I want to thank you, because of this episode, I've taken to buying larger portions of pork and butchering them myself. It really is much more cost effective. I got a decent slow cooker roast and 8 boneless chops out of it. I'm very satisfied.
Buying the larger cuts of meat is almost always a money saver. I also like buying the 2 or 4 pound package of smoked sausage, because I can do so much with it (I have an almost unhealthy appreciation of Cajun/Creole food, I live about an hour and a half east of New Orleans). Hamburger is another budget friendly go to for me. Anyways, keep up with the experimenting.
Has anyone else noticed that Frankie always seems surprized when he tastes his food? It's like "WOW! This IS good." 😂 😂 😂 Of COURSE it's good Frankie~YOU made it. Jenn in Canada 🇨🇦
Honestly this is one of my favorite struggle meal videos. Please do more like this. Teach us how to butcher our own things to make them more cost effective.
Frankie could you do a video someday talking about tips on purchasing your grocery list, what places to go & what to look for in the store? I love you thanks so much
While I enjoy a good steak as much as the next person, buying a good pork loin, a Boston butt, hamburger meat, a beef roast, and some smoked sausage are my go to meats. There are just so many things you can do with these meats AND they tend to be more budget friendly since you can stretch them into a variety of meals.
Great work. Would there be any ideas about the cheapest ingredients that will be able to be split between 2 or 3 diff meal ideas? I often use ground meat mixed with fried potatoes then the next day i make an enchilada style casserole with the left overs but it has exhausted itself. Need help good sir!
One single prune in the middle for larger meatballs gives also a more complex less sweet taste, honestly thought my family is the only ones that did it lolol
I am 53.. I wish I had YOU TUBE when I was in College ... my mother could cook, but as a doctor she was very busy so I didn't really learn to cook until later in life.. and it has evolved... and now.. I Have a very picky bf who is more about pizza and hamburgers and I can't even cook with garlic cause it gives him a headach.. OY
Highly acidic foods will harm cast iron. But it is still the best for most foods. I use a big cast iron pot for stews. It just tastes better. Once we'll seasoned and nice and grubby, mostly nonstick. Great stuff and cheap, too.
i KNOW right?! very talented and charming-if i were 30 yrs younger.....trying hard to keep it clean,lol-plus much respect to him,he looks like he loves what he does!
I have a whole pork loin in my fridge now I paid $1.99 for in NC. Will be cutting it up into chops and cubes. Been doing this with beef, chicken and pork for years.
I'm in NYC and loin was 2 bucks, but more now. You can go to a wholesale butcher or a club, get whole cuts and a good sharp knife, cleaver. You will have a month's supply of meat, beef works well, in many places you can rent freezer space, used by hunters and restaurants, saves enough to pay for it self. It is harder to save now, but not impossible. Oh! Forgot about victory garden.
Meat producers in 2022: Yeah, about that. We're going to need you to pay $7 US per pound for 80/20 mince, and $5 per pound for that whole pork loin. $7 if you want only part of it. That pack of nasty, trimmings-laden hot dogs and the ultra-cheap store-brand bologna are going to cost you a whole $5, too, because we cannot allow anyone to eat cheap anymore, apparently.
I knew one of you idiots would pop up eventually, how does the chronic inflammation from all of the rabbit food feel? www.healthline.com/nutrition/are-vegetable-and-seed-oils-bad#section2
@@amy3971 I've found that like 90% of people who say "it's not an option for everyone" totally have the option to go vegan, but they just don't want to and hide behind that empty platitude.
@@necrogenesis1981 Are you serious? You're literally talking about cooking oils. Something pretty much everyone uses, vegans and non-vegans. PRetty sure that makes you the idiot, you idiot.

I enjoy this series soo much and it is also very inspirational when it comes to ideas on what cook. Keep up the good work.
Would love to see you do a video all about cast iron. Care/seasoning along with struggle southern comfort skillet meals
Struggle meals should have its own channel
Syahidah Abidin looks like wish granted
What for, when we can watch it on UA-cam and he can still get paid for it!
He's on Hulu. Thats how I watched him at first. I didn't know he had a YT channel lol
I've been watching him on snapchat haha
I found this on tv

Love this! Please more ideas on how to get many meals from one type of meat and how to break larger cuts up! Thanks!
I love Pork Loin. I often cook it with onions and fruit to make a delicious sauce to go over mashed potatoes
I love your videos and I watch them every day. Thanks for all the good ideas.
Thank you Frankie! I always wondered how people used those giant slabs of pork.
Thank you for this video. Ive been on keto and it fits perfectly.
Frankie your personality has bloomed as your style I watch struggle meal just 4 U...peace❣
I am a simple man I see Frankie and I click

I use the tapered part for stir fry.

