ULTRAWIDE, I just returned the 34 inch because Best Buy had a sale on the 39 inch for $999. The 39" would be perfect at 3840 x 1600 / 240hz QD-OLED and glossy. would be an instant buy from me. Neither of these are clear enough to buy. you will need to sit ~40" away to make the pixels look ok.
Not sure I really get the PPI being a problem. My cousin uses a 55" Samsung S90C as a monitor, which has a PPI of 80, and everything looks crystal clear on it. Is PPI really that bad on the 45" here?
Ppi is dependent on how close you sit to the screen farther you are from it the less it matters on a low ppi if you are close then you need a higher ppi
I’f your purely looking for a monitor to game on, and you’ve considered the Samsung g8 OLED or G9 OLED I think the LG 39GS is the perfect choise. It’s wider than the g8, but not as monstrously wide as the g9 if you have limited desk space, plus it has all black bezels, where the Samsung’s have that silver bezel wich takes away from the immersion imo. Also the 800r curvature is way more comfortable then the 1800r the Samsungs provide, especially if you compare it to the g9 wich is to wide for the curvature it has, since you have to move your head left and right to see the corners. I know what im getting myself on Black Friday this year!
I recently returned the 34" and bought the 39" because i wanted a bigger picture but you do sacrifice image quality. The ppi is noticeable on the 39 compared to the 34 so. Id honestly shouldve kept the 34 " and just bought a monitor arm instead. Welp im happy with the 39 size and ill probably just end up buying the 34 again and passing this one to my wife
agreed, i returned the 39 and got a 34 inch qdoled as even the matte finish ruined the experience. It looks like vaseline and shimmering during scenes took me out of the experience. the 39 ppi really hurts as well. The 5k ones cant come out soon enough!
ULTRAWIDE! After testing about three different monitor setups, it's so difficult to have a flawless monitor. I enjoyed my stacked 27" 1440s but wanted the curved feature, so I tried the 49" G9 OLED. It had a wow factor but hated the UI, and the switching between sources gave me black screens. RETURNED! I'm testing the LG 45 at the moment, and I like it. Way better setting adjustments than Samsung, that's for sure! My only issue, I can tell there is this noise like texture when using programs like Davinci resolve. I'm assuming it's the ppi but I'm not sure. Also, I had to reach out to LG last night because while using PBP, the secondary (HDMI) source was darker than the primary (Display Port) and couldn't find how to fix until they had me reset the whole monitor. I'm a little worried that after I adjust my picture settings, doing PBP may give me that darker side and would hate to reset the monitor. Thanks for the content 👍

Hey Geek, I recently stumbled upon a short of yours about the 57' Samsung Odyssey G9. Did you ever get it for review? Is it the best monitor for sim racing? Best Buy has it for $1,700. Is it a go or no?
One key feature about the headphone jack.. Most HDMI sources like Consoles send both the Video AND audio stream across HDMI (albeit in 2.1) ... So, if you're using one of these for a console, you can easily use wired headphones or output to external speakers, amp, etc. with an 1/8" auxiliary audio cable.
Just ordered the 39 inch and very happy about specifically the brightness. Thanks for the in depth video. Idk if I can handle this big of a screen but I won't complain lol
I got the 39" for 1000 over memorial day weekend. Couldnt pass up on that deal! It's amazing and definitely looks stunning. My only gripe about it is that the connections in the back are to low and instead of sticking straight back they stick down and if your hdmi or display por cables are on the siffer side, they can't be hidden that easily.
ULTRAWIDE! Thanks for the review. I'm debating between the 34 in vs the 39 in but I'm worried about the pixel density. Currently using 43 in 3440 x 1440 with 1900R. 800R is nuts lol
On the 45 inch, can you set the resolution setting on the monitor to display only a 27 inch screen? I do that currently on my Samsung 49 inch that allows me to play cod on full screen exclusive without having to use all the pixels
I just got the 39" thinking i'd propbaby exhange it for a 45" if its small, but nope, the 39" is huge . Definitely a nice upgrade from a 27" dell monitor

