True story!
I'm in the camp that doesn't mind her being taller. Canonically she's 6' and superman is 6'3". If she's wearing anything more than a 2 inch heel she'll appear to be at least his height and possibly taller. I think this is an area the artists make mistakes on in the same way they'll make Damian and the other Robins look older than they actually are.
But this is a Gal Gadot version of her and Gal isn't 6'. It doesn't make sense.
I can't wait to buy them both. I wish they come make Cheetah.

It sucks that her paint apps are wonky and her legs are completely undefined. Out of all of your Wonder Woman figures which do you think is the best representation of her?

I pre-ordered the Golden Eagle Wonder Woman but passed on the basic movie costume Wonder Woman. The pics didn't look very good to me and I've never really liked any of the figures I have with that costume. Looks like I've made the right choice.
I think the leg muscle definition has been an issue on a lot of these McFarlane Multiverse figures. I am willing to let them evolve and improve over time, but that's one big noticeable flaw right now. I have my Superman posed on his flight stand in a sort of floating position so that it isn't as noticeable, but even that figure has sausage legs. It is pretty prevalent on the Arkham Batman that they are releasing as well.
I went into this new Multiverse line thinking that I might make it the line I finally collect every figure for (my collection is sort of a hodge podge and I've never fully committed to one line), but I have already passed on a few that I just didn't find appealing. I didn't get Batman, Animated Series Batman, Animated Series Harley, WW84 basic Wonder Woman, Animated John Stewart, or Hellbat (this one I will most likely pick up eventually because it looks real cool). Combine some underwhelming looking figures with the selection being so weighed towards Batman/Bat Family and I feel like a lot of my early enthusiasm for this line is fading. I hope they improve both the figures and the character selection as they go.
Anyway, I appreciate the honest review!

Yeah all the female figures are to tall. Just because it’s a 7 inch line shouldn’t mean that every figure is 7 inches. He needs to do the females at least a head shorter. That’s one of the things DC essentials does right.

The paint on your basic one’s head sculpt does indeed look worse than mine. That definitely doesn’t help the left-leaning sculpt. That would certainly have been enough for me to knock another point off. If not for the size of the Green Arrow figure, the scale would have knocked about her point off, too. Hopefully those things can be corrected going forward.
Hey Brad that's why I'm a superfriend cause I expect your honesty before I go to purchase a DC action figure and yeah WW is a little to tall McFarland needs to scale down just a little on some figures so they look kool together.
great review, nice figures but the gold armored is way better, hopefully by the time the movie comes out McFarlane could make a better regular version of WW, kept up the good work

They absolutely need a thigh cut. I feel like when McFarlane took over the Multiverse line we expected to be getting MORE articulation, not getting articulation we'd had since the DCUC days taken away. The Icons line never had a thigh cut either and they used to drive me nuts.
The two points of articulation the Icons needed was thigh and waist. That would have made them better for sure.
@@BradTheDCUniverseGeek To be honest Brad, I loved the Icons but my annoyance with the articulation and the fact that they cancelled the line before getting that Blue Beetle/Booster Gold 2-pack out meant I ended up selling all of them, despite having collected almost the entire line, and using the money to expand my collection of DCUC figures. The only one I kept was the classic Superman figure which now sits in a separate display of Superman figures rather than in my main DC display which is almost all Mattel.
If the thigh cut can't be hidden by the sculpt I would personally rather it not be there (as long as the hips function well enough, which this line for all its flaws has had very functional hips)
Thanks for the review. I was looking forward to these figures and man was I disappointed. The hot dog legs remark was spot on. I was going to buy golden eagle armor but thought about my current dc collection. Shes way too big to display with anyone. And i have alot of dc collectible/essential figs as well as mattel

