    it was suppose to be a sunny day which we have heard over and over like a bad marriage. the on and off rain let me fix the almost flat tires on the 1967 chevy c10 film truck. while i had the wheels off, i tossed on the new brake drums. it took Sir Rodney 2 months to get all 8 brake drums for both film trucks. having the brake drums finally in stock made them handy to install. i had great success with the 67 chevy film truck i decided to do the 1969 Chevrolet c-10 film truck too. i almost had the last wheel off then the heavy rains came again which stopped everything for over an hour. by 6pm, i had all the new brake drums on and the film trucks lined back up to be in the daily film-videos from the Kingdom. but i did get soaking wet doing the last wheel because i could not wait for the rain to completely stop. oh well, the rain season is now in june not in september like all others years. thansk

    Dear KoO, your story about the air tank and your father reminded me of my Dad. He had a air hose that screwed into a spark plug hole on the engine. His funny thing was that he'd have to add brake fluid every other day to his truck. Never seemed concerned that it was leaking, just keep filling it and everything was fine. The brakes never got adjusted so you had to pump the pedal a couple times as well on order to stop. It was okay though because he didn't drive too fast nor too far. And there wasn't much traffic. Thanks for making me smile remembering my Dad 😁

      yes what our dads did back then to keep a vehicle going makes for good memories now because it was a simpler world back then, now days we can not do the things they did because it is the new world thansk

    I've been blessed with 23 ºC, 46 % dampness (lack of) for 7+ days now. Nights give me under 20ºC, 60% RU. God bless you all. ❤

    Morning from Gagetown, got to say I love how solid the door closes on the 67, it sounded like it was new. Great job, thanks for another great video, hope everyone has a great day.

      thank you, yes even with the bottom of the cab rusted out, the chevy still have solid doors when closing. that is why the trucks are well worth fixing. thansk

    Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ 2 months to receive drums, that's a bit unreasonable. You got the brakes installed on the film trucks, almost ready to go have them inspected. Keep up the great work guys it's always a pleasure 👍✌️🇺🇲

      yes in the parts world, there are still items that take for ever to get. it will take along time to recover from the great lock downs even 3 years later. the film trucks are basically mechanically done and now the cab body work. thansk

    King 🤴, that's why I kept my 96 Freightliner FLD. I only run it once a week and still run paper log books. Still raining here in Louisiana.

      the 96 will be a normal truck with very few computers. the rains will make it feel so humid. thansk

    Rain here too. My garden has standing water. Plants are drowned. Rivers and streams are flooding. I can water during a drought. When it keeps raining you are done for. Going to continue til next Monday ifI am fortunate and then back to more rain.

    I’m learning today. First time I’ve seen brake adjuster access holes in the drum. I’ve always found them in the backing plate. Guess I’ve led a sheltered life. Interesting to see your Dad got steam licenses. My Dad had his third class license for a long time. When he went to get the first class license, he had to take a class in air conditioning, because that was part of the test. Plenty of shop time with your present weather. Hang in there and take care. Thanks for the videos.

    • @kingofobsolete4789
      @kingofobsolete4789  7 днів тому +1

      yes it took me a little bit to figure out why the 67 had no brake adjustment holes any where and hard to get the old drum off. thansk

    Decades ago I had a 66 Chevy 1/2-ton pickup. The drums had the slots so you could adjust the shoes from the outside just like your film trucks. That is a good idea! I haven’t seen any other vehicles with that feature. It’s really handy!

    • @kingofobsolete4789
      @kingofobsolete4789  7 днів тому +2

      yes not sure when and how long chevy had the slots in the drums. a lot easier to adjust because you can just reach in and lift up the spring loaded lock-adjustor then turn the big wheel with ease on the adjustor. thansk

    I just cannot believe the weather you guys are getting. Meanwhile down here in lower Onscario, we`ve been sweating our butts off all this week with hot n humid, with plenty of late-day thunderstorms-slash-hailstorms.
    As I do every day, I read your vid description where it says you got soaked finishing up the putting the last wheel back together. Yeah, I got blasted with rain and hail on Monday morning just 30 minutes before finishing work. Oh well, at least I would be going home and could change into something less wet. Having outdoor jobs is great, except for the ugly weather, lol.
    I would gladly trade our weather for your weather. Not just one day of it, I could enjoy a whole Summer of the kind of cool weather you`ve been having. The endless rain, not so much.

    • @kingofobsolete4789
      @kingofobsolete4789  7 днів тому +2

      yes ontario is known for the humidity when it gets hot plus the thunderstorms too. those always happen at the end of the day when trying to finish up. we have been lucky with no thunder storms because it just has not gotten warm enough. oh well thansk

    • @kingofobsolete4789
      @kingofobsolete4789  7 днів тому +2

      no, paint is the worse thing for drum because it holds the heat. we want cool brakes so they last on the so-called roads around here where we drive with one foot on the gas and the other on the brake for the best speed and control thansk