My home battle was between the 34" NANO IPS and the 34" & 39" 2024 OLED. Kept the 39", love it. The 4090 really bullies it around so easily. When I am using it for web content etc., I just move it back some and the PPI issue is completely resolved post windows text tuning. Never touched the 45" because its so much bigger & taller than the 32" G7 I was replacing and was just looking for more width. It's just too large for how close I like to be without having to move my head and eyes a bunch. IMHO, the 39" is a gaming life hack.
honestly after using them in person, these really need 5k res. Even at 39 inches its still really rough and seeing the pixels and clarity being hit really hurts the experience on top of the matt finish it looks like shimmering on clouds.
Are you happy with that 45 inch one? I heard some horizontal black lines problem on the global reviews on this models page, also screen dimming issue. Im about to buy 45gr95qe but a bit scared with these issues :/
I have the 45, got it about 6 weeks ago and I have had no problems, it's an amazing screen however my only complaint is that it's not very bright however it is an experience and I'm really glad I brought it.
I wouldn’t buy the gr95qe. I’d look at Best Buy for the 45gs96qb which is the newer model with higher brightness and type-c port. It should be the same price as the older 95qe. It’s very confusing but this year they came out with the 45gs96qb and the 45gs95qe. Lg had both on their site but seems to have removed the 96qb even tho that’s still the model that best buy sells. 🤷♂️
Had mine for a few months and never experienced the horizontal black lines issue that you mentioned. The only time that I encounter the screen dimming issue is when doing some bursts on Genshin Impact. Other than that, I don’t experience it even on full white web page browsing. My LG C2 42 actually is the one that has a fairly aggressive ABL causing screen dimming on white images.

Curently I can find the 45 for 1000€ and the 39" is 1500€. I'm more interested by the 39 because as you said, the 45 seem a bit too big on a desk. But I'm a bit annoyed to put half more money to get a smaller screen, which has almost the same characteristics..
I just don't like the curvature of both monitors! My current 34-inch monitor has an 1800R curvature, which I find very pleasant! I tested the 45-inch LG. The 800R curvature felt very unnatural and uncomfortable! I don't understand why such a strong curvature was chosen.
21:9 with 1440p resolution shouldn't be larger than the 34" models. Pixel density goes down quite a bit for monitor use. On a tv, it's not that bad, but for a momitor, both of these models are a hard pass for me.
Hey love your videos from a long time ago! Can you giveaway one of yours console to me even a old generation if you can....? Waiting for your reply with a hope😊
I ended up getting neither, for my living situation and no desk it wasnt a gd fit for me right now. I went with a Samsung 55in Ark gen 2 monitor. It went best with my living room set up. Thanks for asking !
The issue with all big screens is that...they are zooming in the image to fill the screen instead to give us extra content because we got extra screen.....FUCKING MORONS! They don't know how to scale an image. YOU CAN SEE ON THE 45" THE IMAGE IS ZOOMED and STRETCHED. I tried a lot of TV's Monitors sizes trying to find the perfect one and all are MEGA FAILURES.....because they want us to accept this crap. But the content creators can help it, but they don't implement that in all the games. Even the VCard settings won't help much to get rid of that super-zoomed image...... It feels like we need a 50K panel at 45" to display the content properly......when they build a monitor they take the TV's parameters to oversale things on screen. WHAT A MESS..... GREAT VIDEO, THANKS !

Just bought the 34 inch version. Can't wait for it to arrive tomorrow
@@PillsburyNinjaKneadingJustice How it has been the 34' model for you?
@@RitualBoat it's gorgeous, but glad I got it like 60 percent off. The only thing I can't figure out yet is why it asks to shut off every couple hours even if I'm in a game. All I do is click the menu stick and it goes away for another few hours
Where can I get this wallpaper?
Perfect video, thank you so much; subscribing just for that.
Why they cant make 1600p display for new OLEDs, then it would be perfect display. for 39-45''
Dldsr is a nice feature, helps that out a lot
My home battle was between the 34" NANO IPS and the 34" & 39" 2024 OLED. Kept the 39", love it. The 4090 really bullies it around so easily. When I am using it for web content etc., I just move it back some and the PPI issue is completely resolved post windows text tuning. Never touched the 45" because its so much bigger & taller than the 32" G7 I was replacing and was just looking for more width. It's just too large for how close I like to be without having to move my head and eyes a bunch. IMHO, the 39" is a gaming life hack.
Still the wrong resolution! Needs to be 3840x1600 or it's to narrow and not a fan of the aggressive curve. Staying on 32" 4K for now.
Great video! Subbed
honestly after using them in person, these really need 5k res. Even at 39 inches its still really rough and seeing the pixels and clarity being hit really hurts the experience on top of the matt finish it looks like shimmering on clouds.
You don't lose fps going from 34 to 39 inch 3440x1440p right? Both same res.
Correct. There will be no difference at all, as long as they're set to the same refresh rate.
Awesome comparison review bro 👍 “Ultrawide”
🤩
Ultrawide. Thanks. I need a new monitor and couldnt figure out the difference
@@teejay9610 🤩
I thought the PPI for the 39" was 101?
I own the LG 45inch with 4090 but I wish it was 4k 240 hz it’s still a beautiful monitor.
So true
LG 5k2k 45" Oled 240Hz should release at the end of the year, While 39" & 34" will release at the end of next year
@@dragondaniel0574do you have any source?
@@TheMarkhhuk You have to ramp the contrast up to 70 at max and raise the gamma in nvidia control panel to 1.3
@drunkhusband6257 I will try that thank you, I currently have contrast at 45 and gamma at 1.15. I will try it tonight :-)
Ultrawide. Thanks for making good videos! 🔥

