWRC is a lot more accurate.
I love Geissele and the REBCG is fantastic. I had one in a custom 13.9 that blew up due to an over pressured round from PMC and not only did Geissele send me a brand new REBCG free of charge despite it not being their fault but also were very responsive and sent me a bunch of swag.
Spikes Tactical has a phenomenal customer service. One of their customer service reps, Katherine assisted me with a special order, a custom complete upper build. We corresponded for about two months. I also shot my ST at the range with my buddies who has PSA and other no name brands, and there was a notable difference with shooting my rifle compared to the others. ST is at least a Sold B.
I’ve looked into the Zion-15 and see it as a really good entry AR, has everything you want nothing you don’t, but is probably $100 more than it should be, the quality of all the parts is legit when you dig into it
@@VoFALT Well my PSA must run too because I had absolutely no malfunctions and could shoot steel case and ever grain. Can't say the same about the Knights

They aren't great. The rail itself is fineish in terms of strength and rigidity, but the wedge locks are made out of paper mache. I have had to cut through customers builds after they lock them up and strip them out. Their new Mod 4 rails should be much better in all regards.
@@FocusTripp Ah, I kinda like their wedgelock system, I find it kind of innovative in terms of getting a good lock with minimal hardware. I also like the feel of their slim version. Their new rails are significantly heavier. I've removed them and reinstalled them dozens of times without issues but I guess the mechanically disinclined may have trouble.

