@@healthnherbs9997 I am so sorry to inform you that Gilgit - Baltistan was part of the kingdom of Jammu & Kashmir that belonged to Maharaja Hari Singh & it legally acceded to India by signing a Treaty of Accession in 1947. Later on Pakistan invaded Jammu & Kashmir & has been occupying Gilgit - Baltistan (which is legally part of the Indian Union Territory of Ladakh). Gilgit cannot get any investment from any international organisation because it is illegally occupied by Pakistan. Only China, which is also illegally occupying parts of the erstwhile kingdom of Jammu & Kashmir is giving money to build CPEC in Gilgit. CPEC in Gilgit is doomed to fail because at some point of time, India will have to take back its legal territory from both Pakistan & China. Unfortunately, the infrastructure of Gilgit will be the first in line to get totally destroyed, because -
      1) Infrastructure projects cannot be built on disputed territory like Gilgit - matlab kabze ki zameen par aap kuch bana nahi sakte without permission of the legal malik(India) and the malik has the right to take down anything that he didn't give permission to build.
      2) Bombing CPEC in Gilgit is equivalent to defending legitimate Indian territory against two illegal occupiers China & Pakistan.

Says who they won’t be able to return that loan!? The loan agreement terms are fully exposed, no doubt Pakistan got a horrible deal! However, Pakistan never had the money to build this, and China who’s investing everything is taking the lion share of it. So, it’s a win, win for both.

@@yourdaddy3571 Thats never the case with China. Infact China gets a lot more if pak fails to pay back the loans. So it would be in Chinese interest to ensure pak doesn't pay. China via Asia Pacific group has been sending quarterly reports to fatf for the same reason. And anyway, even if things remain the way they are currently....theres no indicator that suggests pak would be able to pay back unless they really take the inflation up by a good 2%.
And no...I am yet to hear of the contract details with penalties or lease info if pak fails to pay back on time. Remember these are Chinese private companies and not govt to give extensions or a bailout. These are hard-core industrialists who won't let even a single yuan go.

EU and the US are far more forgiving than China. Chinese loans tend to have different terms; one's of really high interest and that threaten sovereignty if not paid back. Its happened in Sri Lanka, and also in your home country. I'm an Indian and dont want to be preachy, but tell me one thing; are you comfortable with a foreign government owning assets in your country that they can use for their own disposition? CPEC is also extremely asymmetric, wherein China will benefit by creating a trade surplus; let alone making PK a vassal state. I think the best route for PK, is open trade with India and the rest of the world, whoever they are. Ummahdom has no place in International Trade; and has only created choke points in the past. IMF doesn't take away your sovereign property if you fail to pay back. Interest rates are almost half in comparison to Chinese. And point of loans being to the private sector doesn't hold water since these companies are in turn owned by the state itself. Maybe your concern has stemmed from the fact that China killed 50 of your soldiers and you couldn't even condemn it officially. How about get them out of Ladakh instead of teaching Pakistanis whom they should and shouldn't trust? China also doesn't bomb innocent countries like your US does nor does it bully all of its neighbors like India routinely does. Allow its soil for fighting foreign wars and then complain the fall-outs are destroying them, calls itself a republic but under the umbrella of religion.. • @Parasuram5
    @Parasuram5 3 роки тому +5

What Mr Omar will not tell you is:
    1. The cost of power generation equipment from China is twice the price paid by Indian power producers for the same Chinese equipment which by the way has very high lifetime cost. Reflects in high cost of power. (Double of India)
    2. Even workers are brought from China so the investment has hardly created any local jobs.
    3. The cost of Chinese finance is again very high. They say ‘beggars cannot be choosers’ but then the Pakistani public are footing the bill. The falling value of Pakistani rupee is increasing cost of power every year.
    4. Huge investment in the SEZs has hardly yielding much results. But again Pakistanis are footing the bill for nothing.
    5. In Omar’s own word 5400 MW is 25% of Pakistan power capacity. That is capacity of only one medium sized Indian state.
    6. Omar does not talk of cost of security. What about the huge compensation bill for Chinese engineers killed in a Hydro project.
    7. The ambassador is overly patronizing probably because he hardly knows much
    8. How is the massive agitation by Tehrik Labeek and their increasing clout going to encourage investment. Is Pakistan becoming a fundamentalist state. Can’t escape the Taliban effect.
    9. China is shifting its ‘dirty’ industries to Pakistan and Omar will not tell you that.
    10. Imran and Pakistan are paying the price for calling Modi ‘small minded’ Great diplomacy.
    11. Imran doesn’t let go a chance to compare how Pakistan is doing much better than India. Could we have figures Omar
    12. Pakistan State Bank head says falling Pakistan Rupee is good for a section of Pakistani population. Omar could clarify
    13. Dollars are flowing into Afganistan and only thing Afganistan can give in return in drugs.
