    Evan Bouchard or Quinn Hughes? That is the question! In this video I've give my thoughts on who I would rather have to start a franchise. The answer is fairly obvious, but the more you look at the numbers, the more your mind could change!
    Had a lot of fun with this one guys. Please show your support, would absolutely mean the world. It's been a grind lately and I've kind of just been burnt out, so I do apologize for that! But keep liking and subscribing as it really does go along way, and drop a comment as I read every single one! Thanks for everything guys! See you in the next and as always don't be Average, when you can be AboveAverage!

    Quinn Hughes is better and is the best player on his team.
    If he played with McDavid and Draisaitl, he’s probably putting up 120 pts a season.

    Its an interesting debate, Bouche is great, but he played almost exclusively in a five man unit with Mcdavids line in the playoffs. It's hard to evaluate his true value when you have a guy that warps gravity on the ice.

    Evan Bouchard's numbers are vastly inflated by quarterbacking McDavid's power play unit. Quinn Hughes is the better player, no competition.
    Also it's unfair to judge Hughes' playoffs when the Canucks had not been to the playoffs in a while whereas Bouchard has tons of experience.

    Would we have this conversation if Hughes were playing with McDavid and Draisaitl? No. The Canucks had no second line last season. We'll see how the Oilers can handle Peterson's line now that he has a supporting cast. Expect JT Miller's line to produce in a big way as well with Boeser in a contract year. Watch the Canucks bottom six to wear out and produce offense which will free up their top 6. I don't think the defense or goaltending would be an issue as well if the forwards are doing their job in banging teams down and keeping their opponents on the other end of the ice with scoring chances. That being said, the team that stays healthy will be more productive in the playoffs. Expect to see the smart teams on top to have an early push the start of this season. If the Oilers needed a game 7 to pass the Canucks of last year, yeah...I don't think that would ever happen this time around. Stay healthy my friends.

    I love Bouchard and the oilers and I think that he might be more built for playoff hockey than Hughes. I think it's Draisaitl who goes from a beast in the regular season to an insane animal in the playoffs in terms of production. Not to mention, I don't know how much playoff experience Hughes and Pettersson have, especially compared to the oilers

    I compare these two to some older hockey players. Quinn reminds me of Erik Karlsson, while Evan reminds me of Brian Leech. Who would you rather have on your team, Karlsson or Leech? Either way, it is hard to go wrong!

  • @petesurovic5178

    Not even the same type of Dman, Quinn gets pushed off the puck by a 12 year old kid, doesn't defend for shit. Bouch has some position lapses but can also shoot the puck through a goalies stomach. I guess it's just a biased opinion like most on this thread anyway.

    Defensive play is so, so, so important. And when you have a team that is so offensive (Oilers), someone like Hughes would be better. You need a balanced team. And I don't think there are enough defensive defenseman out there to fill the holes.

    It’s so funny hearing everyone saying “lets see how good he is away from McDavid” or “If Bouchard didn’t have McDavid, Bouchard will be an AHL player”. I think I’ve heard the exact same thing with Leon and Hyman. So from these stupid logics, without McDavid, Leon is a 70 point player, Hyman is a top 9 player and Bouchard is an AHL guy. Makes me laugh how delusional people can be and don’t realize all these guys are top end players without McDavid. Sure McDavid obviously helps but insanely delusional comments. I guess with that logic Paul Coffey isn’t one of the best d man of all time because he played with Wayne, Kurri and Messier???

  • @ericknutson8135
    @ericknutson8135 14 днів тому

    Stylistically Bouchard fits with McDavid better than Hughes would with McDavid. Hughes drives play but that would be less beneficial with McDavid who doesn’t need that in a defensemen as he’s the best in the world at it.

    now as a canucks fan i gotta say something, i didnt hear in the video that you have to take into account is the playoff experience between the 2 (i would think playoff experience is important for a small guy who can get hit easily so he knows how to handle it) and the players surrounding them. this was Quinn Hughes first time being in a non pandemic playoffs environment and Bouchard has been i believe 3 times, you can let me know if I'm wrong. and as i said before the players surrounding them, my assumption would be is if Quinn Hughes had Draisaitl and Mcdavid to play with him he could put up similar points probably a little less. Quinn Hughes had a injured Petterson who couldn't perform and jt miller. i would bet that when Hughes gets more playoffs experience he will outperform Bouchard, though Bouchard is also going to get better with time. (ok just looked it up and Bouchards first time in the playoffs actually had very similar numbers to Hughes) now i know people will hate and say that im wrong, im biased, or even playoff experience isn't that important and whatever someone's brain may conjure up. im not trying to be biased just trying to say my piece and my thoughts on the matter. good day to you all. this comment is way to long but there is no turning back now lol.
