    Got the dynamic in stone grey, allergic to turbo's (blame VW for that). Plus has greater range and goes as fast as I need to go. Comfy drive 😄 very efficient. All EV driving during the week.

      Great. Those are good points for getting the Dynamic.

      Not me, I prefer the Premium AWD anyway. Because turbo

    Hi
    Nice presentation. Is the turbo version reliable ? Would non turbo last longer

    • @EVQuest
      @EVQuest  Місяць тому

      I’m not sure if the long term reliability differences. Turbo was much more enjoyable to drive performance wise

    Great review. I understand the car doesn't offer adjustable lumbar. How did you find the support for the lower back ?

    • @EVQuest
      @EVQuest  6 місяців тому +1

      I thought the seat had enough support. I wasn't doing say 8 hours of non stop driving to test it out. But I have a bit of a dodgy back and it felt well supported.

    • @stevenvalle7319
      @stevenvalle7319 6 місяців тому +1

      Lumbar support is quite good, do need to adjust the seat to find the sweet spot. No pain after 320km day trip

    Would the Sealion 6 tempt you away from an alternative hybrid SUV?

      Here on the other side of the ditch there are significant tax savings if you get a PHEV which Plugless hybrids do not get. Competing PhEv are generally significantly more expensive. How is the situation in NZ

    Did you measure the boot size at 425L or take the brochure value? Some sites say it's larger.

    I think the next Sealion is a full EV. I'll be getting the PHEV Premium version. Looks so nice. Seats are so cushy. Love it in black or grey.

    Wait for Gen 5 DM engine ~ 2000km range. Front not the best looking. Premium drives well, very quiet. Resale value who knows…

    • @stevenvalle7319
      @stevenvalle7319 6 місяців тому +1

      The 2000km range is under ideal conditions and relatively low speeds. 1400km is probably closer to reality, as tested using highway speeds with aircon on etc. Cars getting this are sedans which are more aero dynamic and lighter than the sealion 6

    Thanks, well covered. I still reckon they are barking up the wrong tree. Price. They need to focus on cars half the price.

    • @paxmaniac1
      @paxmaniac1 6 місяців тому

      There's the Dolphin, and probably soon the Seagull at much cheaper price points. But I think it makes sense to start with some relatively premium models.

    • @MiniLuv-1984
      @MiniLuv-1984 6 місяців тому

      @@paxmaniac1 Even the Dolphin is $40k - for this size car the price should be closer to $20k. I don't know whats wrong with them, they are completely missing the "affordable" aspect. Too much focus on "trinkets"? In a country where the charging infrastructure is not developed, fast chargers that do exist gouge you, you would think that is a strong signal to deliver more affordable EV's otherwise people will stick with ICE or Hybrids.

    • @BeastofBrooklyn
      @BeastofBrooklyn 6 місяців тому

      They’re super cheap in China, but I’m guessing the Aussie government doesn’t want to kill Tesla right away

    • @paxmaniac1
      @paxmaniac1 6 місяців тому

      @@MiniLuv-1984 they will always be somewhat more expensive than ICE cars, just because batteries are expensive. You have to remember you'll save $3k or more per year in running costs. Most people who are that budget conscious will bit second hand, and as we keep getting told, second hand EVs are pretty good value.

    • @MiniLuv-1984
      @MiniLuv-1984 6 місяців тому

      @@paxmaniac1 Its an argument the industry continues to promote and I don't buy it - firstly you have no ICE and transmission, emission controls, etc. etc. etc.. Second manufacturers pretend that current battery technology will replace the fuel tank - in larger vehicles it can't. Most EV's have far too big a battery - it needs to be around 20 - 30kWh, so a/ fast chargers can charge them in minutes and b/ you can charge them at a power-point overnight. Finally 20-30kWh only provides for vehicles at the small end of the market - there are very few EV's that aim for that segment. One has to design things that are fit for purpose. When you don't, costs go through the roof.
