These are regular dental burs. Some are carbide and some are diamond coated. It depends on what I am doing, as to which one I use for what. My book Egg Carving for Beginners explains each one and what they do and what you can use them for.

I have an egg carving studio now and I am trying to figure out how to record new videos and keep background noise to a minimum.

Hi Katy! I’ve never carved an egg. What video shows how to make and apply a pattern.what bit do you use for outlining? I have a dremel that is 36,000 rpm and will buy a flex shaft next month. What tip would I use to accomplish this?

Mary Lindsay I am not sure when it come to a dremel what bits you would use, but I do have another video just on putting patterns on eggs so feel free to subscribe to me and it should pop up. I also have an egg carving and etching page on Facebook feel free to subscribe and tell us how you found us there are plenty of experienced carvers that have used or is currently using a dremel that can answer your questions.