I think Geissele gets so much hate because of bill’s weirdness, and how pricy the ssa is. I think Geissele was well placed. On a side note how often do you see full rifles from companies like KAC, LWRC, Larue, or Radian? I hear about them a lot online but I don’t think I’ve seen a single one in person. I’m slightly convinced that they only exist online for people to argue about on ig.
Regarding whether "value" should be included, I think it obviously is important, "quantity has a quality all its own", but value is not a performance metric for most people. For the military, it sort of is a performance metric in that it affects logistics performance and the amount of time and money and delays that go into determining our current fighting capacity, but for most average people, it's not quite as much about their ability to maintain that capacity because most people don't shoot enough for that to make a huge difference anyway. While it is definitely relevant to the conversation, because having two barrels that can give you a total of 30,000 rounds is definitely better than one barrel that can only get you 20,000, but value should be a secondary factor when it comes to putting tier lists like these together. Having two inaccurate rifles is not better than one accurate rifle (unless you have a buddy who is also gonna be helping you mag dump at a target 700yds away and pray that you hit them lol), but at the individual level, performance is what we should be evaluating first, while informing people of price, so they can determine on their own if a certain level of quality is even worth buying. People will know if something is worth it to them financially or not. People will be able to decide if they want to spend the extra money to get something better. But what people have a hard time figuring out, because the info on AR makers is mostly just hearsay and people simping for something they know nothing about because they want to feel good about themselves for having an opinion even when they know nothing about the actual state of the market or the manufacturers in general
(Look at edit at bottom) No POF-USA??? You got Ruger who just literally copied one of their designs, also YOU talked about PWS yet Pws Copied their anti-tilt buffer tube design from POF-USA as well. You have large well known companies using their designs and parts in their own rifles yet you left them off the list? POF-USA makes one of the Best most robust Piston Ar15s on the market in the P415 Edge and Also one of the Most upgraded D.I. rifles for the money right out of the box with the Renegade Plus. They are AMAZING RIFLES. They have won countless awards. EDIT: Nevermind I see you guys put them in at the end, my apologies. Ok but they are Definitely "S" tier not "A"
I'm currently purchasing my 2nd CMMG, you guy's glossed over it pretty quick. I'm getting the Bass Pro version for 700, seems like a deal. I probably would have looked at Geissele seriously if I had seen this first.
On the Geissele front, they had a blem sale on the 4th of July after this stream. I got a super duty stripped 14.5" upper (No charging handle, BCG, or muzzle device) for $485. Definitely S tier.
I don't even think you can realistically put hk on for the 416/417 you'd have to look at the mr556 since that's all that's offered to the civilian market lol
I hade one break but my entire rifle blew up. Massively overcharged round that blew my upper apart. Geissele not only sent me a brand new REBCG free of charge but also a bunch of patches.
I thought the 416 and variants have a firing pin block due to ensuring it passes all drop tests and I think theres a law in Germany that requires some form of firing pin retainer for newly manufactured firearms. Every one of their firearms has something along those lines if not a blatant block it's a retainer of sorts. Maybe theyre just stuck in their ways idk, but IMO I don't think the block is a bad idea, it's kind of nice to know for sure your firearm can't fire if dropped when hot and even Sig must have accepted that view because the MCX has their own firing pin block/retainer.
For anyone curious about Centurion Arms, the guy takes FN barrels and improves upon them, making them more modern. The uppers are damn good, and they’d be solidly in A tier.
@@FocusTripp Love your videos man. You’re one of the good ones! Would be cool to see you review a Centurion upper since you’ve got experience with “regular” FN product. Really don’t think you’d be disappointed
My first AR was the Ruger 556. I still have it and it still works, but the QC on it is terrible. The amount of slop between the upper and lower is laughable. And the Ruger furniture they put on it has long since broken off. The best thing to come out of it was that it helped to teach me about gunsmithing and what to look out for on low quality ARs.
The price of the new Aero Alpha Pro rifles blew my mind. $1900? They might be great but for the other established reliable stuff out there, the price is insane. The handguards LOOK sick tho.
Aero does 10x the amount of business than most companies. From a business standpoint its easier to replace a faulty item rather than slow down production (and sales) to maintain stellar QC. Its almost impossible to have both....AND keep very reasonable prices.
@@KevinWood44 I get it. But from perspective of european buyer this approach sucks, because in case of faulty part you can't reach out to producer directly. You have to rely on retailer and importer, which often do very poor job and you end up waiting months to get your gun fixed.
@@emkroYes, I understand what you're saying. I wasnt making justifications for it, simply explaining from a business standpoint. Amazon does so much business they just throw away most returns and re-ship stolen items bc its simply a matter of convenience for a company that size. But yea if I were you Id fo business with someone else as well. I dont judge a company by never making a mistake as long as they correct the mistake without issue.
No way in hell would I rate S&W and CMMG ARs as B tier! Maybe C tier, but I’ve experienced and seen QC issues with both. Unless someone has had extensive experience with ALL these brands, it’s not fair to honestly categorize all of them while being unbiased.
And I personally had a DD barrel nut so loose I my 13 year old Daughter could spin it off with her hands and the chrome lining looked like ass. I have also had to send one of my Knights back to them THREE times, yet never had one issue from 4 different S&W's one with over 10,000 rounds and the least shot S&W has 3,800 rounds through it. All companies can and will send out shit, its just what happens when people are in charge of looking over hundreds of thousands of parts. Would I ever sell my 3 Knights AR's? HELL NO!!!!! Would I buy a Daniel Defense again? HELL NO!!!!
PSA wouldnt sell to me due to my area code being different on my CC and I lived just down the street from them. They sent me a fraud alert and canceled my order. Only company that did that.