Wonder woman is taller than supermen because she's wearing shoes with a platform heal. As well as there from 2 different story lines. Ones a movie ones comic.
Brad, what are your favorite figures (so far) that you've picked up this year? Do you have a favorite shelf of figures you've assembled?
To me the ankles and wrist are totally eyesores. Then the legs are way to long for each figure. Yeah the Golden Armor looks great but that’s about it. I think McFarlane mailed these in for sure.
One thing I hate about the McFarlane Toys figures that is present in the reg. WW84 figure is the chest piece that juts out strangely from the rest of the torso. It looks weird and ugly. It's also especially prominent on the Mac. Toys Detective #1000 Batman fig.
The core issue I have with McFarlane's Multiverse is that it lacks a uniform identity from the articulation to the scale
True story. That's definitely a thing to be improved upon.
I wonder if the live action figures have their own slightly different scale compared to the comic figures.
@@ComicCrossing I'd be fine with that. The scale doesn't bother me too much, chances are I'll put my live action figures on a different shelf away from the comic figures.
Brad The DC Universe Geek no point in collecting the whole line. Even the Arkham joker had a weird sculpted head. Disappointing
So far supes, the armored up superman and Batman figures, the batman who laughs,the raptor and all the upcoming figures from white knight,metals,bwl's have me more than happy with the line even with the obviously rushed/botched figures initially released(arrow was also well done but I have no need for a cw show hero figure from a recently canceled show or even still airing, except for maybe deathstroke, a flash tv version of yellow flash and season 2's zoom which is a design that's right up Todd's alley) I'll pick these up but like the "modern" batman release I'm going to have to modify, repaint and add some sculpt to both of these figures to make them what they should be. As far as the scale goes im tired of everyone whining about things not matching their marvel legends because that's really what all of that nonsense is about. I like variety in my figures, the other 7" lines I buy are among my favorite figures and the only problem I have with McFarlanes dc scale is how oversized female characters are in relation to other figures in the line and I'm not someone that needs the scaling to be exact, I don't care if batman is a couple of inches taller or shorter than superman and that having to be reflected in the toys.they can be the same height or the reverse of which is actually supposed to be taller as long as the figures look and feel great.
I really wasn't planning on picking up either of these. I'd prefer a comic Wonder Woman and a comic Cheetah to go with her. What I'm wanting to see is some information on the Dark Nights figures that are coming out. I'm hoping those look good cause if so I'll get one of each.
The Beast Kingdom doesn’t look like Gadot, but has a beautiful face. And it looks more towering.

I'm curious to see if the rumored Snyder JL wave (which doesn't have a WW) is sized up to scale with this.
In terms of height, her bio card gives the height as 5'10" so McFarlane isn't following the trading card scale unless they make all movie figures taller.

Wow, you are so right... with those plastic logs for legs and wonky eyes the regular WW fig is a hot azz mess! BUT that gold armored one is on point! I will be picking up that one to go with my Arkham Batman and Joker and The Batman Who Laughs.
Every wonder woman (not armored) I saw has the same problems. Their face looks horrible. I bought the armored one left the other. McFarlane has good intentions, he can make awesome figures, I don't understand why he is struggling with these dc figures. MacFarlane has made beautiful figures in the past. He needs to fire the people working on this dc line and get better sculptures and designers.
No offense bro, but I think you were too negative about the regular WW. Yeah, the legs are terrible, but the rest of the issues are QC that are something to expect on some samples, and the sculpt and paint details are very salvageable. But I remember you saying that some of the very ugly DCM from Mattel where very good when they looked like crap lol. I guess it's hard to be objective all the time.
I agree. This is the best movie Multiverse WW figure by far. Not counting the Gold Eagle version.
did you try to match the jokers colors today? (your clothing colors)

