It's definitely not useless! No language is useless and I really enjoy learning it :)
I didn't say it, it was in my comments :)
@@finntasticbeast I know :)
@@jonasbenjamin645 😂😂 so you just informed the commenters 😅
Exactly! ;)
I started learning Finnish to write lyrics for heavy metal songwriting using harsh vocals. Finnish has a musical element that makes growling sound angelic. But the language is really growing on me and I'm going to learn more so I can read the Kalevala in Finnish. Great videos great personality
Fantastic!! Omg Kalevala, hopefully you will love it (and understand it) 🤗🤗
"Is that bird going to kill me?" - literally the constant mood when in Australia
Also, feeling intruded by a bird walking several meters away - literally Finnish mood XD
Don't be stupid.....the bird won't hurt you.....it the drop bears that you should be worried about
I just found your video while
Searching for Finnish language and I am glad I did. I am trying to learn Finnish as I am planning to visit. Thanks for the video.
I feel like this channel will turn to a comedy one and it will win a big time :D
..and now Switzerland too! I really like your videos :D hyvää yötä x)
You are adorable! I want to learn some Finnish, that's how I found you. Although it's not a channel for learning Finnish, I'm glad that I found it. You are really funny.
Haha yes not really that educational, thanks for watching though! ❤️
Just started learning Finnish today, super excited to learn more about the culture and language
As a Franska... I have been studying, practising English for almost 20 years, and I think English is very hard. No logic in the pruniunciation. Look at the "the" sound. Where does this sound come from? After all these years practising I still cannot fathom it when someone speaks English!! With Finnish seems really easier with many sounds apparently less/ unused (ch, f). I would definitely vote for Finish to be the number 1 worldwide language!!! Love Finnish :) :)
what about the?
@@adhdbookworm it's hard to pronounce to many of us, and it's missing from many languages
I have been researching my ancestry and learned that my family is originally from Finland, though we left in the 17th century to avoid Catholicism 🤷🏼♀️. Our surname is Larsen. I have learned a lot about Finland, the culture, the people, the things foreign people like/dislike/find weird about Finland. All I know is I want to come home!! I’ve enjoyed watching your videos. You speak beautiful English, and I LOVE your accent!! I’m glad you’re the first Finnish I’ve “met” :) and my first Finnish cousin?? 🤪
I guess I could share I’m in the U.S.
@@stephaniemyers9209 oh that's so cool!! I hope you get to visit Finland soon and experience Finnish nature, sauna and food!! ❤️❤️
A Gabonese is watching too... from Morocco! An yes, you’re a very funny person. I enjoy watching your videos, and how Finnish sounds. I may even give it a shot some day, but for now I’m still learning High Valyrian... just to annoy even more that guy who says Finnish is useless! Please let him know. 😆
I'm amazed you found somewhere in Australia that had a fast enough upload speed. Though maybe the eastern states have that.
Thank you for your Finnish lessons. I'm fascinated by the Finnish language, and have been ever since I saw the film "The Winter War." I speak English, Spanish, and German, and hope to add Finnish to my total.
Very funny and unexpected bird fear haha; you were so nice to those comments, other people would have been really harsh but I liked it nonetheless. By the way, I'm watching from Colombia haha. Thanks for the vids.
Hahaha I wasn't sure if the bird was also dangerous like many other creatures here 😂😂😂🐦
@@finntasticbeast Well, Australia was "at war" with some birds because of the overpopulation, so I feel you.
😂 How many options you have in finnish for the verb to do in the present tense? In english: do/does. In portuguese we have 6 possibilities (one for each person: I, you (singular), he/she it, we, you (plural) and they. Plus so many versions of past tenses, future tenses, etc... I think I can survive. I survived portuguese!!! Your channel is great!
i love finnish culture and finnish language and i wanna learn more
You are a fantastic teacher 🥛🥛
thank you - really enjoyable videos. Australia is really ok and bush turkeys are not that bad.
Born in Finland 🇫🇮, immigrated to Canada at the age of ten. I’ve noticed the Finnish dialect sounds much harder (harsher?) than I remember it being. Maybe because Mom was Swedish? I find it quite difficult to understand the newer speech. Just an observation.. Enjoy your videos.
hello and thank you . How can I study a PhD in translation in Finland?
can i complete my studies in Finland, specializing in translation? I
studied Arabic, English and French in a bachelor’s degree, and Arabic
and French in a master’s degree.
@finntasticbeast what first step i have to learn about Finnish?do you have an instagram?
Hello,
I have read the Kalevala and my favourite part was about Ilmarinen, the first smith (I collect Finnish puukkos). I hope you have a great time in Oz. Watch out for that demon sun lol. Too much and it will destroy that fantastic complexion you have. I personally would rather be in Rovaniemi (I hate the heat). Oh, and don't eat the Vegemite! It is disgusting sludge made out of the remains in the bottom of the vat where beer is brewed. Think of it as Guinness porridge. Same stuff called Marmite in the UK. Cheers, Steve
I need a lot of sunscreen lol. I love Rovaniemi but much prefer the summer tbh :) oh no I don't like marmite or vegemite 🤢
Also so cool you read Kalevala
A friend of mine learned Finnish, and he asked a Finnish friend if he had an English accent when he spoke Finnish. His friend said 'How would I know? I've never met any other foreigners who speak Finnish'; i.e. he was saying he hadn't learned to distinguish between various foreign accents in Finnish because he hadn't heard them, unlike how English speakers have heard Germans, French, Italian, Russian, etc., people speaking English many, many times and can tell the difference. I don't know if this is less true now, but that's the only non-Finn I've met in my life who spoke Finnish, including someone else I know who has a Finnish wife. And by the way, you really do sound Irish when you speak, and more southern Irish, Dublin perhaps. I thought that with the previous video I watched. I wonder if that's just a coincidence of a Finnish accent influencing an English (more likely American, in fact). I'd have imagined if I met you somewhere that you'd lived in Ireland for a while, or had an Irish husband or something. I knew a German girl who spoke with a hint of Irish, but she had an Irish boyfriend. I know a Russian who does the same (he even says 'eejit', in place of 'idiot'), but he has an Irish wife. Maybe you've watched the box set of 'Father Ted' a hundred times?
Thats a Good One ! Someone learned suomi by Himself ! I am sure that He makes The News soon as He is discovered !
@@holoholopainen1627 Yeah, well, that's what he told me. He lived there for a little while I think. He maybe had lessons too. I guess the Suomese attract Angry Birds so watch out don't stay in those parks too long. What species was that one by the way, wild turkey? Could not tell. Hey have you ever run after hens? They seem so slow and careless but always manage to escape your hands each time you think you're about to catch it. Darn! One time I made the mistake of hanging my clothes close to a hen cabin, the next morning I smelled like guano because I had nothing else to wear. Darn! Well anyhow, I don't have the best experience either with these small beasts I guess. Thanks for the interesting unilateral conversation, I was talking to myself to tell you the truth. Good night.
Hahah Suomese attract angry birds, love it!!! Yes it's the Australian brushturkey bird 🦃😂