I love my rosco k9 12.5 barrel but I wish they'd do it in something besides stainless steel in the series. I do appreciate the nitride finish though. I also love my 16 inch faxon pencil barrel. It has been a great performer for me in my lightweight rifle build. I've had a couple BCA uppers that ran great but I've definitely seen a lot of people have issues with them. I personally like to assemble my own rifles now though rather than buy a complete upper. Might have to buy one of your dissipators though haha. I do have a KE arms kp15 lower that has a lot of rounds through it and it works great. Its not the wwsd ambi lower. It takes triggers just fine and made a sweet lightweight rifle build. Great video
Everyone sleeps on Centurion. I have built a V7 with Centurion barrel, Zev with Criterion Core barrel, BCM with BCM barrel and Geissele with BCM barrel, and I laugh at my Geissele. I'm glad I built in on Black Friday sale. Geissele is good for triggers, but V7 and Centurion are head and shoulders above in fit and finish, but more importantly where it counts. Barrels and BCGs. Hell, I even prefer the Centurion AST over the SSAE trigger, especially for the money. WTS OD Green Geissele w/ 10.5" Super Modular Rail, SSAE trigger, and 11.5" BCM CHF barrel to finance a Centurion 11.5" Midweight CM4.
Battle Arms Development and Mega Arms used to make really good receivers for the price, don't know if that is still the case today. Those were always my go to for stripped lowers.
2k is not too expensive IF you're buying a quality product. 5.56 is a very capable round and if you can't afford it or if you can it's irrelevant. I love my Super Duty so much, I went ahead and bought 2 more and set them up with another $1500 in accessories. Again if you have the money and the job to back up your spending go for whatever you want and train with it. You're better than the tool you're using and fancy tools don't make you better or more efficient. If you don't know how to use them in a effective way well you’re just wasting your money.
Aero is the only bcg I’ve ever had fail without something catastrophic to cause a failure. I had two bolt carriers that kept failing to lock back on a Daniel defense barrel with a non adjustable gas block. These barrels are overgassed and yet these bolts were not cycling. I ended up selling them and deciding never to buy aero again. No issues with their uppers or lowers but I’ll never buy a functional component from them again. Even KAK I’ve never had issues with… but aero failed out of the box.
I agree with the Aero rating when it comes to everything but their stripped upper/lower receivers. For home builds, their uppers and lowers are legit. Would definitely get everything else...elsewhere.
The Atlas R-One is my favorite rail. It's definitely not going to be the strongest rail, but I don't run IR, lasers or anything that needs crazy strong rails anyway. It's the best looking and pretty much the lightest weight until you start getting into carbon fiber stuff. But yeah, I would still avoid Aero barrels, BCGs and LPKs.
I don't get why there's so little statistical work and collaboration between firearm enthusiasts. Like there's literally millions of us and yet we seem to have horrible data on which guns are actually being made the best and working the best in any given quarter of the year... I mean we don't even really have enough consistent data actually collated into larger, rolling data sets that can analyzed using any high-level statistical tools anyway. Like, the only guy I can think of that actually bothers to do realllll hard work into measuring and reporting this stuff in a coherent way for the community is someone like School of the American Rifle, he's amazing for what he does. I wish that the firearms community was even remotely as dedicated to data collection and analysis as some of the other communities/hobbies involving high-tech equipment that I am a part of. I have no idea how something as huge as the firearms industry and enthusiast community can possibly be so bad at collecting real world data. We should all be able to know with nearly 100% certainty, during any random quarter of the calendar year, which barrels from which companies were shooting most accurately, which parts are standing up to abuse the most, which companies have the best precision, etc. But for some reason, you have to essentially resign yourself to just not fcking knowing what's even good or not because nobody knows how to properly test or measure anything or even know how to properly write down data or know how to upload it or know how to collaborate together online to create meaningful databases. Sometimes I get lucky and I'll find something like that sweet spreadsheet where that guy measures the specs of barrels, like average gas port sizes from manufacturers, gas block journal dimension variations, barrel weights, etc. but otherwise, it feels like most people, even 'UA-cam experts' are just flying blind and have no idea what's going on or what they are even talking about or recommending. >Inb4 "well then why don't you do it then huh man?", well because I just got 'into the community' like a few months ago and I didn't give a sh*t before then, I just shot my Glocks and shot my Daniel Defense and didn't really care about this stuff, but yeh it looks like I'm gonna have to be the one who starts doing this stuff and try to find a way to collect more data. These problems should already have been solved for us by people smarter than us, but instead, because, no offense, it seems like there are not nearly as many truly, high-tier, autistic-wizard levels of intelligent people who are SUPER INTO guns as their hobby instead of their profession. It's not a jab at anyone here in this comments, it's just true that hyper intelligent people tend to be more into other things, and if they are into guns, they are doing some pretty crazy sh*t with guns and spending less time doing consumer analysis and market QC data And the super genius people who are actually into guns are usually the ones who are designing them or engineering them
A lot of these companies don’t manufacture anything lol, they just buy from an oem and slap a label on it. Some will do in house QC, or pay for a high level of QC from the oem though.
Agree on HK’s placement but I strongly oppose the reasonings that aren’t price. I haven’t heard of a single gun that isn’t a DGI AR that people don’t bitch about being “overgassed.” It’s not that every gun except ARs are overgassed, it’s that ARs are extremely low gassed. It’s not that heavy of a gun either. I averaged out the weight of any intermediate caliber rifle I could come up with and the 416 is right in the middle. The idea that it’s this impossibly heavy system just doesn’t hold up unless you’re exclusively comparing it to like, an M4 which is probably the lightest service rifle ever devised. When I was in the marines not a single person took issue with the M27’s “increased recoil” because it’s not even really noticeable, certainly not enough to render it ineffective. These talking points to me just kind of feel like people parroting shit and not based on legitimate experience with it. That being said HK absolutely shouldn’t be A tier when the barrel of the MR556 is a heavy profile, non chrome lined POS and they still haven’t started using the A5 gas blocks, all while charging 3-4 grand for what is essentially a casual bench shooting rifle.
Bought a "freedom" milspec lower and got a free upper. And bought a 20" fluted stainless barrel with a nickel boron chamber, on clearance for 165. $100 for a nickel boron PSA bolt. JP adj block.

