@@inakyu there is actually a 9th genres which is just horror and like the 8th genre you mention which your psychological it can definitely overlap in hard though so both genres go hand-in-hand that would be like stuff like Higurashi or Umineko Another Shiki Corpse Party and many others probably stunned that I'm missing but I want to say actually enjoyed this video you have some very good taste in anime
As anime/manga specific genres I would classify: fighting - usually shounen with heavy focus on action, usually also character use some sort of superpowers. mecha - sci-fi series with giant man driven robots. slice-of-life - following usually mundane occurrences in lives of characters, usually very relaxing harem - single boy either just living or being pursued by multiple girls. It has various degrees of erotic content. Specific sub-genre would be reverse harem, but that is way more rare at the present battle royal - basically deathmatch game, where characters compete against each other. Loosing usually means death. isekai - is very wide genre and it's combined with various other tropes. Basically it's story where character or characters are from one world put into a different world. Sub categories of isekai would be trapped in RPG game, trapped in dating game, reincarnated as non-human character, summoned as hero, survival in other world. reincarnation - character usually past hero is reborn in present day, very commonly mixes with isekai. food - anime focusing on making and/or eating food yuri/BL - same sex romance targeted at the opposite sex. otherwise anime/manga has pretty much every genre sci-fi, fantasy, romance, drama, horror, action, etc. and various combinations. Shounen, shoujo, seinen, josei are more about demographic.
This is a super fun and informative video!! I love Seinen and Isekai the most personally. Another anime specific genre I would add is Josei, although it gets grouped together with Shoujo a lot. Josei is basically romance/dark drama for adult women, like 'Nana' and 'Princess Jellyfish'
Yeah, there are a bunch of missing genres in this video that are completely unique to anime, and several mentioned in the video that are not at all unique to anime. Yuri, Yaoi, Iyashikei, Mahou Shoujo, Harem, and CGDCT all come to mind as genres that are truly unique to anime unlike sports and psychological which you can find in western media.

One great Psychological anime is Ergo Proxy. you can't describe why in one sentence, almost by each episode you watch it, the scope of what you thought was the boundaries of the show, expand until you reach the final episode. It's amazing in almost every way possible. Very good mystery and psychological anime.

I kind of like the whole entire Dragon Ball franchise except for GT and Dragon Ball as a franchise had some moments that we're kind of dark and gritty moments even for shounen and I loved every moment

There are some misinformation in the video. Shjo , shonen an Seinen aren't genre , But demographic , they indicate the type of Magazine the manga was serialized , not their content. More precisely, they indicate the level of reading necessary to read the kanji , shonen manga have furigana to help the shonen reader in his reading (cuz he's supposed to be in high school and not having complete his study of kanji) , Seinen manga haven't furigana cuz the reader is supposed to have completed his study of kanji and the shojo manga have a more simplied vocabulary . Anything is Shojo , shonen and Seinen as long it's serialized in a shojo, shonen or Seinen magazine. A shojo , a shonen and a Seinen can be anything . In fact a large portion of slice of life manga like K-ON and Girl's last Tour, are Seinen. Psychological manga like Death Note and TPN are shonen. Devilman is a horror, dark fantasy manga and is a shonen. Detective Conan, an investigation manga is a shonen. A lot of sports manga are Seinen and shonen. Sukeban Deka is a violent manga about a girl investigating with blood is a shojo. And the target demographic can only be used for manga , not anime.

Bloom into you and toradora aren't shojo. Bloom into you is shonen. Toradora doesn't have a demographic because it was originally a light novel and light novels don't have demographics. Attack on titan is shonen. Vinland saga is both shonen and seinen because the first few chapters of it were serialized in a shonen magazine while its later chapters were serialized in a seinen magazine. I agree with that it’s not a genre, however these demographic have grown and evolved where certain demographics have repeating tropes, where they become known for their tropes. People hear shonen, and they know exactly what type of show you are referring to. And technically there’s no “shonen anime” because anime aren’t made by demographics like manga is.

Manga is a Japanese book. Animes are TV shows that are based on manga. Some scenes are deleted from the original anime so you can read them in the manga. Sorry if this wasn't informative enough.

you are conflating genre with demographic. Not all shoujo are romances. and some of the "shoujo" you mentioned are actually shounen.
also one question.... would you stop watching anime because of how much it hurts you and rips your heart out? Or the void it either fills or makes inside of you?😭 idk I’m kinda scared and I need a friend like you to guide me through the anime world😂❤️ (I am in middle of exam season but I can’t wait I need to watch something😭 ig imma start then promised neverland what do you think??)

What does manga mean ?
Manga is a Japanese book. Animes are TV shows that are based on manga. Some scenes are deleted from the original anime so you can read them in the manga. Sorry if this wasn't informative enough.
