- Today at Ugly Truck, we're pulling out the original 305 V8 and 350C transmission in this truck to make room for the new 6.0 LS and 4L80E. It's another game of "What Can I Reuse?" and "What Wires to Cut?". We answer all of these questions and more! Engine, transmission, radiator, fuel lines... it all has to go! We also talk about some of the tools we use to dismantle these vehicles, and answer some of your other comment questions.

My Uncle Art worked for the R/R and did a side hustle doing kitchen counter upgrades. He drove Country Squire Wagons. I asked why no PU? His answer was he never had anyone ask him for help moving or any other hauling chores. So Ur Dad may have been on the same page. 🤔

Honestly you guys are my favorite LS swap channel. Not only because I own several square body trucks myself but just because of how thorough you are.. You do detailed professional work yet make it seem realistic for the D.I.Y person to tackle. I also love that you try to utilize as many stock GM parts as possible so it makes for an easier replacement of parts down the road if necessary. Excellent work please keep it up we love it 🤟👍

Haha I have an 87 half ton 4wd that I would like to do my first LS swap on. If I can find a good clean cab to replace mine, it might actually happen after watching your videos. I've had the truck about 10 years and I'm very partial to it even though N.Y. weather has gotten the best of it. lol thanks again for the videos!

Definitely recorded before Friday's big temperature drop. I think Wednesday and Thursday were the last nice days we're going to see this year. At least you've got that nice shop heater. We wouldn't want anything getting in the way of these LS Swaps. :)

Hello. Ive got a 1986 stepside that came with California emissions and the V6. I need to know everything I can remove electrical and vacuum line. We are putting a carbureted 350 in the truck. I was told to take the truck back to 1970’s emissions. I live in Idaho we no longer have emissions here. Can you guide me or point me to where I can find everything I need to know? Hello Tony. The emission laws are actually federal laws that apply to what ever emission the truck was built with. In your case it will depend on how much of the work you are doing to it yourself or if you have a shop or mechanic that is willing to do that for you. We do our work for customers, so we end up having to make sure the trucks that we work on have the same or more emissions than they we're built with. You yourself, could absolutely take the truck back to no emissions. Your biggest obstacle would probably be finding a exhaust shop do exhaust without catalytic converters. If you are going to have outside shops perform some of this work. I would stop in and ask them how stringent they are going to be. Some shops take that risk. 86 Step side. Nice. Don’t know about Jerry’s musical tastes, but I listen to almost anything. Except Spanish stuff! Johnny Cash, The Clash, Metallica, Faith No More, Willie Nelson, Bloodhound Gand, Garth Brooks, Iron Maiden, NWA, Hank Williams, 2Live Crew, Dolly Parton, The Cure….at 20 yrs old, I had 4 speeding tickets in 9 months, all 4 received while “Kickstart My Heart” was blasting in my truck.