Value absolutely should be part of these kinds of conversation because it's something that kept coming up - for example, you were saying about DD vs BCM where DD is slightly better than BCM but also costs 50% more, which almost certainly pushes BCM above DD.
Understood. I think that's where your personal determination comes in.
BCM, PWS, ADM, Geissele, Centurion - would all be good options for complete uppers.
The problem isn’t that low quality brands can’t make good guns, it’s that they can’t make them consistent enough to warrant buying their brand
geissele and larue above LMT, Noveske, LWRC and HK is insane🤣
I do feel bad about LWRC
That would actually require LMT/Noveske/LWRC/HK owners to fire more than 50 rounds through them to get data lmfao. I think we accept they are good because it’s been used by the military community to some degree, which is its own fallacy. I’ve seen plenty of end users complain about LMT QC and even seen a Noveske bolt catastrophic failure. Are these lemons or do they make the brands a no go? It seems to be a lot of anecdotes and generalizations
LMT has PSA levels of QC. I'd even dare say, PSA has better QC than LMT as of late. It's sad.

Yep, I did this with my bmx…. Bought a mid tier Sunday and put a bunch of top-tier parts on it, but now I have a bike that cost more than the nicest bike they sell and is still lacking the benefits of the frame from their nicer bike and the set of wheels on their nicer bike.

Pof-usa does not make them anymore but they used to have a D.I.

(Look at edit at bottom)

I thought the 416 and variants have a firing pin block due to ensuring it passes all drop tests and I think theres a law in Germany that requires some form of firing pin retainer for newly manufactured firearms. Every one of their firearms has something along those lines if not a blatant block it's a retainer of sorts. Maybe theyre just stuck in their ways idk, but IMO I don't think the block is a bad idea, it's kind of nice to know for sure your firearm can't fire if dropped when hot and even Sig must have accepted that view because the MCX has their own firing pin block/retainer.

HELL NO!!!!
@@adamrodgers2377 I’m a BCM, PWS and POF guy, myself.
@@wisco_guy Man I don't know why I dislike Daniel Defense so much, it's a friggin AR Company I ought to be like "Hell yeah" but I can't do it. 🤣
PSA wouldnt sell to me due to my area code being different on my CC and I lived just down the street from them. They sent me a fraud alert and canceled my order. Only company that did that.
Black out defense is one the best rifles you can get but you have to wait months but it seems to be worth it
I love my rosco k9 12.5 barrel but I wish they'd do it in something besides stainless steel in the series. Great video
If they make a 4150 version of the barrel I will buy more of them.
Do you have any opinions on Phase 5 weapon systems? I like the look of the uppers at a good price.
Non.
I jumped in half way, but did hear about the great deal on the Geissele Automatics Super Duty rifle for $1,200. Where can I find a deal like that?
It was on Geissele's website I believe. It's a temporary sale, they do 3-4 a year I think.
@@FocusTripp Thanks - Super Duty MOD1 Rifle, 16", 5.56MM-Black is back up $1,995. I’ll just wait till they have another sale.
Just wait for any holiday.
@Quality_Guru black Friday and cyber Monday
Please get your hands on unbranded AR ... they also have an carbon(polymer) lower
...
Battle Arms Development and Mega Arms used to make really good receivers for the price, don't know if that is still the case today. Those were always my go to for stripped lowers.
Were the hell is Sons Of Liberty Gun Works !?!?!
Don't forget about the Geissele trigger pocket! All you need is a drill bit.
I wonder how Cobalt Kinetics rates on your list?
I need more experience, but I would imagine high tier.
Geissele isnt $1600 regular price. More like $2200 regular price and like $1300 on sale on black friday
It's not a jab at anyone here in this comments, it's just true that hyper intelligent people tend to be more into other things, and if they are into guns, they are doing some pretty crazy sh*t with guns and spending less time doing consumer analysis and market QC data
And the super genius people who are actually into guns are usually the ones who are designing them or engineering them
Geissele is S Tier. I own one, it’s perfect. There is nothing I’ve felt that competes, period. Take that sentence very literally, nothing I’ve felt.
Lol the thumbnail got me. I clicked on this video prepared for war in the comments 😂
I know this video has been out a little while but I can’t believe Centurion Arms was left out in my opinion A tier.
A lot of these companies don’t manufacture anything lol, they just buy from an oem and slap a label on it. Some will do in house QC, or pay for a high level of QC from the oem though.
A lot them do make changes to the products.
Thinking of getting one of your mk3’s, where would you place them on this list?
C+ basic parts assembled correctly.
Agree on HK’s placement but I strongly oppose the reasonings that aren’t price. I haven’t heard of a single gun that isn’t a DGI AR that people don’t bitch about being “overgassed.”
It’s not that every gun except ARs are overgassed, it’s that ARs are extremely low gassed.
Ballistic and Aero make great parts for a home build.
Agreed
Value
Bought a "freedom" milspec lower and got a free upper. And bought a 20" fluted stainless barrel with a nickel boron chamber, on clearance for 165. $100 for a nickel boron PSA bolt. JP adj block. A5 buffer and a MBT2 Larue trigger. Stngnr Vulcan handguard. 1.5" with surplus 55gr.
Tight receiver fit, jacking screw removes all play. Tight barrel fit, had to heat the receiver a little for some expansion. All around good value. Entire build minus scope and bipod $1100.
1:13:28 Autistic Radios beef is not a PSA beef its a federal law and State law beef. Federally unable to sell a pistol to out of state, and unable to transfer it to Washington state which is why its a no sell state. Correct you beef sir
I have DDs and BCMs, IWI Zions and Tavors, and more…it’s a Colt 6920 by my bed. The rest are in the safe. My 6920 has been beat on and just keeps kicking.
