Hope you see this Sani, its been two years since you posted this tutorial and I am so glad I found it. I have never been able to get my backgrounds as good as I wish, but your tutorials show exactly how it is done! Thank yoi🥰
Thank you so much :) I'm glad my video was helpful. Enjoy your Inktense ♥️♥️♥️.
I just found you and I am hooked ! I always have trouble with backgrounds but I like your ideas please do some more. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Teri 💙 zhere will be a 2nd part with new background ideas 🙂
These are all fabulous, thank you for sharing your skill with us ❤
Thanks for teaching me!
Thank you for the demonstration!
Thank you!!! Keep doing more of these videos!!!
Gorgeous backgrounds. Thank you for sharing your talent!
Thank you ❤🧡 I'm glad you liked it
I have these pencils..have been too terrified to try them yet. LOL. This is a fabulous tutorial..thank you so much. LOVE the background music too! Ok, I’m going to work up the nerve to finally use my inktenses.👏👏👏💕
Thank you so much Mary Anne 😊 it's a learning curve and it takes some time to get used to them. Enjoy the journey 😁💙
Love the variety of background and the interesting choice of colors. Never would have thought of using the purples and oranges in the same background. Fantastic! It looks like you are using light pressure and deeper pressure on different areas, is that right? I am addicted to these pencils, I have the complete set and I love them. Sometimes I scratch color on a piece of plastic that I have roughed up and use it like a pallette. I am going to try some of your color combinations. You are a great colorist.
Thank you, Susan. I'm glad you like it.
Yes, I like to fade the colour out and activate from light to dark. Gives me more control.
So beautiful, thank you for sharing these. 🤗💕
My pleasure, Keni :) Thanks for watching
I have a small set that I love and am going to ask for the large set next Christmas. Your coloring is wonderful.
Thank you ❤ you'll love the big set 😊
I love this!! I want a set of these pencils now so bad
You'll love them :)
Beautiful
That was helpful 12:18 I need to do transaction from violet to red on my background, and I did not know how to do this. Thank you for your video, very much appreciate! 🌷
I'm glad it was helpful ❤
Gorgeous. Ty!
Thanks for watching :) I'm glad you like it
Thank you. Your tutorial is truly great. Now I just have to come up with the right colors for the flowers. : )
Thank you, Elly 😊 flower-wise just go crazy with the colours 😁
What is the white pen you are using? Thankswhat is the silver and gold? I love watching you and can’t wait for payday to buy the book. I can’t wait to paint with you! Please please do more.I have been binge watching you for 2days. Thanks again!
Thanks for watching ❤ I'm using a white gel pen by Signo uniball and gold and silver watercolours by Finetec/Coliro
Hi Sani, new to your channel and also to Inktense. Do you have any idea how to use the white pencil that’s included? Just curious, thanks.
Hi Terry. I don't use the white pencil that much. I use it to fix mistakes, when something is too dark or too vibrant or for highlights. I've seen artists (like Lisa Lachri) use it a lot (also the black pencils) for highlights. But she colours on proper watercolour paper and layers a LOT. In colouring books you can't do more than 5-6 layers (depending on the book).
Have you ever tried using White Gouche on dark backgrounds?
Another question. How long between layers? Do you ever use a heat gun to speed up the process?
I'm all over the page so each section can dry while I colour another. It doesn't take long to dry - a few minutes (maybe longer for large background areas where you use more water) - I've never needed a heat gun so far. Also waiting for it to dry is a good reason to get up and stretch, drink water etc.... ;)
@@Saniheartcolours Good answer! I've got to w look to on my patience, I think. I'm actually working on my first picture now with inktense, and I'm loving it. Watching this video really helped. Thanks a grrr ain!
Oh, yay your first Inktense picture :) that's great.
I love these! I was wondering what brand the metallic paints were? I’m looking for some shimmer!
Thank you SueEllen. The metallic paints are Finetec pearlescent watercolours :) a lot of fun.
Lovely! Do you blend from light to dark always?
Thank you 💜 yes, always from light to dark.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm constantly on the search for techniques and colorings with the Inktense pencils! I'm going to try my first coloring book page with them today, in a kerby rosanes book, but I had to prep the page because it seemed to bleed through very easily. Any advice on which books have the right kind of paper for the inktense?
Thank you so much, Cindy ❤️ I've never prep'ed a page (because I'm too lazy for such Things :-D) and never had any issues in Johanna Basford's, Rita Berman's, Lizzie Mary Cullen's or Hanna Karlzon's books. I haven't coloured in Kerby Rosanes' books yet
@@Saniheartcolours Dont use cheap paper books and use very little water and you will be fine.
So beautiful 💕. Which metallic paints were you using at the end of the video? Thank you for a great video👌💜
Thank you, Annie 🧡 those are the Finetec (now Coliro) pearlescent watercolour paints
Does the paper hold up? I don't mind the buckling because I could stack hard books on top of it for awhile. But I was wondering if you have to worry about it bleeding through. I'm going to invest in the big set of these soon. I'm scared to death to try and color backgrounds. I'm new to this style of coloring and these amazing adult coloring books. So I'm always afraid I'll ruin my pages. But I know I could do this!!
Backgrounds are also my nemesis.
Beth, it doesn't bleed trough if you don't use too much water and also if you let the paper dry completely between layers. In colouring books 3-4 layers is the maximum - after that the paper get's too damaged. And YES you can do this - just enjoy the ride :)
You can do it, Julie :)
I loved seeing this. I have intense but I never really knew how to use them in a way I liked. Very good!! But that music has got to go, especially with that whistle in there it was driving me insane. But your content was awesome 😍
Thank you, Barbara ❤ I'm glad you liked it. Re the music: it gets better in my newer vids. I always mute youtube videos that I watch and listen to other stuff 😃 that's always an option. Happy new year!
What is that water pen that you are using?
A Pentel waterbrush (small size)
What kind of pencil sharpener do you use for Inktense?
Hi Michelle,
you just wrote when I checked my messages :) I use wooden or metal sharpeners from KUM (German brand, very inexpensive here).commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:KUM_Sharpener.jpg
@@Saniheartcolours I use a Bostich electric sharpener with multiple holes. I can use it for my Faber Castells, Prismacolors and Inktense. Best one I have found yet. Amazon
