I spent a lot of time listening Troubles...this entire album was getting me through my adolescence. I still made a bunch of mistakes, and I grew from them.
I could listen to Alicia telling stories over the piano and singing during hours, this exactly what I need before going to bed (it's past midnight here in France ^^)

Troubles is one of my favorite Akeys tracks, period. It really helped me focus when I was struggling and still does. It reminds me to be prayerful, keep working, and be patient.
A.Keys never stopped being so relevant atleast to my pov. I remember this album was so real to me. My mom single mother of two and my father too busy getting drunk and selling drugs and couldn't be bothered with being a father and I craved to be loved, this album gave me all that. Listening to this album on my cd player my mom was renting a 1 bdrm we still did not have beds so me and my little brother slept on the floor on opposite sides. I had this dream that some day we'd stop being poor and I'd learn piano.
This is one of my favorite "cds" of all time. Every track was a hit to me.
I can remember loving ‘Jane Doe’ and ‘Lovin’ U’ (with the ‘Natural Woman’ sample) from ‘Songs in Key A Minor’ so much back in the day as a 10 year old! 🎹

Alicia let me tell you something I have an always will be a full album in person. I was brought up in the time when your mom was around music where I am the same age. So you learn to enjoy an entire album from start to finish. It may not be a song that’s playing on the radio all the time, but it’s that one song that you hear that you can relate to and that’s what makes it so special. This may be a B-side for you, but while listening to the whole album.... I was living with this song. In my heart there is no a or B side it’s just what the vibe that hits you and touches your heart. I’m gonna be 58 years old in October, damn I’m old. But I do love music from all genres and tapes and anything that touches my soul. That’s what good music is supposed to do. And Alicia well oh yeah album to do that, but the ones from the very beginning were breathtaking heartfelt and touched my heart cell. Thank you sweetie don’t have a stop
