I love the RVD as WWE Champion Smackdown storyline. Sure it was unexpected as RVD didn't actually win the WWE Championship until 2006 but it's still a great storyline to work with rather than taking the fall for Teddy Long being run over with John Cena as WWE Champion.

Stone Cold actually did an awesome job with the voiceover for this game as the protagonist. Never selected him, but he's got solid chops for games scripts haha
This is what I liked about old WWE games. Of course I like the showcase modes for 13, 2k14, and 2k16, good modern games with stories inspired by the real life events of WWE. But the 5 Smackdown games and SVR games had a charm to them because, the graphics still hold up, the gameplay is fun and the original stories they came up with were fun and goofy, and not cringey and unbearable like the showcases 2k has nowadays. The smackdown and SVR games were 100% fun because of everything they had in store. With 2k games, it's a hit or miss. The only 2k games I really enjoyed were 14, 16 and battlegrounds. Oh, and let's not forget the amazing soundtracks these games had.
Such great memories from these old games man, absolute love towards it. But one thing I never got was the clipping of the title belts when it was on people's shoulders. Anyone know why that ever was?
Its sad that it had to take until WWE 2k19 for wrestling games to get an incredible storymode like this and SvR2007. With better graphics, technology, etc i am so pissed we can't get this level of quality and love with the newer games, its a damn shame.

There’s so much good dialog and great scenes, but at the same time the game is filled with a bunch of random monologging to stretch out the storyline thrown in with the interactions
I still really wish you could play as the World Heavyweight Champion (Batista) and WWE Champion (John Cena) in this season mode. But now I think about it I wish there were more normal storylines (along the 2 Raw storylines and 2 SmackDown storylines) cause there really weren't a whole lot of storylines in this season mode compared to 07 and 08. If they added more storylines on Raw you could have feuds with Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Chris Benoit. Batista, and Kane. On SmackDown you could have feuds with Rey Mysterio, Big Show, and Chavo Guerrero. I cool idea I had for the Championship storylines is in the Road to WrestleMania storylines after you defend your title at the Royal Rumble you get to CHOOSE who you want to challenge for your WWE title or World Heavyweight Title. On Raw you choose either Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, and Kane. On SmackDown you choose Undertaker (you challenge his streak to), Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Booker T Big Show, and JBL. How does all that sound to you?

The teddy long story line where it was actually you who ran him over was crazy the first time I got that option in a play through back in the day. I was shocked !

I still really wish you could play as the World Heavyweight Champion (Batista) and WWE Champion (John Cena) in this season mode. But now I think about it I wish there were more normal storylines (along the 2 Raw storylines and 2 SmackDown storylines) cause there really weren't a whole lot of storylines in this season mode compared to 07 and 08. If they added more storylines on Raw you could have feuds with Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Chris Benoit. Batista, and Kane. On SmackDown you could have feuds with Rey Mysterio, Big Show, and Chavo Guerrero. I cool idea I had for the Championship storylines is in the Road to WrestleMania storylines after you defend your title at the Royal Rumble you get to CHOOSE who you want to challenge for your WWE title or World Heavyweight Title. On Raw you choose either Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, and Kane. On SmackDown you choose Undertaker (you challenge his streak to), Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Booker T Big Show, and JBL. How does all that sound to you?
