I picked up a Kershaw bino-prism binoculars from an estate sale last summer. Gentleman was a B-17 navigator with the 15th Air Force. They are dated 1942 as best that I can tell. My neck strap is exactly the same.

I use these 6 x 30 binoculars as my go-to for spotting dolphins in the sea near where I live. The wide field and low angular displacement makes that simples. If you need to home in on a dolphin once spotted, keep a pair of 10 x 50s handy and use those.

Amazing how a guy could talk for 8 minutes about a pair of binoculars!

    Hi
Great video. Just like mine. Could you explain how the graticules work? Also have you ever had sight of an instruction manual? Many thanks. Best wishes
    David

Hi David, the graticules are when you look down the lenses, they are to measure the distance away, that’s typically why officers or tank commanders had them, to be able to spot and target enemies at long distances. I have no idea about a manual but you could probably find something online!

At last ive found someone who owns these! Mine are exactly the same and were issued to my dad. He was a desert rat in WW11. There are many inscriptions hard to read but one looks like G.A.L.IRWIN or D.A. L. any ideas? The leather case ive sadly misplaced but looks the same as yours. Ty 😊

Hi, really awesome to know your dad was a desert rat! Thank you for his service! If you want to send me photos on my Instagram I can have a good look into it for you? Or email what ever is easier? Always happy to help!
