- So, Arizona Sunshine 2 finally got its Meta Quest 3 patch without warning. There might be a reason for that as graphically it's an improvement over the pre-patched version, but there isn't much of a difference. This update brings 4K textures, improved shaders, and fur to Buddy, and an improvement over the quality of the most prominent visual effects like blood and bullet particles on zombies.
I was looking forward to this patch and although very completely different platforms to PCVR. Since Quest a mobile platform ran from a battery source. The PCVR version of Arizona Sunshine 2 is the one to play as graphically on certain sceneries is stunning.
This update TBH is a letdown but still an improvement forward. No use of AppSW is still the way to go and I prefer to play my games at a native framerate of 72hz.

The update is underwhelming in terms of a Quest 3 graphical overhaul. This update improves upon existing VFX. A slight upgrade and barely noticeable improvement over the pre-patched version.

It's impressive the number of zombies in some of the scenes though and it looks like they nailed the combat graphics, and headshots
it's hella impressive that Quest is handling all these zombies at all without looking at bad as either After the Fall or TWD SS with much more limited hordes or draw distance. Most players seemingly don't understand how amount of things happening on screen demands a lot of processing. They were expecting postprocessing effects like dynamic shadows that are hard to get on mobile, let alone with several things moving - that's a lot of computation only really possible in external hot boxes like PCs or consoles...
@@VRnamek I agree completely, peoples expectations are way too high, the Quest platform is really more suited to simplistic environments it just can't push alot of complex geometry with tessellation and real time lighting effects, the pc versions are always better this game included
@@VRnamek The Walking Dead S&S is a Quest 1 game, it has been updated for Quest 2 and 3.

Arizona Sunshine is the latest Quest zombie game, graphically it is *okay*
It isn't visually impressive, RM1 released on the Quest 1 and looks visually astonishing. You'd think a studio this big would push the bar?
But they don't, this game is filled with bugs and performance issues. It crashes every 5 seconds, because there simply isn't enough RAM to load in all the assets!

Just about. I imagine with the 3 year refresh cycle, we'll always still be a generation behind. When you take into consideration development cycles and what platforms the devs target more. Asgard's Wrath 2 devs had Quest 3 prior to the announcement, and it still took them about 5 months include a enhancement upgrade. And they're apart of Oculus Studios as a 1st party developer.
So do you think this is the actual quest 3 enhancement update they promised or is that still coming? Cause they said they would add shadows for the quest 3 and they aren’t there in this update from what I remember.
I do think this is probably the intended Quest 3 upgrade. I did see that others were mentioning, that Vertigo Games were bringing shadows. Is there a post mentioning shadows or the discord? I kind of do remember them mentioning it, but not vividly.
They didn't include shadows apart from improved shaders for Buddy.
I think all the development team went to work on Metro Awakening VR as why this update is kind of uninspiring.
Just played the demo for the first time on the meta quest 3 really good game, is TWD S&S a lot better?
In my opinion TWDS&S has better replay value. AS2 offers more though out linear story gameplay. I like both, but my first playthrough of TWDS&S with getting lost, bombarded with zombies, and not knowing what's next is one of my best moments spent in VR.

Quest 3 should have had eye tracking would have given it the extra power boost it needs for these big games.
I recently purchased Arizona Sunshine 2 after and trying the Q3 version then tried the PCVR version. I can't bring myself to play the Q3 version again. I know the Q3 version could look greatly better, many other games have done Q3 visuals and graphics wat better. All of that said I do like and think the game is greatly entertaining and that's the most important thing overall.
This update is confusing because I have a quest 2 but I have a 11 gig update. I don’t have a quest 3, did they change the quest 2 as well?
Yes. There is an option on the dev side to only give Quest 3 users the upgrade and not Quest 2. But, from what I see, online devs are confused or don't know exactly know how to. As of now, Quest 2 users get the upgrade in storage space, but there is no upgrade on the visuasl on Arizona Sunshine 2.
I noticed a huge difference. Had no problems playing coop before but now I cant see my buddy and he cant see me and we get an error message when using the server code. I uninstalled, reinstalled, game and quest are up to date. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. For a 40 dollar game this shouldnt be happening
Honesty I know this was 7 months ago but they really should have added shadows with the patch

I have this on steam (PCVR) & Q3. Man it almost looks like a different game. It's pretty in PC..

I'm not really a fan of Vertigo. This update seemed lazy
I will say ever since Vertigo Games got acquired by THQ Nordic that is owned by Embracer Group they kind of lost their spark. Hopefully, Metro Awakening VR does things differently so that their games on standalone don't feel so repetitive.
It's a massive update. Doubling the size of the game and it's hard to see the difference. I think I prefer 12gb old game it's too big. Saints and sinner looks great and they kept the size almost the same
Agree. Marginal and barely noticeable upgrade for double the install size really underwhelms this update.

I bought a quest 3 after not buying into psvr 1 downloaded this game and well….. I’m stunned how the quest 3 still looks like psvr 1 😂 feel like Iv been ripped off

This is a $20 game at best. If they updated the first and bundled them together with all dlcs it may be worth $50.

Damn, why this game looks so bad on Quest 3? The performance of Quest 3 should around PS4. But it looks so bad. And I understand that this game were never on PS4, but there were other games.
I won’t buy another game on Quest Standalone ever again after playing Ghost of Tabor.. looks like complete 💩💩💩. Only reason why I did it because I didn’t wanna pull out my Alienware Laptop every time I wanna play. Just make games for PCVR and then U can throw it on this crap @ss standalone garage.

Graphics wise or gameplay wise? Graphics are far better than most quest games, gameplay, well it's pretty basic but the story is fun