Just discovering this channel. Love it!!!
I love this series! Is he related to Rachel Ray! They both speak with their hands and I love it!
Brilliant use of raisins
Thank you I needed to learn this
Always a fan of Frankie
really happy I found struggle meals! thanks Frankie!
How about thanksgiving on a budget?
I get a whole pork tenderloin for about 13-15 bucks and use part of it for pulled pork
Hey, thanks for showing us how easy it is to cut that giant pork loin. I had no idea.
What kind of a god finishes a crossword puzzle in 20 minutes?
I have been breaking loins down for years. Easy to do, and the savings just in the chops , pays for the rest. Many meals cheap.
Great video!
What do the raisins add to the meatballs in terms of flavor? Does it make them really sweet? Are they for moisture?
Thank you, Frankie! I am going to try to butcher my own ginormous loin of pork on Friday! (Grocery DaY)
I buy 3 pork loins under 20 bucks each every few months, I also make sausage and Canadian bacon no need to smoke.
A mi me gustó mucho muy delicioso
The store near my house will cut the meat you buy any way you want. =x we've been eating pork instead of beef for awhile in my house, so much cheaper.
Thanks again Frankie!
That's exactly what i need!
Can you do recipes with spaghetti squash?
Very appropriate in May 2020.
I caught that snicker when he says "The beauty of the ball" LMFAO
Raisins in Meatballs? Interesting!
One single prune in the middle for larger meatballs gives also a more complex less sweet taste, honestly thought my family is the only ones that did it lolol
My grandmother swears by it. Growing up, I was in charge of inserting three to four raisins to each meatball. (We used pork.)
Sadly, where I live, we only get pork tenderloin in two skinny strips in a package.
He is using a loin, not a tenderloin. Some stores do not carry this cut on a regular basis.
Se ve súper súper rico

I don't want to knock the raisins tell I try it, but I'm struggling lol
Why the raisins
See but acidic things, like tomatoes, dont mix well with cast iron, it just makes the food taste like iron
Get enameled cast iron. Problem solved. I have some.
Highly acidic foods will harm cast iron. But it is still the best for most foods. I use a big cast iron pot for stews. It just tastes better.
Once we'll seasoned and nice and grubby, mostly nonstick. Great stuff and cheap, too.
I live in England and I wish this was something I could get and brake down myself even if I could that's still £50-£60 worth of meat
Pork is cheaper than beef here but I prefer beef. The grease tastes better.
I was wondering why this episode felt different, there was no music in this one haha
MARRY ME FRANKIE

I think you should teach people all the different things they can make with bechamel. So cheap.
Why does this guy strangely turn me on?? LOL!!! I found the complete series on Hulu and knew right away it must be a youtube thing. So here I am!
$2.00 a pound... where?
Here in southern Missouri we get it for 1.79 a lb often
I got it for slightly under $1/lb (shoulder).

Life saving I theis inflation
raisin in meat?????
noice
NEED.....PORK......DADDY!!!!
You lost me when you said raisins
Raisins are already bad, but then you put them in meatballs? Blasphemy!
"Delicious pork tenderloin", which will now taste like petrol because you let the vapours of the cooking oil flare up...
It wasn't a Tenderloin, it was the pork loin. Very different cut.
No!! No pork!!!! ☠️☠️☠️☠️ there is a reason why it’s cheap
It has issues yes
Here's an even better tip to save money on meat: go vegan.
I knew one of you idiots would pop up eventually, how does the chronic inflammation from all of the rabbit food feel? www.healthline.com/nutrition/are-vegetable-and-seed-oils-bad#section2
silvsilvsilv not an option for everyone but go off sis.

silvsilvsilv I AM a vegan, idiot. And again, not everyone can do it; be it health or money.
literally just go vegan
George Z I love vegans.... they are crunchy, and good with catsup!
Did you go to this "How to cook meat" video just to say that?
It’s very intimidating for me to cook pork, every time I do it turns out so tough and dry unless I put it in a crock pot.🥹so defeated😆
