LVF & Northern Wisconsin Farming this is the most economical way I believe. If you know how to run a sprayer by calculating speed and pressure this is about the same.
I use a IH 1086 on a John Deere 7200 six row narrow corn planter with liquid starter on it. The tank sits on the middle and part of the tongue. Can plant up to 40 acres without stopping to fill planter with corn or liquid starter. Very efficient.
A 2x2 on the planters always worked well for me using granular. I mounted my fert on my strip till plow this year and I now put it in the row about 6" deep and plant on a stale bed. I am on 36" too. Good luck to all this year. Give us a follow up on the planters if you can.
Johnny Holland that's what we always ran was dry fert on the planter. I remember as a kid going to town and getting it in bags. I don't remember how many we'd fit on the pickup but they were stacked as high as the cab.
The pump is working great. It is a shurflo 5.3 gal/min pump. Call Agspray in Columbus, Ne. They can help you out as thats where I got it. I have since traded planters but I kept the pump setup and put it on the new one. Made some changes to it though. Switched the 2 lb check valves to 5 lb and I routed the hoses to dribble out the back. Any other questions just ask.
I just found your channel. I'm looking at a 12 row 7200 like that it has finger pick up. Does it have the flex frame? If so how well does it work? Take care and have fun
This one flexes in the middle if that's what your asking. I just got it last year and it did a good job. Best yields ever. But we also had plentiful rain all summer so that probably contributed to the bumper crop more than anything. Thanks for watching!
@@AgWildNebraska rain always makes a big difference in dry land crops. Thanks for the info. I've never ran anything bigger than a 4 row and it's getting to slow to cover my ground. But have to figure out how to run vacuum on a PTO hydraulic pump (no John Deere here).
@@familyfarmertn8931 can't help you out there. PTO pump was an option I considered as this planter takes 3 hydraulic remotes and my tractor only has two. I was able to use one of my loader outlets as my 3rd remote.
Nice rig. Next year, I'll be modifying my side- dress system on the 656 to put liquid down with my planter also. Save me a pass with the sprayer pre plant. Almost the same setup as you, except mines mounted on the tractor. What's your plan for nitrogen?
FarmallSome I considered going 30's but then I've got to come up with a corn head and I still like to use the corn picker that's on wide rows. A 8 r 30 planter would require an 8 row corn head as 4r wide is as small as you can run on it. 8 rows is too big for the 9500 without chasing around with a grain cart. A 6 row 30 isn't much wider than our 4 row so couldn't see a time saving advantage there. A 12 r 30 I thought was too much for my tractor. So that's my thinking.
you know if you didnt buy that planter the sun may come out and stay out! mother nature doesn't want you to use your new toy. Maybe you should build a 70 around those front wheels lol
no no no.... we havent started working on our corn planter yet, we planted some oats but those are oats, not corn haha yah we where right on the edge of the storm that snowed on us, in lincoln it was 78 while it was 25 here and snowing lol we havent even got our corn yet so its definitely you drawing the clouds here

Is it finger pickup? I’ve never ran a planter that was hooked to the three point, can you make a video of hooking and setting?