The face apps on mine are actually pretty good, but I feel like her hair is too light overall. But yeah, the main problem is the overly long thighs. Her feet are also big...like man-big. I also feel like her ankle ball adds too much extra height as well. I plan on doing some extensive surgery on this one.
I'm hoping McFarlane just starts using their Batman and Superman as a base for scale going forward.
Hey Brad first of I think you have some Super 🦸♂️ valid points Paint application on face should have been done better including eyes and daddy long legs should have been shorter to make her at 6 3/4 inches tall or at worst same height size as Sups &Bats having said all that I think 🤔 you got wrong end of the shelf stick you got one that a kid should have gotten and not have notice these inconsistencies I honestly feel bad for you. Normally you very excited and super enthusiastic and I enjoy this because oddly Shartimus Prime is a lil more on fence reviewing and mmm... lil bit slightly negative sometimes mostly positive but negative and went to his review to see how he would have faired you review. Anyhow. Best wishes.
I actually went to Sharts review after to hear his thoughts too and he got one where the face paint looked so much better. He definitly liked her more than I did. I glad he had a good experience :-)
Brad The DC Universe Geek I just think yo got the short end of the stick this time around but your such a good positive happy go lucky attitude kind of UA-camr your more enjoyable to watch honestly, being honest we watch way way more of you than him. He’s got some positivity but my 11yr I want him surrounded by way more positive influences than dual wishy washy erratic back and forth guys. I've been thinking about getting a wonder woman figure, just trying to figure out which one (something about the thinness of most female action figures has turned me away from getting them). Which one would you recommend ?
Agreed on all fronts Brad - the golden armor is the only one I am picked up out of the two. There are some highlights of this McFarlane DC effort so far, but I am bowing out of getting everything - they are way too widely inconsistent in scale, look and quality among their own line. Picking and choosing the high marks only for here on out with this line.

Well this one was different... As for the figures, I like your honesty here. Everyone else has been saying nice things about the regular costume Wonder Woman, but to me she looks much more like the Mattel movie Wonder Woman than she does Gal Gadot from the film the figure is based on. Pitty too. And she's way too tall.

I must’ve looked at about 50 Wonder Woman 84 figures to get the best application ratio. Mostly focused on the face, but if I find a few good face paints, then I go with the best armor paint applications among those. I found that there was a variation in the skirt sculpt. The front middle flap is wider in some cases with a different sculpt in the gold area.
Best thing about the basic looking movie one is at least the closest to a normal looking Wonder Woman witch we still don’t have a comic accurate Wonder Woman witch sucks, but we still need more women figures in general
I think you may have gotten a bad figure, just picked mine up and the Headsculpt looks great

I thought they had fixed the height issue after Harley Queen comic classic action figure, but it seems they continue doing wrong. What a pitty.
I'm hoping for an SH Figuarts or Mafex version of this with a proper height.
Mattel did it better. I don't know why they lost their license just when they were getting on the right track

I’m surprised, I thought the head sculpt got both of the them look pretty accurate to be honest. If the scaling wasn’t so big it would fit perfectly.
I completely disagree with almost everything you said about the basic figure. The only thing I would agree with on is that the legs could look better. But I feel like the face looks very much like Gal. I don't mind the height at all. The paint apps (on mine) look great. I didn't think I would like the basic figure based on online photos but when I got it and displayed it I think it looks fantastic. I also love the golden eagle version. Sorry you're so unhappy but I'm very happy. So yay for me.
I think both kinda look like Gal Gadot but not 100%, I'm a little surprised at McFarlane. But I do like the paint, sculpt, and articulation. Ugh it's so hard to get all you want in a fig.
I think you got a really bad copy of the standard WW version! A lot of other copy’s I have look 100% Thighs don’t bother me too much... because I pose mine and it looks better! Great review!

Mattel had a hard time getting height of characters correctly. I hope McFarlane will change that but after watching this. My hopes are a little squashed
Thanks for reviewing Brad I was debating on getting this! I think I made my decision now. I had high hope for the McFarlane Toys line. Don't get me the wrong the Hellbat, unchained Superman, Nightwing, and Batgirl were great.
I purchased this but had to return. The blank stare, the long shapeless legs. I couldn't go through with it.
I hope there's a running change so collectors start having to say "the weenie-legged version"
The body looks good, the face doesn’t. I have a small collection of batman and Catwoman figures and I love them. It’s hard to find a WW or superman with a good face. Not to mention articulation and if i need to make a cloth cape or not

why didn't he go with comic version wonder woman first....this line of figures is just one big disappointment... McFarlane does a excellent job of his movie and sports figures ...but his dc figures seems to be rushed and phoned in....and he should change the name of his line to batman multiverse because that seems to be his focus....but funny thing about it ....his first wave batman figures were the weakest in the line