I thought LG were bringing out a 2160, 4K version of this.
Yes it's this one ua-cam.com/video/ujHpGxNETa0/v-deo.html
@@GeekStreet Sorry, I mean in a 45" Curved Monitor.
@@blueferrari397 ah OK, no news from LG UltraGear yet. Maybe something might come out next year.
Q4 this year 5k2k for the 45
@@BrandonShouldSmile-zq2iv Thanks for your response. How did you know and any knowledge of the specs? I'm hoping the 4K version will be good for sim racing.
which one is better to play WoW and MMOs in general?
Probably 39 since you have to read text more on mmos
Why don’t these types of displays include an USB-C port? It’s really a dealbreaker for me that I can’t connect my laptop to this display and charge it at the same time
Very nice bro❤❤❤
🤩
If I connect it with my Xbox X Series, I'm gonna have black stripes on the screen on both sides for real?
It lowers resolution to accommodate that
Hi geek the PlayStation portal do u have to have a ps5 for it to work are you can just buy it and don’t have to use a ps5 to set it up?
Yes you'll need a playstation

Hi what is the name for the car game ?
Watching a video about an OLED monitor on an LCD monitor is counter productive.
Ultrawide review 🔥🔥
🤩
Curently I can find the 45 for 1000€ and the 39" is 1500€.
I'm more interested by the 39 because as you said, the 45 seem a bit too big on a desk.
But I'm a bit annoyed to put half more money to get a smaller screen, which has almost the same characteristics..
Get a monitor arm to free up space.
At this point, I'd recommend an LG C4/G4 55' or Sony A95L 55' OLED TV. Better immersion, more features and more bang for your buck.
Ultrawide baby!
🤩
ULTRAWIDE. Great comparison and helped me decide to go with the 39.

ULTRAWIDE. Informative, but not within my budget. I have a corner table, which can accommodate either a 32-inch or a 34-inch screen.
yeah but is it glossy or not? Because if not I dont want it
Matte. I hate matte, but it’s ok once you get used to it.
In my opinion 3440x1440 should be used on max 34" monitors, everything above should be 4k. But maybe it's just me
It's not 1500 nits, nor 1700 nits, not even close. You are using other units of measurement.
I prefer external power for OLED. Heat KILLS.
I just don't like the curvature of both monitors! My current 34-inch monitor has an 1800R curvature, which I find very pleasant! I tested the 45-inch LG. The 800R curvature felt very unnatural and uncomfortable! I don't understand why such a strong curvature was chosen.
the monitor has integrated columns
I got the 34”
These not having USB-C is absolutely ridiculous

21:9 with 1440p resolution shouldn't be larger than the 34" models. Pixel density goes down quite a bit for monitor use. On a tv, it's not that bad, but for a momitor, both of these models are a hard pass for me.
Very difficult decision 😐
Yeah definitely!
Hey love your videos from a long time ago! Can you giveaway one of yours console to me even a old generation if you can....?
Waiting for your reply with a hope😊
Stopped the video when says PPI 90 🤣😂🤣🤣, wTF 😳

Nah… 1440p with super low ppi…. Than a 1440p 27inch oled or maximum the 34 inch ultrawide

1440? Criminal.
They need to stop making every curve
such a shame that it's a 800R curvature, i prefer 1800R. And the asus variant of this one is also 800R :/
Meci.👍🇫🇷
Geek street is being nice about it, text look like a 1998 version of Minecraft, garbage for 2024
If it's matte, neither
Thank you for the vid, really helped me 😊
Which one did you get, and care to share why? I have an LG ultrawide with 34" I think. Wanted to upgrade to an OLED with higher fps.
I run a 34" Ultrawide next to 1 32" 16x9 both 1440P. You are mistaken, you usually get around 30% more content on the desktop and most games.
Tu parle français
text makes these look like horse manure, absolute a money grab by LG.
Na text is fine.
@@ralphtime hey jackass, text looks like 1998 Minecraft, absolutely garbage, it's a shame smartphones & laptops have better text quality, & ppi over 200
This is trash why would they even bother with 1440p!??? 1600p at the minimum would have been fine. Now i am thinking of holding off since I do work and game on my rig i feel like the resolution will bother me. Rumors have it that they will release a 4k version at the end of this year or Q1 next year
That people worry about ppi is funny. Just me but I don’t care how my letters look.
This is a gaming monitor does what it says on the package.
true
Stupidly aggressive 800R curve is a complete deal breaker for me, no idea what LG was thinking.
Really? I love it makes immersion so much better and the curve is perfect for such a large monitor
3840*1440, no thanks.
Low res. and 800R is crap.
