    South facing colors next week? We were hoping to see them tonight! 😭

    What I love in my south facing small guest room is SW's Simple White. It retains a somewhat cool tone even with the sunset shining in. It's so hard to find a white that always feel fresh and I still walk in that room from time to time and smile because it's one of the areas in my house that I truly nailed.

    I have used a Benjamin Moore color in my South facing rooms that is called CALM I forgot the number. I’ve used it as a ceiling color and wall color in another room. It is a light grey that has warm (red) undertones. I really like this color. This color really changes a lot depending on your light. I find it to have depth to it that I like. I also just put a Benjamin Moore color called CHAMELEON in my south facing kitchen. I love how this turned out! Another color that really changes due to light . Good luck!!

    I have a south-east facing room; the only window faces a covered patio that leads to a carport. So it’s sort of dark most of the day. I went with BM Swiss Coffee in eggshell for walls and in semigloss for the trim. It really brightened up the space.

    Since 2016, my south facing room is SW Universal Khaki. I get a lot of light from a big sliding glass door. Now that I have a ton of plants in there, I'm thinking about going lighter with BM Swiss Coffee! :D I need more LRV!

    This is so true,. My kitchen and dining room is on the south, grey looks beige and white looks yellow. I would add drops of blue to my paints to stop getting yellowish walls... I'm the winter or when it's cloudy, the colors in my house seem way to cool, while when the sun shines it seems to warm. Flipside is my living room that is on the north feels dark and not alive at all,. Little did i know I should've adjusted my paints to accommodate the lighting difference. But it's weird to use warm on one side of the space and cool on the other side, right ? 😅😅

    can you do a post on the best colors for South facing rooms with lots of light? I feel like most recommendations are light & airy. I really understand that b/c in my south facing room light colors get completely washed out. i’d love a series on midtone colors

    I have a south facing room with floor to ceiling windows and an entire wall of mirrors. It’s just SO much light. Anything grey or blue turns purple.

    Been playing with our walls that face a little more south in our open concept. Already did a feature wall on one end when we moved in (courtland blue). Thinking of having decorators white in the middle and then going with a cool green in the kitchen.

    Could you talk more about using happy colors like tints and brighter tones? I'm glad to know it's easier to use them in south facing rooms.

    This light exposure color series is THE BEST! Would you do more, like suggest flooring that goes well in these situations and that work well with the paint colors you suggested in this series? A kind of a template would be so helpful - start here. Would you do a series like, contemporary beach house - paired with these colors and directional light exposure? Or Victorian & the same? These two styles are everywhere where I live. I could move and have a template for either. ( my two cents ... South: Su-thern not Sow-thern. Hence the "u" in South. ;D )

    Can you do a video on townhomes and/or condos that are the middle units? I have one that has no windows on the East and West walls. So even tho I have a lot of South facing windows and it looks light and bright on the other end of my open concept space it is dark.

    I have 1 small but awesome room that has a south eastern combo exposure. And I’m thinking of painting it off black because it’s too bright for me. But I like dark colors, cool colors & cool lighting. Just the opposite of what you usually say? I do like some lighter colors, & whites. Would you recommend a creamer white with blacks or off blacks, dark Smokey greys or a cool toned? Or does it always depend on the under tones? I like both combinations.

    I'm actually struggling with choosing a paint color that had southwest exposure! It has a high ceiling but the room is small with not much natural light due to a porch and trees. I'm considering BM secluded beach. Other colors I'm mulling around ate Navajo White, Beach glass , palladian blue, par four, and even Guilford or Fernwood green. My mom doesn't want blue or green. Navajo white looks washed out. Ballet white looks dingy. I keep coming back to secluded beach. But too much yellow?

      Try shell white from sherwin William I have southwest exposure as well and it was so hard to decide
      I put shell white on the wall and pure white on the ceiling it was beautiful but still didn’t make the last decision for doors and trim 😣

    Hey guys!! Thanks for putting this out. I am looking for a light gray with a high LRV to paint my west/north bedroom that has almost no natural light. My house color pallette is more of gray, Morning fog, taupe and snowbound. I tried adding depth by using French silver instead but the room looks really dark and dingy and with a new baby, I want it to feel open and airy. HELP PLEASE!!!

    Maybe it's because I live in Canada and not the States..... My place is south facing and all my colours have LRV around 79. And the colour looks dramatically different at different times of the day. My kitchen is done in Heaven (Benjamin Moore). Sometimes it looks like putty, sometimes gray, sometimes lavender, sometimes almost blueberry.(I love it). Deeper colours look way too saturated and almost muddy in the evening. I changed all my lightbulbs to daylight 5000 degrees Kelvin.

    • @maryanna71701
      @maryanna71701 3 роки тому

      Heaven is Heaven 😍 It would change a lot depending on the time of day. That light of an LRV would be hard for me to work with in a south facing kitchen! Would love to see yours!

      @@l.5832 You may be on to something! Whispering Spring is a lovely color~ how does it not get drowned out by the light? I tried Ewing Blue in my south facing kitchen and it is far too light for me… 😕What to do?

    • @l.5832
      @l.5832 3 роки тому +1

      @@maryanna71701 Awnings on the windows prevent sun from coming directly in. Also, I think the northern latitude may change the intensity of the light some. I have white trim so it sets off the blue beautifully. I just love Whispering spring. In a bedroom the colour intensifies because all 4 walls are done in it and the colour ' bounces off of each other' . In a kitchen you have cupboards and appliances that will reflect their own light and colour and effect the paint.