I think you are an interesting cultural mix. I have never subscribed to a channel before, but for your channel is interesting. I am from the UK, and I have worked in Suomi quite a lot. Everyone speaks English really well there.. It is a lovely country, in my experience.
I don’t think Finnish is a redundant language. I think it is kaunis. I am trying to learn it because I think all languages are interesting and beautiful. Language and culture are conjoined twins....if you see what I mean.
And cultures are important.

I really like your videos and want to visit your beautiful country very soon. My grandfather was two years old when he and his family moved to the US (Massachusetts) for work opportunities. I guess times were tough back then regarding employment. He taught me a few Finnish words but he died when I was 7 so I did not have him for very long.
What did you do to turkeys, why do they want to kill you everywhere you go?
Yritä arvata mikä kieli tämä on?
Love you from Bangladesh. You are so beautiful.
Suomen alkohinkulutus on Euroopassa keskitasoa. Katsokaa video" Country alcohol consumption comparison."
Itsemurhat ovat laskeneet 30:ssä vuodessa
Katsokaa video " Suicide rates in the world/Country suicide rate comparison."
62 korkeinta itsemurha maata ja Suomea ei ole edes mainittu.
I just started learning Finnish today. Personally, i really like it. I can't wait to become fluent.!.🖤
I'm from Finland as well and swedish is my native language. Swe and Eng is related so it's way easier for " us" to learn eng compared to finnish. People in Finland are generally stubborn like germans and french..only one language is "" the one"" so a finnish speaking person calls swedish language in school for " pakko ruotsi"" and even if they come to my town and they " know" a bit swe..they won't change ( too stubborn) ofc there are Exceptions ..like people who are more open and not hostile towards the minority swedes who live here. You talk very good english! Keep up with the good work 👍
Ruotsin oppiminen suomessa on tosi asia.

Finnish is a useless language?... I don't agree... For me, Finnish is a world language. I started to study that when I was 14. I worked later in Helsinki, for 2 months, and then for 6 years Finnish was my work language in Prague. I have used Finnish also with other foreigners, like Estonians, Swedes, Czechs... Personality-wise, the Finnish women seem to be the most amazing in the world.
Am I mistaken?
I am THE only amazing being and the only being reflecting big terms like personality and Lady etc - all wom’n are the exact opposite of amazing / personality / lady / other big terms or compIiments etc, and the misused big terms amazing and personality and wise and men and Ra (in Rafael) must be edited out and changed!
It is beyond wrang to misuse big terms / compIiments etc and unsuitable names / letter combinations that only reflect me & my pure protectors aka the alphas! And all wrang things are to be b4nned in TNW! And even in those Nordic countries, most people know it’s wrang, which is why they are usually very introverted and do not tend to say such things to other people!
And that word can only be spelled wom’n because it cannot end in man / men - only my pure protectors aka the alphas reflect the words man / men and guy / lad / boy / swain etc and friend / bf / lover etc, and only I reflect compIiments and all the love related terms and all the royalty terms and other big / purity / respectability terms and nature / plant / flower related terms etc, and love only exists for me the only lovable / loved / lovely / godly / adorable / awesome / amazing / great etc being!
...no one wants to see such db op, yet there are always a few b2thas that say such things, that aren’t true and that promote impztrz etc and wrang behaviors!
...by putting wom’n or other hum’n on an undsvd pedestal
where they don’t beIong...
...where only I The Goddess belong!
